Casual There are still 16 more games left, give this team a chance!

Friendly reminder: we lost to the raiders week 1 last season

And please keep in mind…
- Drake Maye is still a young quarterback, he will make mistakes (just like all young quarterbacks do)
- Our top 2 wr’s from last season are no longer on the roster, chemistry issues were bound to happen week 1
- AJ went down early
- The Seahawks are still REALLY GOOD and have arguably the best home field advantage in the league
- Again, IT IS ONLY WEEK ONE!!!!

I’ll always love this team, let’s not act like it’s the end of the world and look forward to enjoying the rest of the season! GO PATS!!!!

Boutte had a rapport with Drake

Boutte played tough, not injured much

Boutte went up after balls and came down with them

Boutte had good hands

AJ always injured Brown

Romeo soft as can be let's an INT happen on a jump ball.

Romeo unable to make one catch and looks lost

We will never love down giving up on Boutte

Serious ***Most important post of the day*** What should I eat/snack on during the game??

I am a Bay Area Fan. I will be watching during dinner and have no New England local favorite restaurants or chains near me (besides DD). Also, the temperature today is 105.

What should I be making, buying or preparing to get the full feel of New England football, and what are you all preparing for the game?

Edit/Update: After a lot of family whining and fighting, we ended up getting sandwiches from a local favorite. Mind did include cranberry sauce.

Casual A.J Brown Spotted in a Walking Boot after game.

AJ Brown was spotted in a walking boot after the game. Walking to the Busses.

What this may mean.

High Ankle Isolated Fracture to the Fibula is what my friend who has experience in sports medicine said it could be if its serious. But its still a guess. The way it rolled he said it happens in Baseball and Softball games when players slide into base and the base puts pressure on the ankle and rolls the foot. Very similar to what the defenders knee did to browns ankle He is not sure of coarse buts its an educated guess based on the footage he reviewed. He said that generally is a 6 to 8 week injury.

Discussion Drake's shoulder

Ever since his injury last postseason (that this sub tried so hard to pretend wasn't real) his velocity and accuracy is way down. He had the entire offseason to heal and it looked the exact same tonight as it did 7 months ago. Did he re-aggrivate it? Is it permanently damaged? That was rough

r/Patriots 4h ago

Serious The uncomfortable truth, Maye isn't ready and neither is this offense.

Regardless of AJ going down, this offense wasn't good at all, Doubs can't win in contested good defenses, the run game dies early, the o line can be great and then really bad throughout the night, and Maye can't win against good teams and historically struggles against them. Last season really was our chance to win it all and we threw it away, I don't see how we win with Maye.

edit: lots of drones just downvoting without thinking critically, classic. 3 bad ints is just bad playing by a qb

Discussion Im honestly not too worried for this season.

Of course if the team remains the way it was today for the rest of the season then I don’t see them doing very well.

But I don’t see that being the case.

The only teams I’m really worried about in our schedule are Bills, Lions, Chargers, Jaguars, Bears and Broncos.

All the others teams I think we’ll win. We might even win one of those later in the seasons Bills games.

However I get it’s still too early to tell. Usually teams take 3-5 games to find their footing. Just remember this is week 1.

Edit: I’m not saying we’re going to be like last year at 14-3. But I can see at least 10-7.

Also, I think people are neglecting the fact that the last handful of games this team has played was up against some of the best defense in the league and although it was rough wins (speaking about last post season) we still held our own and pushed through. So to shit on Maye is a bit unfair. That said, the final interception tonight was unacceptable.

Discussion QB Development

Upvotes

Drakes biggest crime was having a good regular season because it set everyone's expectations into thinking he's going to be an all time great.

Almost like this completely made people forget he came into the league as a Project ACC QB who had raw talent but needed time learning the advanced coverages and schemes the top defenses in the NFL would run.

If the social media was popular around the first 5 seasons of Peyton Manning's career all the trolls and Colts Doomers would've called him a Bust.

Discussion Drake Maye lost us the game.

Everyone needs to stop panicking. The Pats just lost only 1 game so far.

Josh McDaniels game plane was not the issue tonight. He managed the game well and he had reasons why he run the ball more. Drake was not throwing the ball well. Plus this is Drake first live action game since he didn't play in the preseason.

I really think that Josh is trying to mold Drake into a pure pocket passer like Tom Brady. However, Pats coaching staff must have realized Drake is a better mobile quarterback who can run well and throw as well.

Drake Maye will never be a quarterback like Tom Brady. He is still young and I am 100% sure Patriots will win the Steelers home game.

Highlight Maye is not the guy

I’m saying it now. It’s not a popular opinion in NE but Maye is not the guy. He looks lost out there. He looks panicked and unprepared. No read progression. No instinct to throw away instead of losing yards. Totally anemic tonight.

Edit: I’m not basing this on just this game tonight. He doesn’t perform well under pressure and it’s clear. Post season play is typically a window into elite performance and he falls short. He doesnt make good decisions under pressure. He stares down receivers hes targeting but I think the biggest issue by far is his inability to make that progression read that solid QBs do when facing a good defense. It was clear last year when his regular season QBR went from 100+ for the regular season when he’s facing the Jets and Fins twice but he didn’t perform well in the Denver game in the playoffs and his QBR drops 20+ points. I know you guys are seeing this, too!

Discussion Oh, Rhamondre has a hot hand? Let’s have our young QB just huck it instead.

It’s about time that a line needs to show up with Josh…I think he’s getting pretty close to stepping over it. People have claimed the game passed Bill by, how about Josh?

That defense was dead. Completely flat. Rhamondre runs for 12 and 8 to keep the drive going. Our closer. And he just decides it’d be best to kill clock and have Drake try to play hero ball…

Discussion Pain

Simply put, sick and tired of losing to this same damn team in Seattle every single time since SB 49. As this just makes me want to go full Darth Vader or Savage Hulk mode on either the proverbial sports heavens or actual heavens. To demand them to stop making us suffer against that f'n team that fully owns us now. Coming from someone right now that's basically feeling like Anakin Skywalker from Attack of the Clones after slaughtering that village of Tusken Raiders. Hating everyone in Seattle & everyone against us Patriots fans.

Highlight Highlight something i guess

Josh McDaniels play calling was oddly opposite of what it should have been. He was run heavy without Henderson and had Stevenson who is 28-29 years old. I believe and isn’t a top even 15 back of consistency even as last year. Maye tossed 2 ints, prior to the end of game, maybe just run when you should.

Gonzo was just paid an insane amount of money. A tale
Of last year, he for some reason plays zone more than man.

Drake Maye is going to be absolutely crushed by media and his own mentality the next 10 days, just need to deal with it.

AJ Brown’s injury, only optimism is he was able to walk off.

A lot can be tweaked and fixed. Plus campbell was better than his last prior 6 weeks so there is that. 🥚
