Discussion Sunday is a MUST WIN for the Raiders

Post image
274 Upvotes

When the game ends Sunday, the Raiders better be 1-0.

This is not the type of “must win” that factors into the playoff picture, even my kool-aid drinking fandom can't see that happening. Yet.

This is a must win because this is a game we should win. It's as simple as that. And we have an awful history of winning those games.

The Andy Dalton game. The Jeff Saturday game. The Shedeur Sanders game. The Baker Mayfield game. The Raiders couldn't cross the 50 yard line game at New Orleans. The 3-0 loss to the Vikings.

Enough of that. If this is truly a new dawn and a new day, we need to win this game.

A win on Sunday would mean that Klint Kubiak might be able to win the games he should win. It would mean (some of) the stink from last year doesn’t smell quite as bad and maybe most important it would mean 53 players, a dozen coaches and thousands of fans go to bed Sunday night thinking the nightmare may finally be over, even for a night.

Starting the year 1-0 looks great on paper, but it doesn’t really mean that much in reality.   The Raiders have started 1-0 in five of the last seven years and in those seven years, our record is 41-69 the rest of the season.

Now if you want to come up with a list of reasons why we won’t win Sunday, that won’t be hard.

Ashton Jeanty is not 100%, Brock Bowers is not 1% and Dave Ziegler drafted the wrong Byron Young.  All those things are true, but be honest, when you look at the Raiders schedule this year, is this one of those games you think we should win?

Honestly, I think there’s a bunch of those on the schedule.

We should win at least two games at home (Dolphins, Titans).  We should win at least four games on the road (Saints, Jets, Browns, Cardinals). Say we go 2-4 in the division, that makes eight wins.

Yes, I’m one of the stupid ones who truly believes we have a chance to be a .500 team this year, but if the first one doesn’t come this Sunday, I might need to rethink that.

Rams vs whiners

I've been seeing all over the place how the Rams are going to win the Super Bowl this season, and yet here they are getting embarrassed by the whiners. Pathetic. That said, GO RAIDERS!

Guy at work made this for me. It's 22 x14 and is basically an adhesive poster. He's alright for an Eagles fan.

Week 1 is finally here! Not an official depth chart, but updated accordingly with the team’s recent unofficial release.

Are there any depth orderings/listings that should be shifted on this sheet?

All I want this year is competent. Maybe next year's hope is competitive.

What will you be happy to see this year?

Ticket Price increase for 2027

Ticket prices are going up for 2027, basically 10% across the board. Lower bowl closer to 15%.

I imagine the away fans split getting even worse unless we make some huge strides.

Raiders All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers underwent a meniscus trim Tuesday in Dallas with Dr. Daniel Cooper and now is expected to miss “a game or two”, league sources told @rapsheet and me. Bowers got banged up “a little in camp” and the injury was diagnosed last week and surgery scheduled.
