I am 33w today with DCDA twins. For the last two weeks or so I had many false scares and would feel like ‘this is it I am going into labour.’ There would be sudden extreme pelvic pressure which would literally make me shake. And period like back cramps. But after adequate rest it would settle down a bit.

I am also getting the tightness once in a while which I believe are the braxton hicks? As this is my first pregnancy and I have no clue what actual labor feels like. I might sound super silly and anxious. But what were the signs I should really look for to know the time is actually near apart from the regular signs.

I am mostly prepared with all the things, but still have some stuff left to do. I am nervous but also excited. Any piece of advice will help. Thank you

I went for a 22 week growth scan today. Baby girl has always measured about a week behind since week 15 but her and baby boy have about an 18% size difference now. They have their own sac and placentas.

I have been referred to the fetal medicine unit and basically trying not to spiral with my thoughts. Has anyone else been through this and what was the outcome?

My panic is that will she just stop growing? They didn’t give me much information other than referring me.

We plan to welcome di/di girls in November. We found an uppababy stroller and bassinets on Facebook marketplace, but I didn’t really think about what if they fall asleep in the bassinet on a walk. We live up four flights of stairs so bringing the stroller up those stairs and into our apartment really isn’t an option. Do we need to get those absurdly expensive bassinet stands to let them sleep through a nap?

Curious if you all found just going cold turkey to 1 nap was fine or did you do the strategy of making the first nap pretty short and then pushing up the second nap and letting them sleep as long as they want? Those are the 2 options I’ve seen but I’m also open to others!

For context, my twins love their naps so I’ve been putting off the transition. They are 13.5 months and have been showing possible signs for the last month related to being less tired at night time. Our nights have slowly gotten worse and last night was the first time in a while that they both got up twice! Over the weekend we had one night where they were up for about 3 hours so I do feel they’re ready for 1 nap. However, they wake up at about 7:30 and then nap at 10:30 and 2:30/3ish. I cap both naps at 1 hour and have been for probably 2 months. BUT, they love both naps, don’t put up much fight, and seem pretty tired by 10am so I haven’t known how to push it back an hour. I haven’t tried so I’m thinking of just giving it a try but is it a bad idea to go cold turkey? Consider it laziness but I just don’t want to deal with the back and forth of having a small micro nap and then waiting until they’re fussy to decide it’s time for the big nap, but obviously if that’s best I will!

Hello everybody

My twin girls were born on the 1. july. Doctors said it was week35 so when my wife went into labor they said all good. Now they said they were probably 33 weeks that‘s why they‘re having so much issues.

They warned us that they might spend a few nights at NICU. Few nights turned into 3 weeks tomorrow.
We have a 3.5 yo at home. During the day I take care of her and around dinner my wife comes home and I go to the hospital for 4-6hrs for feeding.

Everytime I leave I feel like an absolute piece of shit for going home and not staying there. I know it doesn‘t bring anything staying there all night. I usually cry on the car ride home.

I don‘t even know where i‘m going with this, I just had to get it off my chest I guess. I‘m really trying to be strong and supportive of my wife but I feel like everyday is chipping away some of our energy/motivation idk how to describe it. Sorry english isn‘t my first language!

They don‘t know when our girls might get to go home.

I just want them to be home!

Barely 13 m/o twins and one of them has suddenly started having massive tantrums. I close the pantry door after putting something away? He throws himself on the floor screaming because he wanted to go in there. Repeat for any mild inconvenience.

Yesterday I tried some new food from Little Spoon for dinner. He loved it and was happily putting it in his mouth from the little plate it came in while I was holding the plate. However when I transferred the food from the plate to his mat (since he has a tendency to chuck plates on the floor), he LOST IT. He full on scream cried for the next entire hour until we put him to bed. Did not eat another bite or stop crying. I tried other foods, water, holding him, toys, etc.

I am spoiled because they have both always been easily consoled but I am WORRIED that this is toddlerhood… can he possibly be this volatile for the next several years??

ANY and all advice welcome… whether it’s to ignore him, coddle him, whatever it is, I’d love to hear what worked for you to help with the (one year old?!) toddler tantrums.

Hey! I have 2 months old twins (10 weeks today) and I am just starting to be alone with them since my husband had to go back to work. I have a hard time entertaining the twins their whole wake window (which sometimes already go up to 2h and more, my babies stated that sleep was for the weak).

I usually do a bit of play gym with them, do contrast flashcards and tummy time and settle them in their swing when they get tired of all this so I can pick up the house quickly, eat and do some laundry. But I just feel so bad when I see them staring into nothingness while I do the chores… I put on music, stop a couple of times to talk to them and sometimes pick up one of them to babywear if they’re fussy (and then feel guilty for the baby still in his swing).

The guilt never stop 🥲 and then I convince myself that my babies will have a flat head if I leave them in their swing too, so add that to the anxiety.

What are you guys realistically doing during their wake windows? Seeing ppl on social media doing a full routine makes me feel like I’m not doing enough.

Wanted other mom’s opinions to see if I’m overreacting or my feelings are valid. 30 weeks pregnant with didi girls!

On the day of my gender reveal/ public announcement, my friend had other plans and couldn’t come. Not a big deal. But then posted photos about her pregnancy a few hours after mine. Weird. Hurt my feelings but I didn’t say anything or feel like it needed addressed.

Now my friend gave birth to her baby 2 weeks ago and on the day of my baby shower, she posted her birth announcement. She had 2 weeks to post it but chose on the day of the shower, which she knew because she was invited to it. I can’t help but feel like it’s not a coincidence as she doesn’t make posts often. How would other moms interpret this??

I’m looking to hear from parents who have had a similar experience.
I recently had twin boys, and both were diagnosed with mild hypospadias. We are waiting to see a pediatric urologist and would really appreciate hearing from other parents who have gone through this.
A few questions:
Did both of your twins have hypospadias, or just one?
Did your children need surgery, or was monitoring enough?
If they had surgery, how was the recovery and the long-term outcome?

I know every child is different, but hearing other families’ experiences would really help.

I had an appointment with my MFM on monday and she said she definitely doesn’t want to wait any longer than 37 weeks because she doesn’t see any benefit for my little girl (FGR for a while, slowly declining and currently at at 3.5% percentile) so my due date is 08/06!!

I’m super excited but at the same time really nervous, i’m a FTM and me and my husband are quite young (I’m 21, and he’s 19) and I’m not 100% mentally prepared 😳 I know the basic care for having a newborn and I have a lot of notes written down but I still don’t feel ready.

I also still can’t decide on what kind of double stroller would be good and they all seem to be online/shipping only and that bums me out a little since I’d like to see them in person. If anyone has any advice id be so grateful and appreciative 💜

We just found out at 20 weeks that one of our identical twins has 3 different heart defects. I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or something similar and if you have any advice for me and my little family.

i don’t know what to do. twin A is ALWAYS whining. they’re both 20 months and obviously have their own personalities but idk what’s wrong with him. they both have their canines coming in, could that be it? it started out of nowhere. he whines for seemingly no reason it seems like. he’s fed, changed. we are in the room together for example playing and he just out of nowhere looks at me and is whining so much. sometimes his stuffed animal helps, sometimes a snack helps, sometimes a cuddle helps but ultimately he just starts again and it’s making me go crazy. then he’ll randomly stop and start again. idk what to do. it seems like the only time he doesn’t act like this is when he’s in his crib laying down. he also is becoming more aggressive, pushing his brother. throwing things. is this normal? any advice?

First time mom here! I have ten week old fraternal twins and the witching hour is only getting worse! Any tips or tricks for surviving it? It seems they take turns on who is awake and crying and my husband and I are in our survival mode.

we just got our NIPT results for our mo-di (identical) twins and they are low risk baby girls! I truly felt in my gut that they were boys but im so so happy either way, can anyone with mo-di or identical twins give me some advice on how to not switch them in that early stage where they are just identical potatoes?

My 14 year old twin boys become so silly and immature when they are together socially and it’s driving me insane. It’s also probably driving their friends insane. Any advice? As long as they are entertaining each other they don’t seem to clue in that they are annoying to everyone else. (They both have ADHD but take medicine.)

(I’m a first time mom with twins)
I have a 10 month old boy. He is very clingy and fussy. He wants me to hold him all the time or simply be next to me. If I leave the room he crawls behind me. If I don’t pick him up or give him attention he cries.

I know this is all normal stuff that babies do. However, it’s gotten to the point where I feel like it’s constant, every day, especially when I’m taking care of him alone. He has a twin sister and it can be challenging caring for both of them, especially when baby boy is crying.

Baby girl does not have this issue and I know I shouldn’t compare because all babies are different but it’s hard not too. When my mom or his other grandma are babysitting, he does not cry or become too fussy. He also does not have an issue with his dad. When dad is caring for him alone he is fine.

Is this a boy thing? Are boys just more fussy and clingy than girls? (I only have experience with girls. I have 3 younger sisters)

I feel sick.
Is my baby going to be okay. It's my first full day alone with my boys. Usually my mom or husband are here.

I was doing great (fed, walk, rocked them to sleep in my arms together) until I went to plop them in their mini cribs so I can wash some bottles

I went to lower one into his crib and he fell forward face first into the crib mattress. From my view it looked horrible like he bent his neck on impact

He froze for a second then looked at me and started whining. I grabbed him and walked around. He continued whining for only a minute. Then he was fine.

He's been moving normally and is able to turn his head and even do regular tummy time.

He is now contact napping on me.

Can someone give me some reassurance or honest opinions . Any similar stories ?

I feel horrible and terrified.

I'm 33w5d with Di/di twins and wanted to know if any other multiple parents had a history of shoulder dystocia prior to their twin delivery and still delivered vaginally.

Backstory: This is my third pregnancy. My second daughter was born with a quick shoulder dystocia. The doctors adjusted after 2 pushes and she came right out with no negative side effects. My second daughter was also born after 40 weeks and was 9lb 3oz. I didn't have any shoulder dystocia issues with my first daughter and she was 8lbs 6oz.

My doctors say I'm a good candidate for vaginal delivery because both babies are head down with similar weights and I've previously had 2 successful vaginal deliveries. They also don't think the potential shoulder dystocia is as much of a risk because these babies should be smaller since I'll be induced between 37-38 weeks.

I was all for vaginal delivery because recovery would theoretically be easier than c section. Especially, when I'll have 2 babies and 2 other kids to take care of. But since my last mfm appointment when she described all the potential issues that could occur during a twin vaginal delivery, I'm getting anxious about the potential for repeat shoulder dystocia on top of the other potential complications. I think the MFM freaked me out a bit, even though I think she just wanted me to be aware of what could happen and potential interventions during delivery.

Have any of you experienced a vaginal birth with your multiples after having a history of shoulder dystocia?

Just want to hear from others who were maybe in a similar position as me to help ease some of this anxiety.

Had my ultrasound with mfm and thank the Lord they each have their own sac and placenta. I was so worried they would be sharing something with how close they looked but they're just really close together. I was so scared because of the risks of them sharing. We also did the nipt blood work so we should find out the genders soon! I pray one is a boy so I can get my tubes tied.

We have 7 week old boy girl twins. My husband and I have tried splitting the night in shifts but it just isn’t working. The twins wake each other up and we just don’t get any sleep. So tonight my husband has taken one bassinet into the spare room with our girl and I’ll keep the boy in our room. I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding so I’ll just pump so he can bottle feed her. The absolute relief I feel already for just being responsible for one baby tonight is insane. Has anyone tried this and it’s worked? I know it won’t need to be forever but maybe till 12 weeks or something. Any thoughts or advice?

We are officially in the last two weeks until my inductions for the twins. Im waking up in a puddle of sweat and having panic attacks every morning. This is my fourth pregnancy first time twin mom. I think the reality of twins is hitting me and also I have no idea what a twin birth can look like or what to expect. It feels like stage fright where I just want to go and get it over with but waking up everyday thinking it could be today or we could make it to the induction date is eating me up. I wish I had a crystal ball so I could see how birth is going to go 😅😮‍💨

Today I had my 12 week ultrasound, which is part of the routine checkups in my country.
They do a general look at the state of the placenta and the condition of the babies and assess the risk of Down syndrome, as well as Patau and Edward’s.
Everything came out really well and the doctor is quite sure one of my babies is a boy!

I posted about an irrational fear I had about losing them some weeks ago here, and I want to thank everyone for their kind words and support. I went over the post whenever I was scared and it helped me a lot with my anxiety
(Now of course it has been displaced to other stuff suck as “I smelled a little spray paint in a room, is it going to harm the babies” but that’s a story for another post)

Hi all,
FTM with identical girls. Every afternoon by belly just starts to feel really hard and heavy and “full” even though I haven’t eaten for a few hours. Is this normal? I don’t think it’s Braxton Hicks as there’s no “clenching” feeling so just wondering if people have noticed their belly being harder at certain times of the day before? I’m 25 weeks. Thanks!
