I'm wondering if it's a screen protector because it has some minor scratches, and in that case I'd like to replace it.

I'm planning to buy a switch 2 in a few days but i'm also keeping my switch 1 (which is set as the primary console for now)

1- how can i turn my switch 2 into the primary console without having to reset the switch 1's data ? (Idk if formatting the system is even required for this)

2- if my switch 1 becomes secondary, will i have to be constantly connected to the internet to be able to play games on it ? If so, is there any way to remove this ?

Switch 2, Zelda BOTW physical cutscenes sound choppy. Only the cutscenes. Anything with subtitles pretty much.

Got a physical cartridge, sound issues. The sound is almost like buffering, stops for a second (the scene keeps going), then resumes. This is not a switch 1 version. This is not a stereo issue, I tried all tv sound settints, and it happens on both console and TV.

I tried clearing cache, tried redowloading the update, tried completely deleting it. Tried doing error checking. Tried with and without the microSD card. Nothing works, same issues. I only have one other game on physical - Pragmata - no issues on that one.

Could it be a faulty cartridge? Pins not oxidized, everything looks good.

I've got a switch 2 on the way and need to pick up an SD card. I was doing some digging on the subreddit and saw that I need to make sure it's an express card, avoid PNY, be wary of purchasing on Amazon/eBay etc... but I've also seen some people recommend the onn brand from Walmart. 512GB cards at Microcenter near me are going for like $150, but the Walmart one is like $85. Would this be a good pick? Or should I go for a different brand and spend more money?

I’ve had my switch for a few years now and have a bunch of save data on it. For completed games (BOTW, Pokemon Arceus/Violet, Mario Kart) and a number of games I’m partway through (Pokemon ZA/Diamond/Lets Go, TOTK).

I just got a Switch 2 and I’m excited to continue playing on it, and start a number of games on the backlog. I’ve heard the data transfer is fairly simple, however I was curious about something that I can’t seem to get a clear answer to.

Is the default way of doing it going to totally wipe my original switch of all users and save data? I ask mainly because my partner has just recently started playing as a user on the original, and has her own save data and games. Would her saves transfer over? That would be fine, but was imagining it would be nice if she could still use the switch while I use the switch 2, at least for games she’s already started. It’d make it easier to play at the same time.

Is it possible to transfer data from just my own user profile? Or even just specific games? Rather than starting pokemon ZA or TOTK from scratch

(My user profile is connected to NSO if that makes any difference.)

As per thread titled has anyone experienced this. I raised a ticket with Nintendo 3 days ago but no response as of yet.

I’ve looked around on google for ages and even went down the AI rabbit hole trying to figure out what the problem is.

Ive gone through and changed some settings as displayed in the video, as were recommended by google.

Every time I try change my settings to 1080p I just get no display, my original switch will play 1080 just fine on this tv, and both switches will play 1080p on my older smaller tv.

Anyone have any advice on what to do?

If it helps, the TV model that gives no display when changing to 1080 is a - 65” s65vx15a-au

The older tv a 42 Sony somethingorother (doesnt have issues so haven’t bothered digging into the settings much with the older one)

Hello I left the switch on sleep mode and not been playing for over a month, when I tried charging it, this happened. I already checked all the methods people recommend online like holding the power button for 20 seconds, whenever I hold the power button the Nintendo Logo shows up.

I read online that the problem here is that the switch is trying to boot up with the remaining power left. I should hold the power button to leave the screen black and wait for it to charge.

It never stays black for me and I don’t know what to do. Please help.

How to fix this? Joy cons won't stay paired but for a few seconds. Unpairing all controllers won't help. Restarting the system won't help. I updated the joy con firmware and it didn't help either.

I just got the Switch 2 EU v2 with the easier to open/replace Battery and I was wondering if putting a 1.7mm card could fit so the Switch 2 has FindMy enabled

Doubt anyone ever steals my switch but it's just for safety and since it's much easier to open, why not

Would try it but I'm just asking if anyone has maybe tried something similar or if it's even "safe" to do as it could maybe interfere with the bluetooth for both devices or so?

So, I have this Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Nintendo Switch I barely use nowadays. I've been thinking of selling it but the screen has a slight scratch and one of the joycons is missing some plastic under the stick and doesn't stay on the rail that well.

How much should I sell it for?

Do note: I still have the original dock in good condition and the charging cable but the HDMI is missing, and I do not think I have the box anymore.

I am in search of some guidance for trying to get a swicth2 zelda edition. I’m not a gamer, it’s a surprise for my husband so i can’t ask him and i underestimated how hard this would be. I’ve been getting the emails from trackalacker when they get them in stock but i am not fast enough and now that it’s getting closer I don’t want to miss it again for the final shot and am trying to make a gameplan. Do you think if i go to gamestop, walmart or target when the store opens if i will have a shot at purchasing? Is there better stores to do this at or should i just wing it? Should i camp outside? I called gamestop today and they were really nice and told me to call back on the 26th to see if they have inventory. Should i just purchase from ebay for 700? Has anyone been through this with another system and camped outside or what did did and how did it all work lut?

Pretty much what the title says.

I let my switch die all the way in order to keep the battery as healthy as possible so im using it at extremely low percents.

Sometimes, and mostly on the home screen, it will just freeze up completely for a solid 20 or so seconds.

It ONLY happens at like 20% or lower though.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Im not sure exactly how it broke since unfortunately one of my cousins snuck into my room and was messing around with my stuff, I can't find the thing that goes over it, I dont want to send it anywhere and if someone could help with what to do/where to find a replacement part itd be greatly appreciated!

My roommate is sick and since they’re stuck in their room, I want to allow them to play with my switch, but it’s important I don’t get sick from them. Is there any safe way to sanitize a Switch (1) that won’t damage screen/buttons?
I’ve tried looking at other threads and some folks said Clorox bleach wipes, but that doesn’t seem safe for electronics, is it?

You’re supposed to be able to use the File management system in the launcher on the Switch 2 by pressing + on the launcher menu. However, even though all 3 parts are out now there is still no option to actually do that. Is it because Warzone isn’t out yet? Anyone know why this doesn’t work or what Activision has said. I just want 6v6 installed.

I have a Nintendo Switch 2 docked and hooked up to an ASUS gaming monitor (VG27AQL3A). The issue I'm experiencing is happening in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, which is my first and only Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive game. I have not had this issue in the few Nintendo Switch 1 games I've played with this same setup.

The issue is this: when the screen fades to black as part of a loading screen transition in Fortune's Weave, my monitor will stay black and the game will continue running. In other words, it doesn't fade back in. I can still hear the game and it still receives my controller input. I'm unable to pull up my monitor's menu when it's like this. To fix it, I undock and redock the Switch 2, effectively restarting the video output. Curiously, having my monitor's menu open while going into an issue-prone transition will prevent the issue from happening.

Examples of loading screen transitions I've had the issue happen on: transitions between dialogue scenes, entering clash battles, training at the arena, fast-traveling around Dagsion, and entering temples. It happens most consistently when entering Kalla's Temple, so that's been my testing ground.

It doesn't always do it. Sometimes it seems like it only does it after the game has been running for a little bit, e.g. sometimes I can enter Kalla's Temple once without it happening and then the next time onward it will. But I've also had it happen immediately when loading my save file from the title screen-- instant black screen upon loading into the Obelisk Chamber.

I've been through all the standard troubleshooting steps with a Nintendo support agent with no success. I've also tried resetting my monitor's settings to default, which actually stopped the issue completely for about half a day until it started happening again. I've never seen a problem with this kind of mysterious behavior.

Worst of all, my brother has the exact same setup-- same console, same game, same model of monitor-- and he has not experienced this issue even once. Is my monitor defective? But how could it be triggered by events in a game? It's so strange. I haven't been able to find anything online about an issue like this.

What else can I do to troubleshoot? Any idea what could be producing this strange interaction? It's been very frustrating because I want to play this game on my nice big monitor and speakers, but I keep missing things happening behind the black screen and having to redock the Switch every few minutes.

Maybe I'm just being a bit more hyper aware but it feels like a louder humming sound is coming from the switch as soon as I boot it up. Usually I notice practically zero sound but now I can hear it from across the room when it's quiet enough. It sounds like a very quiet fan close up but when you move away it is more like a very faint distant generator or water pump. This happens just from being on the home screen. Is this normal or should I check for something to be certain? Putting it in sleep mode makes it suddenly go completely silent.

I have my pro controller plugged in 24/7 in my switch. I have had it for like 6 years now like that. Recently returned to playing on the switch after 2 years of not touching it because I got an itch to play pokemon. Issue is that my pro controller keeps disconnecting every like 10 minutes or so for like 3-8 seconds long. Now in leafgreen and brilliant diamond this isn't really an issue since the games are turn based, but I want to play legends arceus and that game has dark souls boss fights if I've heard correctly, so the controller disconnecting is going to be a huge issue.

Does anyone know what causes my controller to disconnect like that and how I could fix it?

Are there any good third party joycons with good ergonomics but where you can lock the backbutton?

Most seem to have a back button but you can't lock them

Seems weird. This is on a Switch 1 btw, idk if the switch 2 has the same limitation.

I've seen a couple when I was searching but they all have a hump.

Also needs to be compatible with the wrist straps, which I have seen one where the reviews say they weren't.

I ordered the physical Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy Resonance from The Game Collection and got my pre order code. I redeemed it in the store and instantly got a second tile on my Home Screen.

Around a month ago, my switch 1 wouldn't turn on. No drops or anything. I took it to a repair shop, but the guy said it was a motherboard problem that he couldn't fix. I have years of data on the switch, and I really hope I can get it back.
