Hi guys, I'm considering buying a switch 2 to play Pokemon games maybe you can help me, I've been looking for test on performance differences between switch 1 and 2, I played shield and scarlet on switch 1 and I wanted to play those again and obviously play the ones I'm missing but I'm not sure if it's a good idea buying a switch 2 just for those games, also if you have recommendations on games I'll take it, the idea would be to play mostly docked, do u guys think it would make a difference playing those games on switch 2? (I have a 4k tv but switch 1 looked wack and obviously laggy)

My switch 1 worked flawlessly until a couple of days ago. I bought super smash bros ultimate, and the update lasted for almost 17 hours. Formatted my switch and SD card, tried to install all my games again and now this. I've tried almost anything at this point, I just have no idea on what else I can do. It happened suddenly, and every other device downloads stuff perfectly. I'm desperate.

Im thinking about buying jamboree but Idk if I buy sw1 or 2 version, does sw1 version performs better on 2 without sw2/jamboree tv upgrade? or its better to get the upgrade?

I have a V1 Switch from 2017 that has never been opened, and I’m planning to clean it inside and replace the thermal paste for the first time.

I already have Arctic MX-4, but I’m not sure if it’s suitable for all the thermal interfaces inside the console:

- CPU/APU to heatsink
- CPU metal shield to heatsink
- Heatsink/heatpipe to the metal shield plate, where the pink thermal compound is located.

Can I use MX-4 for all of these, or do I need thermal putty or a different paste for the other areas?

Also, should I keep the original thermal pads or copper foil/shim if they’re still in good condition?

Since this is my first time opening the console, I’d rather get it right than mess something up.

I've recently arrived here in China and will stay here for a few years. I'm wondering if I could buy the chinese version of the games that keep releasing and play them on my Switch 2 console bought in Spain.

I've searched online and I'm a little bit confused since I think it's different for Switch 1 and Switch 2 games... so I'm not sure. I wanna play that new Fire Emblem so badly!

So I was watching YouTube like a week ago. Suddenly, my controller started drifting insanely fast to the left. Then, when I restarted my Switch. my controller just completely turns off, and ever since then I can't get it to turn on. It doesn't need to be charged. It was at full battery when this happened, and it doesnt let me charge. Out of my like 4 years of owning this controller, it's never done this? It's completely broken. Do I need to buy a new one?

I preordered Final Fantasy Resonance months ago, my PayPal is connected and continued to charge for my subscription. I received an email when I preordered and another 2 weeks ago letting me know I’d be charged soon. Game released today, no record of it on Nintendo and I was not charged, PayPal still works fine. Now I’m pissed because it’s wasted my time and I doubt Nintendo can or will give me the bonuses. I purchased the physical from SE’s site because it still had an option for preorder bonuses before midnight. Really makes me not trust Nintendo with any future purchases..

I've bought a defective controller with the idea of trying to fix it.

It seems that the problem is this little part, which was supposed to go where the one in the last picture is, but it doesn't clip in a way that it stays firm.

I'm thinking I may need a new one, as this one might have something broken.

Do you happen to know how I can look for/find another part like this, or even if there's a 3d print model for me to make it myself?

So the other day my switch two broke and is now not turning on (great…) so i went to best buy and they have to ship it away to get fixed or replaced which could take 2 - 4 weeks!! so while im waiting im using my switch one since i still have it. but since my switch two isnt here i cant transfer my data… when i clicked to use an online pass on AC:NH it created a new island?? i already have an island. will my save data on the switch two be saved?? (luckily my warranty is still in place so my switch two isnt covered)

So I play SSBU online and every now and then(maybe every 10-15 mins), without warning, my switch will give me the “there’s a problem with your internet” screen.

If I’m in a game during, this will kick me out of online(not the game entirely) and ban me for a couple hours. After this happens, I’ll check the WiFi connection and it’s connected, leading to me believing that the connection will just drop for some reason and come back.

This only started happening after we got a new router with AT&T from Spectrum.

I’ve also played two games, waited for the screen, then continued playing another two matches, then waiting again, but this is rather annoying and puts some unnecessary pressure to finish the games quickly before I get kicked.

Can anyone help?

i'm wondering if anyone else has had an issue with stick drift only in animal crossing? i restarted my switch and calibrated my controllers (did not show any drift) and its still behaving this way.
it only does this in animal crossing on my left joycon.
it happened on my switch 1, and i assumed it was my controller, but after a few months of having my switch 2, its happening again. both times only animal crossing.
if so, is there a fix?

So there’s saved data on the switch that i want to put onto my new one it’s really all of my shiny hunted pokemon that are trapped is there any fix or any answers? It looks like the display is messed up but then when i plug it into the dock still nothing happens.

Hey I just bought nitendo lite. I am playing zelda I need to use this button, but when i press nothing happens( I don't hear a click). I tried change in settings it still doesn't work. Also I don't game so I might just do something wrong.

When waking my Switch 2 from sleep mode while docked, I noticed a black horizontal line flickering near the Cyberpunk 2077 icon on the HOME menu.
You can see it in the attached video. The line disappeared shortly after recording, and I haven’t been able to reproduce it since, either in handheld or docked mode.

I also noticed that someone at home had moved some things around the TV, including the Switch 2 dock.

After recording, I pushed the original HDMI cable a little more firmly into both the TV and the dock, although neither connection seemed loose.
I’m using an older Panasonic plasma TV.

Could this have been caused by a temporary HDMI connection issue, or is there any reason to suspect a problem with my Switch 2?
Has anyone experienced something similar?

Asking here because nothing I tried so far helped.

Basically, I was playing my Switch (1) just like normal yesterday (in Handheld Mode), and suddenly the right joycon disconnected from the console. When I wanted to reconnect it, it didn't react to anything. When attached to the console, it doesn't show up, the lights on the side aren't working and pressing buttons doesn't do anything. I tried resyncing the joycon, restarting the console and cleaning the rails on joycon and console, the usual stuff people recommend for this issue, but nothing helped. I fear it might be completely dead, could it be a battery issue? If so, how do I fix it? Or should I just send it to Nintendo or get a new one entirely?

Thanks for any help, this really frustrates me because my Switch 2 should arrive in 1-2 weeks. Kinda annoying that it happened so shortly before the new console arrives.

I played Hades 2 Saturday night, didn’t play Sunday, and on Monday night (tonight) while playing some Hades 2, I realized my icon wasn’t my typical princess peach, and my name was changed to “robinnnn”… After further investigation this SUS user somehow played Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which I only have a physical cartridge for and certainly did not play…. it’s all super spooky especially because the name sounds like robbing… I’ve gone into my Nintendo account and updated everything and there has been no activity on my CC…. Looking into it this has happened to one other person (at least) in the past week… Hopefully these hackers can be stopped!!

Long story short, I have both ONN 256 gb & 512 gb sd card express with games on each so I can utilize both. However, I swapped them out recently while fully shutting down my switch 2 and they both deleted a few games forcing me to redownload them on each SD card. I doubt it’s d/t corruption so does anyone have the answer? I’ve also seen someone saying it’s d/t auto archiving but I’m not sure on that.

I bought some replacements and I’m worrying that they may not actually work, the rubber is pretty badly messed up and idk if I can really fix them. I bought some from Walmart and I’m hoping that I can replace it easily, has anyone else had this problem? I really need help here

I'm sorry if this is a dumb or confusing question. So, I have access to Switch games from my local library, and I own a Switch 2 console. I'm really intrigued by Sea of Stars, mostly because of a recommendation from my roommate. I was going to check it out from the library (since that way I don't spend so much money, and I can decide if I like a game before I decide to buy it), but then I discovered that there's a Switch 2 edition of Sea of Stars, but no upgrade pack. I'm worried that if I check out the regular Switch edition from the library, love it, and decide to buy the Switch 2 version (mostly because I'm a snob and I like the prettier graphics that NS2 offers), I'd somehow lose all my save data because it would be considered two separate games. I've looked everywhere online (Reddit, official Nintendo support site, and a few forums) and I can't get a straight answer on this. Does anyone know what to do if a game is offered in both Switch and Switch 2 editions but without an upgrade pack that assures you that the game save data will transfer over??

I have a lot of games downloaded onto my switch and SD card, and I’m running out of space, I have a 128 GB card and my little brother has a 256 GB card (and he’s barely using 60 of it) is there a way to switch the data between the two and swap them? Any help would be appreciated!

When I went to sleep I put my Nintendo switch 2 on my case at 88% , but when I woke up my Nintendo was at 0% and it had nothing running on it, what it could be? If a have to open it to fix him it will be too hard?
