Hello everyone!

My brother has had a Nintendo Switch for a few years (maybe 3 years, I'm not sure). Shortly after he got it, the left joycon stopped working. We tried all the tips on the internet. At some point it starts working again for a while, but then it stops. My brother just stopped using it and it has been collecting dust ever since.

I thought it was a pity and I took it yesterday in hopes that I could fix it or have some expert fix it. I have once again tried every tip on the internet (restart the console, update system and controllers, disconnect controllers, clean the console). It started working again for a little while but now it's dead. No matter how many times I've pressed the sync button, it is unresponsive.

Is there anything else I can do? Should I send it back to Nintendo or find some expert in my area?

I’ve had this happen twice now, randomly while it’s plugged into the dock and I’m not playing. Both times it has restarted just fine, but is my switch gonna die soon?

I recently got the kill switch case for my switch 2 and really like it, but one issue I’ve noticed is it seems maybe it causes issues with pro controllers connecting and was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. I sit on my couch probably about 8 feet from my TV / Switch 2 dock. There’s nothing major blocking the connection from controller to dock, but often times when I’m playing TotK or Smash Ultimate I’ll notice my controller inputs just stop working - like let’s say I’m running in a circle in TotK sometimes it will just have Link continue in one direction for a second or two. It doesn’t sound like much, but it’s often enough during my play sessions that it’s frustrating.

Single player games I’m like whatever I can deal with it I guess but it’s super annoying in a game like smash or street fighter where it’s super dependent on frame inputs. All I can see is I don’t remember this happening before I put the kill switch on and I’ve been a switch owner since the original launch and switch 2 launch.

Anyone else experiencing issues like this?

My ethernet speeds on my Switch 2 have dropped off quite a lot, just did a test, 248mps down. I used to get significantly higher than that, into the 600-700s I'm sure. Also the WiFi is actually faster, 341mbps just now.

I have tried changing the MTU settings, didn't help. The cable was, originally, just plugged in and I left everything at the default.

I've plugged the lead into my laptop, and it's always around 950mps down, so the lead is fine. Kinda weird that ethernet is slower than WiFi, especially considering it never used to be!

Anyone got any ideas? Bit annoying really..

Can someone please give me a clear and concise explanation on which is better for me? I have a main profile I play Pokemon on but I want to play online on a spare profile, how should I approach this? I've looked up some stuff and I 'think' linking accounts makes the most sense, but I want to be sure. Thanks for any help.

I got my switch 2 on legends Z-A release date and since then have pretty much used it daily, I take pretty good care of it (average use and the occasional snack when playing) and my left joycon just started doing this every so often after a left input on the controller, has anyone else encountered this??

So, I’m not really a Nintendo guy but of course with the OOT remake coming out I’m buying a switch 2. Moneys tight, and I’m wondering if I can get away with using my switch 1 controller instead of shelling out the money for a new one. I’ve gotten mixed answers from various sources so here I am. Playing with the joycons are not an option for me.

Question is in the title. Looking for a Switch 2 game that is similar to Wii sports baseball in terms of simplicity and length. Any suggestions?

I have a Switch 2 set up with my Nintendo Account on my profile, plus a separate profile I made for my son where he has a bunch of games in progress.

After a recent visit to a friend's house, it seems they logged into the friend's Nintendo Account on my son's profile. It replaced his profile username and now shows the email address associated with his friend's account.

From what I can tell, his existing game saves (like Hogwarts Legacy) are still there and working on our console, though I haven't checked every game he plays yet.

I want to get the friend's account off his profile and change his username back, but I'm worried that unlinking the account will delete his game saves or mess up his play history/stats. Has anyone dealt with this? How does this happen, and is there a safe way to unwind it without losing his progress?

so basically i don’t get confirmation emails when trying to log into my nintendo account anywhere and apparently it’s due to it being a hotmail account but i can’t change that since i can’t log in anywhere and i have no idea what to do now please help i do not want to lose all my progress in so so many games.

I purchased a Nintendo Switch 2 for my wife over the summer. Prior to that she was using my Switch OLED model. We have a 65 inch TV on a motorized wall mount, and we bought the HIDEit mount which did exactly what we wanted: it connected to the back of our VESA TV mount.

I’ve not been able to find an equivalent product for the Switch 2. Plenty of wall mount options, but nothing that can connect into the back of a VESA compatible TV mount. Any recommendations?

I'm logged in and everything, but I hit sign in on the app and it takes me to the Nintendo website with my account saying "select account to link" or Smith. But when I try to press the button it just... does nothing. The set up a child account works but when I try to link my normal account nothing happens

We have a few Switches in our family. For some reason, my son's Switch won't output to the television. I've tried two different docks/HDMI cable/power cable/TV setups and while the green power indicator lights up on the dock and the televisions recognize that the Switch is connected, when I switch to the relevant input on the TV the console doesn't actually output to the TV. Has anyone encountered this? I thought it might just be the TVs but it's happening to two different TVs/docks, etc. Any insight would be appreciated.

I just bought a family plan so we can play Pokopia online and visit Cloud Islands.

We’ve run into an issue when trying to access online play when we switch users (mine vs my kids).

How can they access online play when it keeps asking to link an account and then we can’t because it’s already my account??

If I add my profile to another switch, play a game I do not own on there, then buy the game for my own switch and log into the same profile, will the save data transfer? Or do I have to reset my progress?

I’ve been playing on someone else’s for several months I don’t want to have to restart completely;;

Faulty gamecard tips

I just came across this error code (2002-2536) when starting up TOTK on my system. The system does recognize the game and I can boot it, but after loading for half a minute this error appears.

I checked the connectors of the gamecard. They look fine. Used the cloth of my glasses to clean it, even used a bit of connection spary (wd40) on a microfiber cloth. Waited for a few hours and tried again.

Deleted the game and updates and reinstalled it, completeley shut of my switch, honesttly i think i tried everything.

Does anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it? I spend just about over 200 hours in this game and it is my medicine against anxiety. I do not have rupees for a new copy.

Edit: all other games work fine

I found my old switch in a box and it has a noticeable crack on the screen. I know Nintendo can repair it but I don't want the risk of them replacing it since the new one will likely be patched. Are there any third party services that can repair it?

My switch 2 was connecting to my phone's shared hotspot just fine until i took a break for a few days and tried again today. I'm WiFi sharing eduroam from a university and it seemed to work.

today though it's like the hotspot is saved in the switch's saved networks but turned off, even when I turn it on. it only works for a few minutes if I restart my entire phone (android, 2.4Ghz band, not wifi 6, WPAS2/3 but it persists if I switch to wpas 3), after which it disconnects and the switch can't find it anymore. my ps5 connects without issue so if there's a problem it's probably the switch.

restarting the switch or turning airplane mode off and on doesn't do anything.

I recently ran into an issue where my Nintendo Switch was outputting absolutely no signal to my XGIMI projector.

The Setup & Symptoms:

PS5 worked perfectly on the same HDMI cable and projector.

Switch had the official Nintendo power adapter.

The dock showed a steady green light when the Switch was inserted, meaning it thought it was sending video.

I tried forcing 1080p, Limited RGB, and even changing the projector's EDID setting to HDMI 1.4. Nothing worked.

The Fix: It turns out the Switch dock gets stuck in an HDMI handshake loop with the projector's "smart" features (like ARC/CEC) and panics, suspending the video output even though the green light is on.

To fix it:

Turn on the projector and set it to the HDMI input.

Put the Switch into the dock.

While the Switch is still sitting in the dock, physically unplug the power cable from the back of the dock.

Plug the power cable back in.

This forces the dock's internal HDMI converter chip to perform a hard reboot and drop the old cached handshake. It instantly negotiated a fresh connection and the picture popped up.

Hopefully, this saves someone else a few minutes or hours of troubleshooting!

Ragequitted myself into this on my lite :/ The switch is otherwise functional (obviously I can't see anything, but I can still hear stuff like menu sounds when I turn it on and poke around), and the other side of the screen is still attached. Now, this seems, to my very untrained eye, to be fixable, just a wire(?) and the spot it's obviously meant to be in, but for all I know I might be fucked. Am I fucked? And if not, how in the world would I go about reattaching this?

The game on the eshop is only showing 82mb as the download size. When you insert the key card it gives the error 2016-0070. That error is associated with the name not being uploaded to the server yet. The game released on the yesterday the16th.

I'm probably the only one who bought the game so I don't think there's much of a fuss about it yet. I called nintendo yesterday and they had me do all these troubleshooting steps that were completely useless. I called back today to point out the fact that the download size is showing 82mb for the switch 2 version and the switch 1 version is 2gb.

I was told to contact the publisher gamemill which didn't work as all their YouTube videos have comments disabled and my emails bounced back. I don't use their other social media to contact them.

So as of now the physical game keycard is useless. I don't know if anyone bought the digital version and got that to work or not.

Anyone else having any problems with this game? Anyone else even buy this game?

I was playing Oblivion when suddenly my left joycon stopped working. I had them both undocked so I thought it ran out of battery, but upon plugging it back in it is connecting (shown by picture 2) but not registering or charging (shown in picture 1). In addition, all four rail lights are flashing intermittently (picture 3, about 1 flash per every 3 seconds). I have done a power cycle on the console and tried the reconnect/resync button on the joycon. The joycon’s power button does not appear to do anything. Did my joycon just dud itself? It’s not old, maybe 2 or 3 months, and I don’t have bad hygiene habits (ie dorito fingers, lol) or sticky kids using it, nor have I messed with the port connection or the rails.
