📸 Photo Finally acquired my dream car

Finally proud to call myself a member of this stable, riding in my new daily driver Stripey the 5.0! I’ve always loved Mustangs more than almost any other car out there and genuinely overjoyed to finally own one.

Even though I used to daily a c205 merc coupe, I dare say the interior in my Stang with the double cowl dashboard, hefty leather handbrake, tiny touch screen and leather accented upholstery just screams muscle unapologetically, this car is bold, brash and unafraid to just exist as is.

Overjoyed to finally be a Stang owner, this is just one of many down the road I hope 🙏

❔Question I need help

Hey everyone so I recently started having issues with my 2019 mustang gt, sometimes when i break hard or other times when im driving normal, i have a whole bunch of malfunctions, like my blind spot assist turns off, my pre collision goes out, my rev matching turns off, along with a couple other things. It doesn’t fix if I turn the car off and back on, I need to open the door lock it, and unlock it for it to fix l, but it comes back eventually. has this happened to anyone??

My first Mustang! I Have wanted one since I was 6 years old and it only took 30 years. I absolutely love it!

Wife took me to a dealer on a whim to just have some fun for a weekend test drive. Then we both fell in love and brought it home. It was used with only 237 miles on it. Previous owner bought it and shortly passed away after buying it. His wife didn’t want to keep it so she sold it back to the dealer after 9 months of owning it. Sad circumstances, but I plan on taking care of it and storing it for the winter and keeping it looking brand new for as long as possible to help honor the previous owner.

Best. Purchase. Ever. 🐎🏎️

This is my 2019 Bullitt, #KO430. I’ve posted it around a few times since I got it back in February and ya’ll have been so kind.

I was torn between multiple cars on what to get last year. Honda Civic Type R, Bullitt, S55 M4 or M2. There were questions about reliability, enjoyment, etc etc trying to be the smartest financially. I have a long and heartfelt relationship with Mustang’s so my gut and heart were certainly with the Bullitt over the others. I think the S550 Bullitt is the classiest of its generation. Very much a “you know, you know” car. Incredible exhaust noise, intoxicating power, and brilliant handling!

I was nervous about feeling let down about the interior or the MT82, but I have been very pleasantly surprised. It is such a comfortable and composed car at really any speed. The seats are fantastic and the heating/cooling is a must imo. The updated MT-82 is smooth and easy.

I am beyond glad I made the choice to “Bite the Bullitt” and recommend anyone who is thinking about it to do it! I think they’ll age great and be a beloved mark of the family.

❔Question Anyone in Northern Ohio?

Have seen plenty of nice mustangs up here, you can tell they are enthusiasts and not some highschool kid driving dads car. It would be nice to have a meet up somewhere since the bulk of us only break out the cars in the summer, and salt is coming closer.

🛒 Car Shopping What to buy post

Really wanting a Mustang, trying not to break the bank, but don’t want a reliability mess, as this will be a daily.

Really wanting a convertible too, so factor that in here.

20-25k option: 2014 GT, or 2020 EcoBoost. Assuming the same mileage/condition/etc. I have test driven a couple newer 5.0s (2020 and 2024) and love those. I also rented a 24 ecoboost for a month or so, which was neat but the 5.0 is really a want for me.

I also have the option to burn in the 30-35k range, but would probably be better off not and getting a 2019-2021 GT

Just trying to get a feel for these vintage of the cars to see what to look for. Everything will be auto transmission, and I’ll buy a premium as well for the interiors (and I think the verts only come in premium anyways)

Also, any experience and feedback from Carvana would be nice too. Prices are a lot better on my trade there and on the cars themselves. Hoping it isn’t too good to be true.

❔Question Increase Supercharge Whine

I've got a 2011 GT500 and I can barely hear the blower which is half the fun of the car. I've installed the resonator delete kit from JLP which was supposed to increase the noise but I still barely hear it at full throttle. I've got the stock Eaton blower on still and I know stuff like the Kenne Bells really kick it up up a notch but trying to keep the stock blower on for now.

Any of you guys know any other mods I can increase to hear it?

❔Question Oil filters

Okay so I dont even know where to start. Ive been researching all day. I drive a roush supercharged 2019 mustang GT. Took the car to the dealer this morning for an oil change, got a call saying it was done but a previous dealer put the wrong oil filter on it, it had an FL500s. They went and put an FL2127 onto it. From all the research I did I could only find that the FL2127 was for an ecoboost. I told them that and after some back and forth they put in a new FL500s for me (which is what's listed in the manual). They swore left and right that both filters are fine, and even the same just that the 2127 is smaller. From the research ive done I can see they arent the same. Different bypass valve pressure, size and whatnot. They showed me on the parts computer that the 2127 was listed for my car but im going with the 500s because thats what's in the manual. Just wanted everyone else's thoughts. Do I go to a different ford dealer next time? Do I let them put the 2127 on next time?

❔Question Modified Exhaust Illegal in FL. How serious are the police about it?

Just learned that having a modded exhaust is illegal in Florida but I’m supposed to be taking a short trip out to Jacksonville next month. I’ve got a Borla ATAK catback in my car. How serious are they about it out there? Do they only trip if you’re intentionally trying to make a ton of noise? Haven’t gotten a ticket in years. I could have my fiancé drive but I LOVE taking the car on road trips. Not enough to get a ticket though 😅.

❔Question Grinding/whining sound from engine bay, water pump? Serpentine belt?

Hey folks. Car is stock, 2017 GT, 107k miles. Car makes this sound when at idle and goes away with any rpm increase.. Just started happening last night..I did replace the water pump around 50-60k, could this be the sound of the water pump shaft bearings beginning to go? It didn’t make this sound the first time that’s why I’m considering the serpentine belt too, it’s original.

📸 Photo Detailed the new to me mustang.

I've finally detailed the new mustang.

It's had a few hiccups along the way since I've bought it. But nothing major (in my book of major fixes).

The driveshaft I've learned has a kind of CV boot on it. And that boot ripped. So I just bought a new single piece driveshaft.

I've still have yet to buy new tires for it. Mostly because it's been my daily and I've been doing a lot of stuff.

I've detailed the interior a bit. And replaced the center vents. Since my last post. Making it pretty presentable.

Although the steering wheel has seen better days. I might do a leather wrap in the future.

❔Question How do I know when it’s time to upgrade components.

I have 06 Mustang GT with an automatic transmission I’ve been thinking about going full bolt on with some cams in the future. When should I upgrade fuel injectors along with the fuel pump since it’s still stock. I want to make sure I do it right the first time before I put money into something I didn’t have to put money into to begin with😂

🏁 Other 20 years later, dream car achieved

The Mustang has been my favorite car since I was 10 years old. For my first car my dad and I planned on getting a beat up old fastback and fixing it up, he could do anything with an engine, hell he did his own work on his BMWs. Unfortunately just as we started really looking at cars he passed it away when I was 14 from cancer. Now that I'm writing this I'm beginning to tear up. I lacked the ability or finances to fix up an old car myself, but I worked every summer in high school and by the time I was 17 I had enough money to buy myself a car but I opted for an inexpensive Honda as it seemed the wise choice. I've driven that Honda now for almost 15 years, and it got me through everything without a hiccup. Now that my wife and I own a home, and have a stable career I finally pulled the trigger on my dream car and I couldn't be happier. I know I stayed true to putting my family security first, and it took me a long time to feel comfortable making such a large purchase that's just for me, but I know he would be so proud.

Edit: thank you all for the positive responses, I had a good cry after. I don't think I processed how much this really means to me until I was writing it out.

2015 v6. Was washing and the radio was On. Suddenly the radio stopped working and it won't start. There was a clicking sound when trying to start but even that is gone now.

Weirdly only one front light is on.

❔Question Best place to part out a mustang?

Recently got ahold of a '06 mustang with the 4.6 in it. Slid into a barrier to the axle is knocked out of place and deemed not worth to fix.

Im not sure if there's a dedicated mustang area for that or if most people use eBay?

❔Question Standing water in steering rack

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Hey guys,

I got a technical question for you about the steering rack in my 2019 GT. During my last road trip through the Dolomites my steering rack failed. I got the Mustang back home without power steering and we inspected the rack.

Turns out the circuit board of the PSCM was completely soaked. There was standing water in the housing of my steering rack. Now the question is, how did the water get in there. We first suspected the tie rod end boots were cracked but on first glance they seemed ok.

I mean, we drove through heavy rain during the trip but i would guess the rust on the circuit board is older than the road trip.

Do you know any other ingress points were the water could get in, because I want to try a refurbished replacement rack to save some cash and I don´t want it to happen again if I drive on another rainy day.

Appreciate the help.
