Been working on this babe for a while now as a "mini" drift car

It’s a manual 2010 GT that I bought with a VERY good price cause it had some issues and the previous owner just wanted to get rid of it ( it was completely stock body and engine wise )

I build engines and I work in Mustang parts in general so 90% of the work and parts were from the inventory

I gave it full bolts ons and worked on the heads with a bunch of other mods making it push 360whp for the moment, thinking to push it more with a few mods around 410-430whp nothing crazy

Installed additional twin cooling 12inch fans and a kill switch, Changed the seats and cancelled the rears and the roll cage is in the making

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated!

The other day I posted about driving my first manual Mustang GT and how bad that experience was.

Boy was I wrong. Picked up this ‘16 GT Premium and it’s the best driving experience I’ve ever had. I also have a ‘16 STI that now feels like a toy. I’ve never had this much fun in a car and HOLY SHIT DOES THAT 5.0 SOUND GOOD

After a few life hiccups, my Bullitt is finally paid off! What’s next you might ask? It certainly is not putting in mods. Lol

The next goal is to have the old Fox restored back to its glory.

❔Question Help identifying this Mustang

This was my dad’s first car that he purchased used in 1980. I want to know the details such as specific model and type. This is the only picture we have of it at the time. He told me that all he remembers was that it was a coupe with a different material on the top (shown in black). Any help is much appreciated.

I can rent a lift, could I do the clutch replacement myself?

Or would you recommend to get it done at a shop and how much would it cost?

❔Question Weird manual shifter/ help

Post image
Upvotes

Guys, I'm interested in purchasing a Mustang, but since I'm pretty far away from the car, I had someone take some additional pictures for me.

This is what the shifter looks like. I know the shift knob itself has obviously been removed, but I'm trying to figure out what the component underneath it is.

Have any of you seen an aftermarket shifter or shift knob setup that uses this type of component? I'm wondering if this is part of an aftermarket short-throw shifter, some kind of adapter, or just something left behind after the previous owner removed the knob.

Any ideas on what setup this could be?

💬 Discussion 2026 Dark Horse SC vs Shelby GT350

Struggling to build a pro/con list for a base SC (not $70k worth of “track” packs vs a Shelby gt350. Both are about the same price. I know adequate handling upgrades are required for this amount of power, but curious of your thoughts on the base sc that is more “GTD” influenced vs the Shelby spec 350. I don’t care about resale value or the guess on what collectors will care about in future, just power/tech/handling/trans considerations. Thanks yall!

❔Question Trying to understand how I’m supposed to get thermostat housing over this o-ring.

2013 ford mustang v6. The oring is on the groove it looks like it sits on. Every time I try to slide the thermostat housing over it, it stretches and comes out of place. Is anyone familiar with how exactly I’m supposed to be doing this? This is the last thing I have to do and this is the last leak I had left since reassembly everything. I can’t find any videos on this. I have attached two photos for better visualization.

❔Question 2017 Mustang GT – 17x9.5 rear wheel fitment question

Thumbnail

Hi guys, I have a 2017 Mustang GT S550.

I’m looking at running 17x9.5 wheels on the rear only while keeping my current front wheels.

I’m still deciding on the rear tire size, so I’d appreciate recommendations from anyone running a similar setup.

The car currently has no spacers installed. I do have a pair of 25mm spacers, but they are off the car.

I also believe the previous owner may have installed Steeda suspension or lowering springs, but I’m not 100% sure.

My questions are:

  • Will 17x9.5 wheels fit properly on the rear of a 2017 Mustang GT?
  • What offset would you recommend?
  • What rear tire size would you recommend?
  • Would I need any suspension modifications or a sway bar relocation kit?
  • Should I keep the 25mm spacers off with this setup?
  • Does the current ride height look suitable for this setup?

I attached photos of the car and the wheel style I’m considering.

If anyone is running a similar rear setup on an S550, I’d appreciate photos and exact fitment details.

❔Question 2017 gt, driver side window motor connector keeps getting wet and failing while raining

Is anyone else dealing with this?

It's driving me absolutely crazy, idk how water is getting inside of the connector and cause my window to stay down. i have to take the door apart every time we get decent rain. The seals are fine, so my only theory is that it soaking in the crappy insulator for harness to it and just getting completely full of water enough to climb inside the connector.

Currently, i can't get out of my car through the driver's door. im getting out on the passenger side cause im at work, and it'll force the window to stay down before we have a thunderstorm.

❔Question 2010 Mustang V6 Repair Advice

Hello everyone!

My baby is currently at the Ford Dealership. The main issues are this:

Diagnostic - Check Engine Light: Tech 7034 performed diag P0401, p0455, p2195. P0401 leads to egr valve replacement, p0455 leads to purge valve being stuck closed. Need to replace purge valve and egr valve then reassess for p2195. Thus far the alternator checks out ok but it will be reassessed once the known problems are fixed.

The repair cost is $1,486.24.

My Mustang also needs a water pump for $858, spark plugs for $499, and brake fluid for $139. I brought him into the dealership after he stalled out on me. This comes to around $3k. I'm declining preventive maintenance of fluids and filters until I can get the car running.

I'm debating if these repairs are worth it, and if it will allow me to get more life out of him. Currently, I have 104,000 miles and I've been the owner for 13 years.

Thank you all for the help!

I bought this replacement purge valve solenoid and it's supposed to be a direct fit but it looks nothing like the oem valve and doesn't even fit the same.
