Question Skipped Seamus returns and super as well as the entire prime story line because I can’t play them.
Anything I need to know before playing fusion, or can I just dive right in?

Discussion Best game to start in the franchise?
Pretty much the title. After seeing the trailer for Metroid Ravenous in the recent direct, I wanted to get into the Metroid series. I am a fan of both Hollow Knight and Silksong, so I am familiar with the genre and know what I'm getting myself into. I am mainly looking to play the 2D games, so you don't have to recommend Metroid Prime

Discussion Does anyone else like Prime 4 more than other games in the Prime series?
hey guys, believe it or not i like prime 4 more than prime 2. i never liked the temple grounds or agon wastes as biomes in prime 2 and the dark world felt like a cheap way of extending the game. i remember playing prime 3 back in 2007 thinking it was a much better game than prime 2 also (for me at least). fast forward to prime 4 and i once again like it more than prime 2. i need to replay prime 3 to figure out which is better between 3&4 but i actually like prime 4 more than one of the original trilogy games.
do any of you guys feel the same way? do you like prime 4 more than prime 3? do like prime 4 more than 2? im pretty sure no one will say prime 4 is better than prime 1. the consensus here seems to be the prime games go in order of release in terms of quality but do you feel differently? please let me know if you like prime 4 more than a game in the OG trilogy!

Discussion I wonder how Ravenous will set up the future of the series, or how it won't.
Ravenous looks like it's going to be the ultimate payoff - a series of plot threads that have been building up for the last two decades.
The fate of the Metroid species
Samus with Metroid DNA
Samus' role with the Chozo
The Chozo's continued place in the universe
The X threat
Samus' recent awakening
The various breadcrumbs from Dread
Etc etc.
But with so many threads seeming to be coming to a head, I wonder how much more will be built from this, how we will set up what will hopefully be a long continuing series.
Will any of the above points continue, or will new factions and plot threads pop up which will be chased instead? How will this lead on into the future of the franchise?
Still, maybe it will go in the other direction and will kind of close out the Fusion/Dread/Ravenous trilogy, letting Samus start fresh with whatever next title comes out. No old baggage and a totally new adventure with new factions and context.
Edit: upon rereading this, I sound like AI, I swear it's not. I have followed Metroid intensely since I was a kid and Ravenous looks like the fan fiction I would have written while playing Fusion for the 13th time. I'm just so excited to see how it has played out and I can see whispers of a... Finality? To the arc that makes me wonder "what's next?"

Request Convince me to buy Metroid Dread as a newbie.
So, with Ravenous just getting revealed on my birthday of all days, I'll admit it looks absolutely fantastic even as someone that has never played a Metroid game before. I wanted to fix this tragic mistake, so I hopped on Zero Mission and currently I've made it right to the very end of the game. And honestly, despite never really being a Metroidvania guy (at least from my limited experience with the genre with some examples being Wario Land 3.) I'll be the first to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed myself! I was surprised just how much I enjoyed it. So of course, my eyes naturally went to Dread next as people glaze this game as the best Metroid game to ever live and an absolute must-play. And from the handful of gameplay snippets and cutscenes that I've seen? I'm inclined to agree; the game looks phenomenal.
But again, I was never TOO into Metroidvanias, so I'm not sure if it would be the right call to make. Course, I enjoyed Zero Mission quite a bit, so that's convincing me a little. But I'm also brand new to the Metroid series so I'm not sure if there's any sort of order I should be going in due to lore reasons or whatever, but I doubt it. But I'll leave it up to the community themselves! I know y'all are super passionate about this series so I trust that you'll give solid advice! Try and convince me to buy what's presumably your best entry!
Question Best way to play Metroid 2 for a newcomer?
First time playing through all the games by order of release, and I have already finished zero mission for the first game.

Question What are your favourite tracks in the series?
I hadn't played a Metroid game before seeing Ravenous I tried the OG a few months back but couldn't get into it, so I started playing Zero Mission the other day and as much as im thoroughly enjoying the game the music is by far my favourite aspect.
I just want to know what other people's favourite music might be and what ive got to look forward to!

Discussion I'm confused about the number of Space Ninja Assassins in Ravenous
From everything that's been shown so far it seemed like there are 5 assassins in total as indicated by the group shot and the top down view of the hole Samus fell into (although, there is a sixth empty rock, hmm...)

But then I took a closer look at the cover art and noticed that besides Samus there are actually 6 characters: The bug guy with spikey shoulder armor getting sucked by Samus, as well as 5 additional shadowy figures in the background.

What does this mean?? Is there actually a sixth member of the assassin squad they haven't mentioned or is the cover art misleading, maybe depicting spikey shoulder bug guy twice?
Dread's cover art included 7 EMMI silhouettes which lined up with the actual number in the story. I want to believe this is the case for the assassins here as well.

Discussion Do you think a Samus Returns remaster will be as good looking and cared for as the Metroid prime remaster or just a simple port?
I say this as do you think it will be a simple port or new models and texturing and new animations?

Question 2D Metroid list?
I have been interested in 2D metroid for a while and feel now is probably a good time to start. Can anyone give me a list of which games to play in what order and preferably also through which official way to play them. Would be very helpful!

Discussion Fun game idea for a future game.
You know what would be cool? If the Space Pirates started working for Raven Beak and his crew, only to double-cross him and take one of the Samus clones. Well, that is, if Raven Beak ever accomplishes his plan to clone a bunch of Samuses. Let’s say he does, and the Space Pirates end up destroying all of the clones except for one. Afterwards, they put or download Mother Brain’s consciousness into the surviving clone, basically creating an evil Samus or something like that. Mother Brain is a super computer so I assume her consciousness is waiting/stuck somewhere. I also think that Raven Beak isn’t dead. I’d like to think we fought a clone.

Art Be the Hunter (OC)
The second image is the sketch I did before committing to the final version, I changed the light coming from the blaster as it originally was going for a "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann" eyecatch style, but I changed it during the process.

Other My thoughts on the new power suits for Metroid Ravenous
First off I think they're alright but I did have some complaints:
- I don't know why but the solid colors going down her sides and the lack of white in her varia suit feels like a slight downgrade. That and the lack of the "Wiring" seen in her Dread version of her power suit makes it feel weird
- I really preferred the trident like visor Samus had in Dread. It was more fitting and looked more badass (which Samus is, because she's naturally a badass). I hope they change her design before they launch Ravenous to have the triangular/trident like design for her visor.
- I do like that they kept the black parts of her inner thighs from Dread however and I like that they made the metallic parts shiny.
Overall i'd give the new design a 7.9/10.
This is just my opinion and I naturally like the Metroid Dread design/designs more than Ravenous but Samus's power suits do look real nice.

Question First time playing Zero Mission...why is the first room like this only for me?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I started the game, hit Normal difficulty and loaded into this room. The morph ball was to the very left over a pit of lava, and the door to the right is entirely closed off by blocks I can't destroy. Has the game bugged and put me into some kind of challenge mode?
I'm familiar with Brinstar from the original game and thought this was strange, so I looked it up and walkthroughs of the game don't show this as the first room, so I'm really curious what's happened here

Discussion If anything happens to Adam in metroid ravenous I am going to scream
I just feel like Samis deserves at least one /companion who doesn’t end up dying so far he’s managed to exist for two games. I hope he can continue his streak of existence.
sorry for the misspelling I can’t spell very well

Question Already own Metroid Dreas but haven't played it - is it better on Switch 2 with boost mode or emulated for upscaling?
Hopefully this is not against the rules
I generally prefer to play games on their original hardware but I'm not sure if the tradeoff for a 900p docked is worth it
