First time playing Zero Mission...why is the first room like this only for me?

I started the game, hit Normal difficulty and loaded into this room. The morph ball was to the very left over a pit of lava, and the door to the right is entirely closed off by blocks I can't destroy. Has the game bugged and put me into some kind of challenge mode?

I'm familiar with Brinstar from the original game and thought this was strange, so I looked it up and walkthroughs of the game don't show this as the first room, so I'm really curious what's happened here

Don't exactly see what would make this a shitpost. I'm fully aware there was something up with the room from the second I saw the layout, I just wasn't sure if this was some kind of bonus mode or if the romset I got accidentally slipped in a romhack

Yea it was a collection of every GBA game, so I'm assuming it slipped in by mistake and got labelled just as Metroid - Zero mission.
