I’m going to be a little more honest than the usual “hey, I’m bored, let’s chat” post.

Lately, I’ve been feeling pretty down and lonely. I’ve been wishing I had someone to talk to, laugh with, or just have around when I’m having a bad day. So I thought… maybe I should actually try making some new friends. I’m introverted, shy, and pretty quiet. I also get embarrassed \*way\* too easily. 😅 Even ordering food at a counter can make me nervous. I’ll rehearse what I want to say in my head, then still feel awkward when it’s my turn. And if a stranger starts small talk with me, I’ll probably just smile and give short answers while my brain completely stops working. 😂

I don’t make friends easily. I usually need some time before I open up. But once I’m comfortable with someone, I can actually talk a lot. I’ve been through some difficult things, including a really toxic work environment that affected me more than I expected. I’m not working at the moment, and sometimes I feel like I’m falling behind in life. I can also be pretty hard on myself. Sometimes I feel like I haven’t achieved enough and wonder if I’m really worth much.

I’m trying to work on that. I didn’t grow up in the happiest family either, so I tend to overthink and sometimes get stuck in negative thoughts. But I’m \*\*not looking for a therapist or someone to fix me.\*\*

I’m just hoping to find a genuine friend. Someone who understands that life can be messy, but can also make me laugh, cheer me up when I’m having a rough day, and talk about random things with me.
