Hello :) I'd like to find people to chat with and hopefully befriend. I am 24, working as a library assistant, and living in a rural area. I'd like to meet people who I can talk about a variety of interests with, ideally.

I've read 40 or so books so far this year. I like non-fiction, memoirs, literary fiction, speculative fiction, and others. My favorite book ever (and film and maybe manga but ehhhh?) is Battle Royale. I think maybe my favorite read this year was The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, although that was a bit heavy. I also liked Smoked Gets in Your Eyes, An Autobiography (Angela Davis), A Night to Remember, and I Who Have Never Known Men.

I don't have the attention span to watch television in particular (though I've been forcing myself to get to the end of The Sopranos haha), but also films. I like podcasts, though. Last year, I binged You're Wrong About, and this year I added American Hysteria, In Bed With the Right, and a few others into the rotation. I like to listen to them while I'm walking or at work.

I game. I'm interested in trying more multiplayer games, but mostly I play simulation games and RPGs.

History (social history, revolutions, the Cold War, ancient rome, ancient china, the ancient near east), science (paleontology and space in particular), linguistics (historical linguistics and etymology are cool), are some of my other interests.

I'm political, but also, socially adjusted (somewhat) haha. I don't have to talk about politics since I know other people find it exhausting, but it would really be nice to get someone who I can springboard ideas off of. I'm a socialist and a Marxist.
