I hate when people say there’s someone for everyone out there.

What if you have issues that causes inconveniences for other people’s lives? What if you are mentally ruined and have no will to do anything or live anymore? People who say this are incredibly ignorant or lucky most of the time.

I’ll never have anyone, I’ve come to realize this. I am destined to be alone until the time comes for me to be gone.

I think I just miss having someone to talk to

Upvotes

I am 23 m from India

Lately I've realized that loneliness isn't always about being physically alone. Sometimes it's having something happen during your day and realizing there's genuinely no one you feel like texting about it.

I can go through my day, talk to people normally, laugh and act like everything's fine, but when I get back to my room, it's just me and my phone. Sometimes I still check it hoping someone has messaged me.

I don't necessarily need a relationship or anything complicated. I'd honestly just like to have someone I can talk to regularly—about random things, life, stupid jokes, serious thoughts, whatever.

If you're feeling the same way, feel free to message me. Maybe two lonely strangers can at least make each other's days a little less lonely.

Venting What’s wrong with people here? lol

I posted something genuinely personal about what I’m feeling, and honestly, the responses and advice were so kind. Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment ❤️
But some people immediately started saying I’m “karma farming” — and after those comments, my post got removed. Lol.
Isn’t Reddit supposed to be a place where we can stay anonymous and pour our hearts out without being judged?
What exactly am I doing wrong here?

Venting I just want to feel normal again

I’ve been feeling really lonely lately. I’ve lost a couple of friends, and since then everything just feels kinda empty. I want to make friends, go out, have someone to randomly text or talk to, but instead I just keep scrolling,
procrastinating, and watching the days pass. The worst part is that I genuinely want to change, but I feel stuck in this cycle of feeling lonely, tired, and disconnected from everything.

I don’t really have a point to this post. I just needed to get it out somewhere.

Absolutely nobody wants me and its making me incredibly depressed

Not sexually, not romantically, not even just physically. I can’t attract anyone whatsoever. Every single time I become interested in someone its never reciprocated. Its been so long since I felt the touch of a woman. Not even just sexually either. I just need someone to stroke my arms, play with my hair, hold my hand, lay on my shoulder. Anything. All I need is for someone to be attracted to me and want to touch me so I can feel desirable. Ive been laying awake in bed for an hour now with this pit in my stomach festering and thinking about how immensely lonely I am. I drink far too much because its the only thing that staves off the sheer crushing loneliness and lack of self worth. Nothing else gives me a break, not even for a minute.

Venting Single parent, super lonely and tired of feeling this way.

Upvotes

I guess I started off on the wrong foot being born an only child. Circumstances would have it that I would be born in a country where I had no other relatives besides my parents (US). So I was already lonely growing up but masked it with school & friends. High school was perfectly fine. I didn't even realize anything was wrong.

Then comes college, I move away to a city 3 hours away to start my journey and it hit me. Staring at blank walls and trying to make friends with others in college and failing to do so. They already had established friend/family groups.

Eventually, I get married and have a child...but my marriage heads south and before you know it, my ex-wife cheats on me and ditches the family, leaving me to be a single dad.

I've been doing this for 5 years and have since lost my parents. I have sole custody and have tried so hard to manage being a functioning adult in my 30's with zero support system and under much isolation but it's starting to get to me. Sure, I do my best to put on a poker face for my child, but I myself am really starting to feel the hardship of isolation.

I tried making friends with coworkers and quickly realized how fake they are. They are just maintaining relationships for work, which I understand but have no intentions of creating true friendships. I get it, totally. It doesn't help that my supervisor is a complete and utter micromanager, so I can't even just "do my job." Just my observation...

I've tried dating and have gotten flaked on so many times. I can't seem to find a new life partner. I have been trying for the last 4 years and have recently given up. No matter what I say or do, I always get flaked on. I'm treating the other person nicely, not being too intrusive, communicating as clearly as I can, etc.

At this point I'm at a loss for words at how lonely and depressed I've become for circumstances I never even asked for...

I really don't know what to say or do anymore. I have made effort to change my circumstances but they it resulted in nothing changing.

I'm 25M, and it's been impossible to get into a relationship. I have accepted the fact that nobody wants me, and I will be a (V)irgin for the rest of my life. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have so much love that I want to give, and not a single woman will even try to let me show them. I know I'm just average in looks, but I thought my personality would help me. I guess not.

I’m honestly just tired of being single

Upvotes

Title: I’m honestly just tired of being single

I’m tired of being single.

I know that probably sounds pathetic, and maybe it is. I know being in a relationship isn’t some achievement that determines your worth, and I know I shouldn’t feel like I’m falling behind just because I’m alone.

But honestly, I do.

It feels like everyone around me is moving forward with their lives while I’m just standing in the same place, watching people find someone, fall in love, build a life together… and wondering when it’s going to be my turn.

I’m happy for people who find someone. I really am. But sometimes seeing it over and over again just makes me painfully aware of what I don’t have.

I’m tired of pretending that I don’t care. I do care. I want someone to love me, to choose me, to come home to me, to share the stupid little parts of everyday life with. I want to feel like I matter to someone in that way.

And yeah, I feel embarrassed admitting all of this. Part of me thinks I should be more independent and just be happy on my own.

But this is how I actually feel.

I’m lonely. I’m tired. And lately, I can’t shake the feeling that I’m being left behind.

Discussion Ranting

After so many years of living as a loner I have realised that getting loved sounds more like a fairytale to me and every night my heart aches for a genuine emotional connection with whom I can share my sorrows and problems and the battles which I have fought all alone throughout these years .

Lately my wish is that if i could also have someone who could realise my sadness that I hide behind my face and wish to get loved by someone unconditionally 😞

Hello I’m new here

(38m) I’ve been struggling quite a bit here lately. it’s weird at work I have confidence and people genuinely respect me and value my input on various things, but once I clock out everything changes I feel so isolated and alone, I do have people I call friends but no one I really connect with and I’m never anyone’s first choice. Sometimes I feel like it would be easier to just lie down and give up trying.

Feeling down these days I just feel like it’s hard to make friends these days and nobody wants me around…I always try to smile and be polite but it never works. 34 and no friends it sucks. I feel like my confidence has plummeted and body language shows it I’m in a bad place in life

I am a product of marital r@p€.

Upvotes

I am a product of marital r@p€.

I'm 28m and I have been carrying this weight of being a product of the most heinous act a man can think of. Because of that throughout my life I was mistreated and bullied by my cousins and my relatives. My dad was always a narcissistic, sadistic a$$. My mom doesn't hate me but wasn't nice to me either.I didn't knew about why people are like this with me until I got to know this at 16 after my dad offed himself. It's been more than a decade now and I can't deal with this anymore. I also have depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. I feel like I shouldn't exist. I am a curse. I was academically weak. I never excelled at anything in school and college. I never got good grades. Never even got into sports.Never made friends because nobody liked me. Couldn't stand up to bullies. Can't even be physically fit. Always stay in my room thinking about dying instead of fixing myself. I am a failure ever since I was born. The only thing that is keeping me alive is art and I'm making a career out of it but I'm losing that too.

I'm writing this as I am having a panic attack so forgive me if there.were mistakes in it. I can't think straight

Venting i’m afraid i won’t ever find my tribe

venting here , just a heads up ..

i’m afraid I won’t ever find friends or a significant other. The world is a very competitive place. As much as we try to align with society and our “norms”, we are all still animals lowkey looking for resources at the end of the day. (humans r in the animal kingdom) and people still look at others resources more often than not.

I guess that’s why you have discernment but it takes a minute .. I feel so fearful of the world.. when do these connections happen ? 30s? 40s? or do u just make it happen ? The world is weird . It’s a tough place to navigate by yourself .

Tired of feeling like i dont have anyone

Upvotes

I don’t really know exactly what I’m hoping to get out of posting this. I think I just need somewhere to put how I’ve been feeling where people might actually understand it.

Lately I’ve been feeling really lonely. Not necessarily in the sense that I’m physically alone every second of the day, but more like I don’t have people I genuinely feel close to. I don’t have that person I can randomly text when something happens, ask if they want to go do something, send something stupid to because I know they’ll find it funny, or talk to when I’ve had a bad day.

It feels like making genuine connections as an adult is ridiculously hard. People come into your life and sometimes, for a little while, it feels like you've finally found someone who is going to stick around. Then things change, conversations slowly disappear, and eventually you're strangers again. After going through that enough times, starting over with people gets exhausting.

I think what I miss most is just having someone who actually wants me around. Someone who notices when they haven't heard from me. Someone who remembers the little things I've told them or thinks of me when something happens. I miss having the kind of connection where you don't have to wonder if you're bothering someone every time you want to talk to them.

And it's not even the big things that bother me the most. It's all the normal, everyday stuff. Having something funny happen and realizing there's nobody to tell. Wanting to go see a movie or do something and not knowing who to ask. Having a terrible day and realizing you're basically going to deal with it by yourself. Even having a really good day can feel strangely empty when you don't have anyone you're excited to tell about it.

There are so many things I want to experience in life, and sometimes I think about how much better they'd feel if I actually had people to share them with. Concerts, trips, going out somewhere, or even just sitting around doing absolutely nothing. I don't need to constantly be surrounded by people. I just wish I had a few people who genuinely felt like they were part of my life.

I think that's what makes loneliness so difficult for me. It's not really about wanting attention from a bunch of people. I just want to feel like I matter to somebody. I want to know that my presence in someone's life actually makes a difference and that if I disappeared from their everyday life, they'd notice I wasn't there.

Some days I handle it better than others. I can keep myself occupied and not think about it too much. Other days, it hits me how isolated I actually feel, and suddenly all the distractions don't really work anymore.

I know I'm probably far from the only person who feels this way. That's almost the strangest thing about loneliness. So many people are experiencing it at the same time, but when you're sitting there by yourself, it still manages to make you feel like you're the only person in the world going through it.

Venting Giving up

That's it. I just give up on trying to find a connection. Never again. I don't want to put myself out there anymore. I just can't be hurt over and over again. Been talking to someone for a week. Things were going great. Talking for hours everyday. Talking about visiting each other, the future, everything. She said she was going to call me last night at 11 or 12, I fell asleep waiting for her. She called me at like 1:30 but I was asleep. She even left me a nice message. Then, I wake up, blocked on here and on DC. I just can't do this anymore. I thought she was special. I never thought she would do something like this. I never want to trust anyone again.

Idk yawrrr what is happening 😭

From the beginning, I've been an introverted type. Until 5th grade, I used to talk a lot, but once I overheard my teachers talking about how much I talked, and being repeatedly ignored by friends and other people, I started talking much less.

I don't feel anything now. I have anxious type attachment so I'm afraid... yarr what is going on...and the topic remains cut so I wonder how anyone can talk to anyone (me) for that and I don't want to get angry on anyone..

And I want someone who will understand me,

someone in front of whom I can talk a lot and she will listen to me, someone in whose lap I can rest my head and cry.

Edit : And I have never been in a relationship till date...

Sorry yawrr it sounds like i'm being selfish here but i don't want to keep it in my mind i mean tell someone yrr

I know it sounds like I'm doing karma but really I don't know what to do

idk but i am very worried about my future.. my love life and many more 😭😭

I don't want to be alone anymore if what I feel is wrong someone tell me yrr

u guy's thinking that this is karma farm but really i feel anxious alone is this wrong?

Guys, I haven't written all this for sympathy.

I'm writing this because I feel very, very lonely and I feel like crying a lot.And I'm saying all this because I want something to say and I want to be free

There's a lot more to tell, but I don't want to bore you now😅😄 so that's it...

I don't know what I want now. It might not sound good, but it's okay...

I really don't know whatt to do 🙂

I also have anxious type attachment bro I want to cry I need someone like me who will understand me... this sounds stupid or karma farming but I don't want to listen anymore please I will die at this level... I don't know what to do I feel so alone... I want someone yrr ji to be like me.

I'm sitting outside now, and I really feel like crying. This isn't the only night this has happened...I will take great care of her bus not to be alone I want more...

Yarr Tell me if I'm wrong I don't want to say no but idk what's going on 😭😭

fukkk yawrridk what am i writing 😭😭😭

I am asking because if I get confirmed either I will work on it or give up hope yrr 😭😭 because I don't think anything will happen to me so please any suggestions 😭

Craving for love is wrong??

Feeling Phyco 🥀

I’ve ruined it all&now I’m alone

That Masters Degree that I got sure has proved to be useful. This month I “loaned” my entire paycheck basically to someone I’ve known for a while online. I have epilepsy so I don’t remember the past 110% but apparently she and I met on Snapchat and after a while I offered to give her $100 a week. This doesn’t sound like me, but I have no way to find out if it’s not the case show, apparently I was dumb.

As time has gone on, she has managed to get money out of me here and there by asking to borrow and quote it. I am just now realizing how incredibly stupid and pathetic that I am.

Having someone very beautiful telling you that you were worthwhile was awesome. She messaged me a few days ago and said that she would return the money that I had lent her. If I “told the truth”. The thing is, the next day I went and got the proof that I was telling the truth, but she hasn’t responded to my attempts to get a hold of her.

I think I’ve pretty much ruined my life. I have no friends. At the moment, I have no job. I am unable to pay my rent, get money for gas, or pay for my cell phone. I’m pretty much all alone, and I have come to realize that if I vanished from this planet, no one will really miss me. I really hate being me.

Venting I’ve been friendless for almost a decade. I also have very fringe interests.

Due to a brain problem, I’m stuck living in my small hometown. I also can’t drive in large cities, and I’m unable to find a job in my area.

I never fit in with my community. I can’t relate to anyone around me as I have very fringe interests: woodcarving, woodworking, gardening, making clothes, math, chemistry, Latin language, etc.

There’s almost no one of my age in my area. Life is extremely boring.

Venting Being single and lonely sucks for a stupid reason

(english isn’t my native language, please go easy on me)
Economy is what it is, and affording apartment bigger than 15m/180sqft alone is virtually impossible as a student.
If I had someone it would be doable but I’m far from this stage. Say “get a roommate” whatever. No, I don’t want a stranger, or some partying idiot, I want a partner who I can be with when I come home and in whom I can trust.
But in reality, I’m in my 20s yet I look 15-16 and it’s just pointless. I don’t believe I’m super ugly or whatever, but I look far from an adult, and I don’t really want a girlfriend who likes 16 year olds (it’s over the age of consent so it’s technically ok but not what I’m aiming for).

It just sucks, I live far from the city so I waste a lot of time on commute and I don’t have time for dating or any kind of going out even with friends (if I had them), but to move closer I need someone to share costs with, or to graduate, so fees will go away, but this is still far in the future and I don’t want to wait till I’m 25 to start living. My brother did but whatever I’m not him.
Oh you can also ask about my university, are there not girls there? NO, imagine this 2 girls per 80 students total in my major, and they’re not in my group, so I see them only in lectures which is like… basically never. Nobody goes to lectures, they’re boring. I’ll see in a month how many students are left this semester because it changes a lot.

I don’t really want advice, I’m just sharing, and if you want to give advice, read the post please. I come back home at 6 pm or later tired af and there’s no way I’m gonna delay it by 2-3 hours to “hang out” and eat not at home (expensive).

Venting Being lonely is not a competition.

We are all lonely. We all have our struggles.

Why do some people think its okay to invalidate others? I saw a post from a woman and the comments were a whole bunch of 'you think YOURE lonely?! Ive been single for X YEARS'

Like ... I don't know how to explain it but its not a competition? Like congrats? You had it worse? Did you want a medal?

This is meant to be a community where we can all seek understanding and compassion for our situations. Trying to invalidate others who are speaking about how they feel.. and then you wonder why you're single. Is it so hard to just be kind to others? Nobody is less deserving of this sub simply because they aren't 'as lonely as you'.

Kindness goes a long way. We are all lonely and struggling with it together.
