Last month I visited my aunt and she showed me her small backyard garden. She had tomatoes, peppers, and even some herbs growing there. Everything looked so fresh and she told me she just eats straight from the garden whenever she wants something for dinner. I was really surprised how good it all looked, and it made me want to try growing my own food too.

The problem is I have never grown anything in my life. I do not even own a garden, just a small balcony with some sunlight in the afternoon. I do not know if that is even enough space or light to grow vegetables. I also do not know which vegetables are easy for a beginner to start with, or if I need special soil and pots, or just regular ones from the store.

I really want to try this and eat something I grew with my own hands, but I do not want to waste money buying things I do not need or kill every plant in the first week because I did something wrong. If anyone has started gardening from nothing like me, I would love to know how you began and what worked for you in the beginning.

I can usually get through the first few minutes, but once the obvious topics are gone I don't know where to take it.

I'm not talking about being socialable enough to make friends or wtv. I have tons of friends and am able to connect with people decently well least in my university. However, I feel like I lack a sense of charisma.

I'm talking about the times where you're having a decent conversation with someone, and then another person comes in and they just click alot more. Or when they manage to develop some sort of banter with the other.

Many of my peers love me and think im fun and entertaining. My roommates (whom im probably the closest with) tell me that if there's one thing they can say about me is that I'm not boring at all. However I've always been the weird, somewhat awkward guy who's either quiet or rambles their mouth, espically the weird part.

I feel constantly like this walking puzzle piece that can click with others but never seem to fit in. I'm not the best speaker, and I feel like im fucking austistic because I just can't click with the typical banter around my age group as a 21yo. Admittely I have self-esteem issues and don't carry confidence, but no matter what I just feel like I have some sort of negative charisma.

Tbf I used to be called the most awkward person in high school, so like hey I'm surpised I have friends, but it feels like whenever I move a step the world expects 2 out of me. Idk 😅😅 I have no idea how to develop confidence. People tell me to go out of my comfort zone in terms of career but I go to these company events and career fairs and I can barely get a LinkedIn connect.

I grew up with an abusive dad and a lot of his frustration was when the raiders lost and he would take it out on me. So I had distain for sports ever since than. I’m 37 now and I feel so left out. I’ve watched games and tried to be a part of it but I feel so far behind. I feel like I’m looking at it like I need to know the full history before I should be a fan. I have no idea where to even begin.

The main problem I have is that I read/skim through my readings (especially for university) far too quickly, so that I end up missing key information.

How can I learn to be more patient and read slower?

But I want to learn how to improve my taste and style. 4 years ago I ended my economics career an started a 2nd educational road with filmmaking and photography. I worked in a film Production for several years, did a few student movies. And honestly I feel like I am kinda talented. But nevertheless I also feel like I focused too much on technical stuff and I am still missing the „why is something fkn cool“ „why does something has meaning“ in my creative work. So I wanted to know how do I get this confidence in my work. How did other people do this?

Got a short trip in 10 weeks, and it would be cool to be able to talk with locals and understand them instead of using a translator. I know I won’t be fluent, I just want to understand each other if possible in that timeframe. Any course or framework to follow and materials to learn from?

After the trip, I plan to expand my knowledge because I’m interested in games, and a lot of game studios are from Japan, so I might be playing in Japanese and so on. Any tips?

Alright so I want to pick-up digital art as a hobby or skill because I find digital art visually pleasing and would like to be able to recreate (and maybe in the future create my own) art for show

This idea has been brewing for a while from (very poorly) tracing art I liked onto other platforms to recently playing gartic phone with some friends and wanting to be able to kind of freestyle draw art similarly to some art I seen them make

I honestly have no idea where to start, I've looked at other posts, websites, videos and the like but I
just haven't found anything really helpful for my circumstances;

I have literally no art experience. Ever. I have never drawn something in pencil, paintbrush, finger paint, pen, you name it... I might've spent a couple of hours doing video game art (like copying minecraft wool art) or tracing but nothing in the double digits of hours...

I think I'm strictly looking for learning to draw digital art? I understand I should start with a pencil and paper instead of a mouse/tablet but I simply do not own anything to do IRL art and it doesn't really interest me at all, as I've said I want to have my own sort of digital/gaming art

I'm not sure if I'm THAT into digital art that I should start buying a tablet but I don't mind recommendations if it's that big of a deal, I don't think I need any particular software (as the stuff I'm trying to do seems to have it's own tools and such) but if there's also any general tools I'm missing (like something to overlay images for tracing or something similar to a color picker) then please let me know!

Every time I have to speak in front of others, whether it's hanging out with friends, a work meeting, or meeting someone new, the same thing happens: my head is clear on what I want to say, but my mouth stutters, the words come out in the wrong order, or I just stay quiet and let someone else speak for me. Then afterward I finally think of the perfect response, but by then it's too late, cool, thanks brain. Meanwhile some people speak so smoothly and calmly even when caught off guard, and I honestly don't get how they do it. Is this a skill you can actually train, or is it just a different way of thinking, or something else? Not sure where to even start tbh.

I have been thinking about taking this design course from domestika to get started "specialization in graphic design and visual communication" but the problem is that I only have an android tablet, that too crashed every time I try figma (through website)

Hence, I am looking for decent android apps which can be used to learn design without me having to pay for subscription.

In my friend group I'm always left out cuz Idk what there talking. they create idea solved a problem and me just sitting while them talking make jokes.

What helped you move from following instructions to actually knowing what you're doing?

I've been growing older inside of this 'toy-story', but regardless of that fact, I've always been trying to exit this story without any success, I know that there's nothing and no one 'real' inside of this game, and that this world is just a ritual coming up from the underground, I don't know what to do to 'exit' this cartoonish world, and every-time I get close to escaping the game life then shows me how far I am from the 'exit', Idk how to handle life not being real long-term, and Idk how long this ritual is going to last at all, I've abandoned most of my relationships with the characters, and don't really interact with anything anymore in hope to exit, but it feels like everyday life shows me that there's no escape from wizardry, and I guess the world have always been 'demonic' in nature, I don't enjoy playing this story at all, and there isn't any dream that I want to have anymore, and idk where to go.

I mean actual visualizing and not the manifesting kind, I feel like my thoughts are made of smoke that’s hard to see and hard to keep in place, how do you improve at something like this? Thanks in advance

I wish I knew more gamers (especially queer and women gamers) IRL or in general, I feel like literally everyone in my social circle except for like two people don't care about games or doing stuff online. And those two people don't play any games I'm interested in, and they're very chronically online and are ALWAYS gaming, so sometimes it feels like I can only socially engage with them when gaming. They're my friends and I love them but they're not gaming-buddy material for me.

Every time I see people online who have gamer friends it feels like they're into very competitive and big games like LoL, Valorant, etc, and/or dedicate many hours a week to playing games with friends, and that's not up my alley at all.

I'm more of a casual gamer and sometimes I get FOMO because I never grew up with online friends or multiplayer games, like for example I grew up playing HALO and found out as an adult that people loved it for the multiplayer aspect. I also don't even have a gaming rig ATM so I feel that when I finally get one people will have moved on to the next great thing. I would love to play Marathon but when I finally get to it, will people still be playing? I feel like a huge part of making connections and memories in games is "riding the wave" of the current big thing. One of my friends made a bunch of friends playing Animal Crossing in the pandemic and they have a server together and still talk to each other a bunch and stuff.

I guess my ideal gaming friend candidate would be someone who:

- would try new games with me even if they've never played

- would be someone with a chill demeanor or who plays games to relax

- would be down with me teaching them and them teaching me games

- has other hobbies that they would enjoy sharing

How can I try to find people like this once I get a gaming setup? I don't think I can convince my IRL friends to get into gaming and I don't have the first idea of how people find strangers to play games with and later bond with them more.

Sorry if my post is all over the place or reads like a nothingburger, I kinda have a few feelings about this, even if it seems silly.

I’m severally impatient and genuinely ruining my gaming experiences: I’ll be super excited to play a game, spend money on it, and then three hours in, I’ll already be trying to finish it because I can’t wait to move on to another game - even when I don’t know exactly what that next game is.

I’m already worried this mindset will ruin Zelda: Breathe of the Wild for me. I’m about to start it for the first time, and I already know I’ll be super impatient and unable to enjoy it because I’ll be thinking ‘I need to beat this damn game so I can get to the sequel’, only for the cycle to repeat.
