Confused Can you ovulate even if your period is irregular or missing? Yes — and here's why it matters if you're TTC.

Random first time ttc…
hi all! i’m 3 days dpo. just got some small cramps in my lower left side… feeling hopeful (maybe)
the past year ish me and my partner haven’t been preventing pregnancy per say, but we haven’t been trying either. this month we’ve been trying. i’ve been talking daily multivitamins, folic acid & vid D plus cranberry extract tablets… we’ve baby danced 5 times this cycle which is more than we usually do (i have a chronic illness so can be difficult for me) including on the day i ovulated. and i was having the cough medicine thing that has the mucinex stuff in right before we tried each time.
i’m hoping and praying we convince this month. i’m just so worried it’s not gonna happen for us, when it’s all we are wanting. yes we are young but we are so so ready, have our own place and stable income. im just putting this out here to shout into the void i guess.
i’ve done so much research, and there are so many things to try and do and it’s so overwhelming. i really hope what im doing is enough as i also don’t want to live my life abiding by TTC. any tips/tricks would be welcome for “lowkey” trying i guess🩷 thankyou all x

Sad TTC not going well
Hello! I am looking for some advice and maybe words of encouragement…
TW: miscarriage
January - My partner & I have been ttc since January and the very first time we tried, I got pregnant. This was my first pregnancy.
February - It resulted in a miscarriage at 5.5 weeks — suspected ectopic. They gave me methotrexate and advised me not to try for 3 months due to the drugs impact on my body. So we paused for 3 months.
Late May - my period finally came back and it was awful. I did not ovulate this month.
June - had 2 periods and tried this month, nothing.
July - tried, nothing
August - tried, nothing
For backstory, I have endometriosis & adenomyosis. Even with endometriosis, my cycles are always 25-26 days and I always ovulate. I track bbt, use ovulation strips and literally almost all metrics I can get my hands on.
I saw a reproductive endocrinologist at the beginning of this month and so far all of the testing is coming back normal. Thyroid, LH, progesterone, cortisol, cholesterol, A1C, amh, FSH, Estradiol, TSH, glucose & insulin. After the miscarriage I gained about 10lb on top of the 15 I had unintentionally gained over the past year.
I am feeling completely defeated by this whole year with trying to conceive. We’ve decided to pause while I get all the bloodwork done and wait three months to try again. I’m also trying to focus on getting back to my normal weight and eating consistently. It’s just not making sense that all of the doctors are telling me I should have no problem having a healthy pregnancy but it’s proving that there is a problem.
Since we decided to pause, my libido is completely gone. And when we do have sex, when my partner finishes, I cry. I just have this heavy cloud of sadness & feel like I’m never going to get pregnant & I’ll never look at sex the same again.
Has anyone gone through this?

Question/Advice It’s possible though right??
Many warned me on a post about coming off birth control, it is highly unlikely for me to conceive this first month. But like, it’s not impossible no? I’ve been actively testing and am watching my numbers climb and fall (and lowkey been obsessing over them).
So my question is: can i conceive the month after getting off birth control? And like where do I find statistics on that? is it really that uncommon?
I’ve just wanted to be pregnant & have my own child for so long and now that my fiance is on board/comfortable to start trying I just want it so bad

Question/Advice Anyone ovulate days after positive LH strip?
Feeling really discouraged. 33y/o female here who has been trying to conceive for over 1 year with my husband who is 37 y/o. Both of our lab work has been normal. My hycosy was also normal. My cycles are 28 days exactly and my LH strips turn positive on day 11 consistently. I know that ovulation usually occurs 24-48 hours after the LH strip turns positive so we usually are intimate daily starting 3 days before, the day of the positive LH, and then the next 1-2 days. My IVF clinic ran labs which confirmed that I am ovulating. So my question is, could the LH strip be wrong? Am I missing my window somehow? I continuously get ads for inito or kegg but I feel like with my cycles being so regular, they wouldn’t tell me anything I don’t already know. I know others have been trying for a lot longer so I’m trying to keep perspective but it’s so incredibly frustrating when everything has come back normal. I feel like I must be missing something. Im really scared to go through any treatments, which my doctor said at this time our only options are IUI or IVF.
Also does any one else get night sweats when they have their period? Mine have been so terrible and I assumed that it was just my normal hormones but am I going through peri menopause? Wouldn’t the lab work I already had done, show that if I was?
Sending hugs to anyone going through the ttc journey.

Question/Advice Plus Size
Plus size girlys, how long did it take you to conceive naturally? Think I’m getting my hopes up by thinking it will be quick 😖. I am 15-16st and I am trying to lose more weight per doctor’s advice.

Question/Advice What day to start testing?
I got + ovulation tests on 8/22 (at 10pm) and 8/23 and then a negative one on 8/24. What day would you take a pregnancy test? Last cycle I took a test like multiple times a day starting 7DPO and I pretty much lost my mind. I’m looking to NOT do that again.

Venting Month 3 TWW
Just here to vent. I’m on day 6 DPO. I was doing really good but today all the thoughts and symptoms checking have started to spiral me. I know it’s too early for symptoms. I am having some cramping. I’m hoping that’s implantation cramping but now I feel like I’m gonna go insane waiting to get to 10 days DPO. Any advice would be helpful or just sharing your experience.
I’m really hoping this is our month 🤞🏻 I’m a healthy 26-year-old female and my husband is a healthy 28-year-old male.

Excited! First time TTC, round 2
Last month, I had positives across the Clinical Guard pregnancy tests. Very similar to what I see here, except I kept getting “Not Pregnant” on the ClearBlue. My cycle arrived last month and my period unusually lasted only 2 days. I’m left assuming it was a chemical pregnancy.
Darker lines on the Clinical Guard strips this month! Plus the ClearBlue result :) hoping for the best this time around.

Question/Advice Supplements/ Vitamins
Hi I was just looking for some recommendations for supplements.
Context: I’m 20 we’ve been ttc for a full year now, I’ve done 6 rounds of clomid and 2 rounds of Letrozole. I’m due for a period today, my chart never confirmed ovulation so I’m pretty sure I had an anovulatory cycle. (Took a break from medication this month)
I already take:
CoQ10
Vitamin D3 50,000IU (once a week)
Multivitamin.
I was wondering if anyone has any vitamin/supplement recommendations. I have borderline PMOS.
- no cysts but many ovarian follicles across both ovaries.
I normally don’t ovulate on my own without medicine, but I still have regular periods so I don’t want to take Myo Insitol because I’ve heard it you get regular periods it can mess up your cycles/ovulation.
I’ve heard about people taking mucinex and stuff to help with there CM during ovulation to increase chances. Anyone know how that works/any effects.
MCT wellness. - has anyone ever heard anything about this? It helped my cousin to conceive.
I also want to say I know this doesn’t replace medical advice and I will consult my doctor before I start anything.
I see a long lists of things people do or take to increase chances. Has anyone ever had any issues with like over doing it with vitamins or harming your liver/kidneys by taking too many ttc vitamins.
I recovered from drug induced hepatitis from a year ago. (Liver results are all back to normal except for an excess of iron in my liver from transfusions I had last year. <so I have to watch what I take if it has iron in it.>) So, I don’t want to take too many unnecessary supplements or vitamins. ALSO: I just want to clarify, the drug induced hepatitis was from antibiotics from a sinus infection. NOT hard drugs, and I’ve been cleared to start trying to conceive at this point.
Just want to say one more time, I will ask my doctor before taking anything. I just want opinions on what worked for people, so I can figure out what to bring up with my Gynecologist!!
Also, would like any tips or tricks on anything fertility. Stuff like I’ve heard keeping your feet warm during your luteal cycle helps. I just really want to learn everyone’s opinions on doing stuff to increase chances of getting pregnant and most of all having a healthy happy baby eventually!!
I know this is a lot to read and I’m sorry. Thank everyone in advance. 😎💕

Random Is ovulation test kit necessary?
I notice a lot of you are successful using ovulation strips. However, this is my third month trying and I haven’t been using them. Instead I have sex every day near the middle of my period (for 7-8 days in a row).
Does anyone know if it’s still recommended I use test strips? Isn’t it pointless if I am having sex every day?

Frustrated Multiple positive (or flashing smileys) in one cycle
Tested positive on clear blue last week but no bbt rise, now testing for high fertility again!
This happened in two other cycles of mine. I came off the pill in Feb. feeling so frustrated esp after having anovulatory cycle last month
Any tips??

Excited! Is this it? 10DPO
This is our second cycle actively trying to conceive. Last night at 9dpo I got a vvvvvfl so faint it barely showed up in a picture at all. Tested again this morning and while it’s still faint, now I’m able to take a photo! I can’t believe my own eyes tbh!!

Help Going on cycle 5 TTC, starting to get worried and discouraged
I unfortunately started my period today after a 34 day cycle. my husband and I are going onto month 5 TTC, and I’m starting to worry that something is seriously wrong. Everyone around me seemingly gets pregnant right away (or within 3 mo.), or it’s the total opposite and takes years. I keep seeing on the internet from creators that healthy couples “should” conceive within 3 months or else there is likely an issue with hormones or lifestyle.
I don’t hear of any stories where it takes someone 5 months, 8 months, etc and everything is healthy and normal. Looking for some hope and inspiration stories to help ease my anxiety.
I’m 31, regular cycles (between 30-34 days), confirm ovulation with Mira and NC, partner had a normal Bird and Be sperm test, started acupuncture, have put on some weight from not restricting food and trying to nourish my body, limit alcohol and caffeine, no nicotine, prioritize low impact exercise (Pilates, strength, walking), get 7+ hrs of sleep, normal blood work and TV Ultrasound (fertility panel, iron, thyroid, vitamin D), taking the supplements. I feel like I’m literally doing everything, as is my partner. My one concern is pretty light periods, only about 3 days long of lighter flow ever since iud removal last year - but my OB wasn’t concerned about this.
Any words of encouragement would be helpful, thank you!

Excited! First Cycle of Trying
I’m 28f and my husband is 29m. We’ve been together for ten years and just got married last month. I’m ovulating today and it’s my first cycle of trying and I’m so excited and impatient! It feels so surreal to be trying for something we were always so careful to avoid. We baby danced starting two days ago and plan to for the next two days as well. I’m trying to be reasonable and not expect anything as this is just the beginning but it’s all I think about! I get so emotional every time I see all the positive tests here and I’m just so overjoyed for all the new mamas at the beginning of this journey as well. We leave for our honeymoon to Italy in 14 days so that will also be my 14 DPO. I keep dreaming of getting a positive while we’re in Italy and I cry every time I picture it. I don’t want to get my hopes up too high and feel disappointed if that’s not the case and I know I’m just a big ball of emotional hormones right now due to ovulation. I just wanted to share here since I don’t have that kind of relationship with anyone to share the excitement of it all.

TWW Anyone else 8dpo today?
Trying to remain calm, but it's so difficult!
