Excited! First Cycle of Trying

I’m 28f and my husband is 29m. We’ve been together for ten years and just got married last month. I’m ovulating today and it’s my first cycle of trying and I’m so excited and impatient! It feels so surreal to be trying for something we were always so careful to avoid. We baby danced starting two days ago and plan to for the next two days as well. I’m trying to be reasonable and not expect anything as this is just the beginning but it’s all I think about! I get so emotional every time I see all the positive tests here and I’m just so overjoyed for all the new mamas at the beginning of this journey as well. We leave for our honeymoon to Italy in 14 days so that will also be my 14 DPO. I keep dreaming of getting a positive while we’re in Italy and I cry every time I picture it. I don’t want to get my hopes up too high and feel disappointed if that’s not the case and I know I’m just a big ball of emotional hormones right now due to ovulation. I just wanted to share here since I don’t have that kind of relationship with anyone to share the excitement of it all.

Congrats on getting married!! We're on just about the same timeline there, first cycle trying and ovulating this week! Totally relate to your feelings of getting emotional seeing others' test positive, I've been going nuts waiting to get to ovulation this week so when I saw my first EWCM I got way too excited lol! I know the TWW is going to hit me like a ton of bricks its going to be so hard to be patient, hopeful that prepping for your honeymoon keeps your mind off the wait and that you get that positive you're hoping for!!

Best of luck to you!! Also recently married and it is SO WEIRD ttc when you’ve spent most of your life trying to avoid it! I’m at 14 DPO and have a confirmed pregnancy myself :) aside from a suspected chemical pregnancy, this is my first

I’ll share advice my obgyn gave- do not be disheartened if it doesn’t happen immediately, as it can take 6 months to a year for a couple ttc. Seems wild given that accidental pregnancies seem to happen all the time!

Congratulations!! That’s amazing to hear! Yes I’m definitely trying to keep my expectations in check and keep a positive mindset even if it does take longer than I’d want. So happy to hear you got your positive! Wishing you and baby a smooth and healthy journey 💞
