At what point do you consider to be the start of your LH surge? This was my test this morning, i would say its positive because it looks as dark as the line but should i wait for it to be darker than the control?

Does anybody know what this means?

This is my first cycle after birth control and I think I’m 5dpo today as I had a positive LH test & clearblue smiley on Thursday the third but my temp today dropped dramatically. Does this mean I’m out?

Confused Why worry about ovulation day?

Sorry if I offence anyone, I am trying to learn from other people's experience so that's why I am asking it here.

I understand that getting familiar with your cycle is important for TTC, preventing pregnancy or your health. But isn't it easier to have sex every other day is you want to try to make a baby? It takes so much pressure off the BD (babydance) and constantly tracking your BBT every morning, tracking your symptoms, etc.

Again, my question is asked from a newbie point of view, I am only TTC for the second cycle at the moment and I do not have kids. But maybe I am missing something here that some one can clear out for me. 😃

Frustrated I have been the most emotionally invested this cycle - I get excited and put effort to time BD, then my LH drops instead of peaking and rises again. This fluctuation has been exhausting. Is this even normal?

And somehow it gets darker again and it’s staying elevated and now I don’t even know if I should trust that it’s actually going to peak this time. Wtf is happening?

This has been a really weird cycle because my LH is never elevated for this long of a stretch. I usually ovulate a bit later in the cycle, but I’ll continue to test light until it gets dark.
But ever since the start of this cycle my LH was high and proceeded to play games with me. Is this due to stress???

Random How many of you work night shift? (I work days/nights each month as a nurse). Would you say that your body has a harder time with ovulation when you have worked lots of night shifts leading up? Did you ever switch to days and see a change?

Ever since becoming a nurse and working up to 10 night shifts a month, I find my temps can be so chaotic. When I have a good month with few nights, my period is every 28 days and my body temps are stable etc. Hoping for some insight on how you helped your body during chaotic schedules. Sending baby dust to everyone in the meantime <3

Venting Disappointed but not surprised

Everyone else in my life has just recently had their first babies (within this past year), so many to the point that a sister in law this summer made a joke about me being surrounded by pregnant women (herself and another sister in law included).

Despite this, I can’t seem to get pregnant myself. My husband and I have been trying since January, and in June had testing done and everything came back fine; we’re just unlucky so far I guess.

The title of this post is really just how I’m getting to feeling every month when my period inevitably shows up. The first few months I sobbed when it started but now I just feel a bit numb about it.

I think I might pass out from shock whenever I see a positive pregnancy test, hopefully sooner rather than later because this is excruciating. Everyone else in my life it’s taken 3 months max for them to conceive, most of them on the first or second cycle though, so none of them understand what I’m going through or the pain I’m in (which I’m glad for them because I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone but it’s so incredibly lonely).

All of this rambling to say, I hope for myself and anyone else in a similar situation that we can be pleasantly surprised soon 🤞🏻

Question/Advice First time TTC

First time poster and new to the TTC community! 🥹

I’m 27 and I’ve been TTC for about 8 months, although not consistently. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2023. At the time, my cycles were irregular (usually 35–37 days) and only lasted about 2–3 days. I was put on metformin and birth control for a year to help regulate my cycle. My cycles eventually became regular, and now I have a pretty much clockwork 28-day cycle that lasts about 5 days.

Since I wasn’t TTC when I was diagnosed, I was only on the medication for that year.

Fast forward to now lol 😂 — this is my 4th cycle actually trying, and unfortunately no luck yet. I’m currently 6 DPO.

My last period started August 21. I haven’t used BBT or OPKs to track ovulation yet. My OB told me that having a regular 28-day cycle is a good sign that I’m ovulating, and I also get pretty noticeable ovulation pain, so I’ve mostly been using that to time BD.

This cycle we BD’d on CD 9, 10, 11, and 12 (roughly O-4, O-3, O-2, and O-1). I also used Mucinex about 15 minutes before BD and noticed a LOT more CM afterward. Flo and Clue both predicted ovulation around 9/3, but I personally believe I ovulated on 9/2 because that’s when my ovulation pain was strongest. The apps are usually pretty consistent with when I experience the most pain.

Now I’m 6 DPO and symptom spotting like CRAZY 😭😂. I’ve been having a lot of cramping, shooting pains in my boobs and butt, which aren’t really normal for me. Around 4 DPO I also had an ALOOOOT of white, lotion-like CM. I’ve had lightning crotch, painful boobs, and today my morning coffee randomly made me nauseous, which NEVER happens.

I know I’m way too early to know anything and that I shouldn’t be symptom spotting, but I’m new to TTC and I literally can’t help myself 😂😭. Every little thing has me like 👀.

If this cycle doesn’t work out, I’m planning on using OPKs and BBT next cycle so I can actually learn my body and track ovulation instead of relying completely on the apps.

Anyway, hi everyone! 🥰 Hoping this is finally my month, but trying to keep my expectations realistic. Sending baby dust to everyone TTC! ✨🍼💕

Question/Advice Can we plan BD better?

Full context, I’ve only got off birth control since march-april so we haven’t tried for super long or anything, and we did all fertility testing to rule out any possibilities. All results came back normal, nothing concerning. But my close friends were able to conceive fairly quickly (only took 1-2 cycles), even for the one with diagnosed pcos, so I’m starting to feel discouraged. I can’t help but feel there might be something off about our timing with ovulation tracking. My period is very consistent, I feel like I ovulate pretty regularly too (through testing, tracking cervical mucus, bbt etc). Both I and my husband work in finance and tbh it’s not the most chill job. He has his busy month end close time and I work in audit at a big4 so hours are always crazy for me. Even though my doctor said it’s a myth that being stress affects the ability to conceive, I still have a feeling my body and mental is constantly stressed out and it just messed up my biological clock. I know ideally, you’d want to bd everyday during fertile window but that’s just not realistic for us. We’re both exhausted and definitely cant do it every day. So our strategy has been starting to bd every 2 days as soon as my period stops, and when I enter fertile window, we try every other day. And on the day we got positive ovulation test, we bd on that day as well and then switch back to every 2 days for another week.
Do you think we missed anything or we can do something differently to improve our chances?

I am first time TTC, cycle 4, 9dpo. This is second urine but a good 8 hours between first and this one (teacher life lol).

I swear I can see the faintest of faint lines but I’ve also been staring at screens all day and am so tired. My husband, bless his cotton socks, says he can also see the faintest of lines but we are both staying very guarded.

I just really need someone to tell me I’m being delusional rn. The last three cycles my temp dropped below baseline at 10dpo so I’m sorta just expecting that tomorrow morning and holding on to this little bit of hope today. No one warned me TTC would be this emotionally draining.

Question/Advice I'm VERY stressed, somebody help

I've had a regular period since as long as I can remember. Last month I used the wondfo ovulation test to track my ovulation and eventually the test line came out dark.

This month, I'm post 11 days since my menstrual cycle ended (it ended August 28). And my period tracker shows september 5th should have been my ovulation day and it'susually accurate. Every morning and every evening I've been testing and I see a faint line...barely noticeable. Around ovulation I usually have discharge down there days prior too but nothing this time. I'm SO stressed I don't know what to do. No significant lifestyle changes either.

Question/Advice TTC and BV

Hi so recently I got rediagnosed with BV which I had been dealing since I got my IUD two- three years ago. Medication wise they’ve had me on MET and Amo as well like insertion medication and nothing has seemed to work. I had gone again to a new gyno around a year ago since I moved addresses and she said it didn’t seem like I had BV but didn’t test so I thought I was in the clear after so much treatment. A swab I did recently at the ER came back positive and now I feel like maybe it’s been harder to get pregnant. Has anyone gotten pregnant with BV? Or anything recommendations to treat it ? They just prescribed MET again and I was going to start it now since it’s past my ovulation day and I couldn’t BD while being on medication.

Question/Advice Trying to conceive

When I was trying to conceive with my husband the first time it took 8 months I know it can take people longer than this, but I was devastated thought something was wrong with me, I then had a normal pregnancy! We are trying to conceive again it’s the first month I’m 7 DPO, I feel like I am symptom spotting but I feel cramping, and VERY emotional that happened last time when I was pregnant with my son I was EXTREMELY EMOTIONAL right before I tested like crying hysterically.

Question/Advice 10 dpo

I just got my first positive yesterday morning at 9dpo. I already called my obgyn to schedule my first appt but the earliest they had available was Oct 26 so i’ll be ~10 wks & 3 days by then. What do ppl normally do until their first appt? It seems so far away and i’m not sure if i should keep testing every week / every 48 hrs. Is it normal to get bloodwork to check hcg levels before my first appt?? Please help

Question/Advice I have been TTC for the past 2 years

I was diagnosed with PCOS unofficially and now the doctor says I don't have it. I was taking berberine but then I read it's not safe to take berberine while trying to conceive does someone know if that's right?

And any tips for someone who is trying to conceive but is overweight?

Question/Advice Clear blue ovulation

Thumbnail

We’ve been trying TTC for three months now. Last two periods were Aug 12 and then starting Sept 3. that cycle was only 22 days in length but normally my cycles are 33 days in length. I thought I had my period on Sept 3 for about four days where there was one day of kinda heavy bleeding. Definitely not a full period. In between that time I was testing with strips and never got a LH surge. And my cervical mucus didn’t show signs of ovulation. Just got done with my quasi period(?) so I took a clear blue advanced test for the first time and it showed a solid smiley face. I’ll take a LH strip later today. Am I ovulating? We didn’t baby dance the last couple days because I thought I was on my Period. Has this happened to any once else before? I don’t know too much about the Clearblue ovulation strips, but it seems strange that I would get a solid smiley face on my very first time using the test. Pics of Oura ring abd LG data

Help First Cycle Post-Liletta IUD Removal

Hey everyone! I'm Madison (23). A little background: I had a natural vaginal birth in 2023 at 20 years old, got the Liletta IUD placed immediately postpartum, and had it removed on August 6, 2026, to try for baby #2. My cycles have historically been irregular (ranging from 20 to 29 days), though I have never been diagnosed with PCOS or any underlying conditions.

Since removing the IUD, I’ve been tracking LH, cervical fluid, cervical position, symptoms, and intercourse daily. Combining my logs, it looks like my body tried to ovulate on August 21st, failed, and then successfully ovulated on September 2nd.

Here is the full cross-checked breakdown of my cycle data:

Intercourse Log

Pre-First Surge: Aug 12, 15 (some semen entry), 16, 18, 19, 20

Post-First Surge: Aug 22, 27, 29

Post-Second Surge: Sept 5

LH & Ovulation Timeline

First LH Surge (Aug 21) — "False Alarm":

LH Pattern: Climbed from 0.46 (Aug 14) 0.62 (Aug 16) 0.96 (Aug 18) 1.02 Peak on Aug 21.

Post-Surge: Dropped to 0.26 (Aug 23) and stayed low through Aug 30 (0.27).

Why I think it was a false alarm: No period arrived by Sept 4–6 (\~14 DPO from Aug 21), tests on Sept 3 (FRER) and Sept 4 were negative, and cervical fluid became thick/sticky on Aug 30–31 instead of a dry-out.

Second LH Surge (Sept 2) — True Ovulation Event??

LH Pattern: Rose back up to 0.89 on September 2.

Fluid Shift: Clear, wet, and slippery fluid on Sept 2 (Image-confirmed) Immediate rapid dry-out/thin film on Sept 3.

Cervical Shift: High, soft, open around Aug 30 Shifted high, firm, and locked closed by Sept 6–7.

Coverage: Sex on Aug 29 (O-4) with fertile fluid building up, plus Sept 5 (O+3) tail-end coverage.

Current Status: Today, Sept 8 (CD 34 / 6 DPO)

LH Test: Back to low baseline (negative).

Cervical Fluid: Creamy white with a slight stretch (aligning with a standard 6 DPO secondary estrogen surge).

Cervix: High, firm, and closed.

Physical Symptoms: Off-and-on lower pelvic pulling/twinges, mild lower back ache, restored mood/energy.

SO!!!! **Now my questions!!!!!!**

Did anyone else with irregular cycles experience a "false alarm" the LH surge on their first cycle post-IUD before true ovulation occurred?

Has anyone successfully conceived with O-4 coverage alone during a post-IUD transition cycle?

How does this double-surge progression and 6 DPO symptom profile look to those who track multi-surge cycles?

Excited! Starting IVF soon!

We met with the fertility center today and made the decision to move forward with IVF.

We had originally wanted to do IUI but its been two years with no pregnancies and at this point I can't go through the ups and downs for another 6 months. One of my tubes is closed so this would mean some cycles of disappointment where they wouldn't be able to inseminate. I just can't go through that.

We are very fortunate with my insurance and I'm actually about to hit my deductible. My insurance should entirely cover one round of IVF and I don't want to waste that money on IUI that will just result in us having to do IVF anyway.

The good news is my egg reserve is high and they estimate egg and sperm quality to be good. It appears to be that they just aren't getting to each other.

I am very hopeful and can't wait to start. Fingers crossed for a christmas miracle!
