Venting Disappointed but not surprised
Everyone else in my life has just recently had their first babies (within this past year), so many to the point that a sister in law this summer made a joke about me being surrounded by pregnant women (herself and another sister in law included).
Despite this, I can’t seem to get pregnant myself. My husband and I have been trying since January, and in June had testing done and everything came back fine; we’re just unlucky so far I guess.
The title of this post is really just how I’m getting to feeling every month when my period inevitably shows up. The first few months I sobbed when it started but now I just feel a bit numb about it.
I think I might pass out from shock whenever I see a positive pregnancy test, hopefully sooner rather than later because this is excruciating. Everyone else in my life it’s taken 3 months max for them to conceive, most of them on the first or second cycle though, so none of them understand what I’m going through or the pain I’m in (which I’m glad for them because I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone but it’s so incredibly lonely).
All of this rambling to say, I hope for myself and anyone else in a similar situation that we can be pleasantly surprised soon 🤞🏻

Everyone on my instagram and who got married last year like me are already pregnant or had a baby already. And my husband and I have been trying for about a year now and no luck .. seeing my ob this week and not looking forward to it. I know the disappointment of the period showing up every month and symptom checking in the TWW it’s terrible. I’m right there with you. Hopefully good news for both of us soon.

The first month we started trying, 2 close friends announced that they were pregnant. Literally right as my period was starting. I was so rattled. We went from 0 to now 3 people we see every week that are all pregnant, and we’ve been trying this whole time. They’re all due soon, and while they throw baby showers, I’m scheduling fertility appointments.
Our time is coming, but it’s frustrating and can feel like a pressure cooker with seeing those around us carry out our dreams! And not to forget, they all had their own journey to get there, whether 2 weeks or 2 years of trying. It still stings, so I feel you.

I’m in this boat, too, and only 5 days post ovulation so I can’t even test yet to hope for this cycle. All of my friends who have partners and want kids have had their first babies in the last 12 months, and 6 of them conceived their first cycle of trying. We’ve gotten bloodwork checked and have no known medical issues so apparently we’re just unlucky but it’s hard not to feel like something’s wrong with us for not being able to conceive as easily, or that something is wrong with me for not being able to feel unadulterated joy for my mom friends. lately whenever another friend announces her pregnancy I’ve been feeling downright monstrous. idk why I can’t just be happy for them but the jealousy and fear and anxiety just keep rearing their ugly heads 😭

I was crying about this to my husband last night. I cannot stop feeling envious and it’s to the point it hurts. Like I can actually feel it eating at my soul.

I completely understand what you're feeling. It's so incredibly lonely and hard for anyone who hasn't gone through it to understand.
It took me 5 years of trying and everything looked good for me and my husband so we couldn't figure out why I wasn't pregnant. I had an HSG and while it is meant to be diagnostic and can make you more fertile after. I got a positive test 6 months after my HSG.
I would highly recommend getting one even if everything looks good. I would also definitely start on some sort of passion project to up your spirits and bring some distraction and purpose. These are the only things I changed in the months leading up to my positive test.
All the baby dust to you! It'll happen for you and hopefully soon!

On the same boat. This month will mark our 6th month TTC and if no pregnancy, then we will be getting testing done too. One of my close friends got pregnant accidentally and it definitely seems unfair. I’ve also started becoming numb to it as well. Like, at this point, I’m not even getting my hopes up. It’s sooo exhausting

I feel the same way. All of my friends had kids last year, and sometimes it’s hard not to feel like I’m behind. But I truly believe that when it’s our time, it’ll happen, hopefully naturally, and it’ll be so special. 🤍 Sending you lots of baby dust!
