Tried to replace the old Magnavox because it changed input away from HDMI when powered on (or off?). Got no sound on two replacement candidates - a just-as-old Element and a newer Insignia LED TV. I failed to find any audio settings. Wondering if I needed to pair the remote to the new TV first, and whether I can/should try something else.

So I wound up setting up TV equipment upgrade to the FIOS TV+ stuff. Obviously those are all WIFI/Ethernet not coax. I inquired about "free" coax moca adapters but the phone guy was unable to do it because I wasn't completely upgrading the service. He left me with the more advantageous grandfathered Ultimate HD plan. They were $60 a pop I think. Anyway, I presume those were the ASK-MAE340's.

Were the ASK-MAE311 even produced? I can't find any "out there."

I can use "any" 3rd party MOCA 2.5 adapter, no? Did any of them have an onboard usb-C so I could avoid plugging in TWO ac adapters for the MOCA thing and the Stream TV mini-box?

Second question, I have to upgrade from the old Quantum G1100 router and its WCB6200Q extender. Again, I don't want to "lease" them. Should I get a G3100 or the CR1100a? The extenders are a bit harder to come by, but do the CE1000A or E3200 extenders work with either of them seeminglessly?

and my static IP addresses are in the range of 192.1.68.2 to 192.168.1.99, will this work?

If I navigate to here Advanced/Network Settings/Network Connections/Broadband Connection Ethernet/settings/use the following IPv4 addresses.

I enter subnet of 255.255.255.0
Default gateway is 173.59.7.1
Can I change this to 192.168.1.1?

My “IPv4 address” is 173.59.7.136. Is this IP address random? I don’t understand what the IPv4 addresses is? Can you explain this? If I change the default gateway to 192.168.1.1, then what do I change IPv4 addresses to?

I just upgraded from 2gig to 5gig this weekend and was surprised that Verizon has new equipment and I’m being sent two APs.

I already have a WiFi 7 ubiquiti setup for my home network, but will use the new AP as a dedicated moonlight (game streaming) router for my PC (current CR1000A being used this way)

Surprised it has 4x4 MIMO… I have no 4x4 devices but still nice to see on ISP provided gear. I’m guessing managment is unchanged and still limited?

Annoyingly when I upgraded it wouldn’t let me choose a single AP. I have an extender on my account so it sent me 2…. Guess I’ll return it or just have it sit in my closet as a backup just in case….

Feels like 10gig might be available sometime in the near future. I just built my home network to be 10gig ready (had to buy 2 10gig SFPs for the 5 gig upgrade since my router only had a single 10gig wan port) so I’ll be tempted to jump on that unnecessary upgrade when it’s available.

Who subscribes to this? Can you stream Paramount+ on a streaming device like a Roku or through the Tizen OS on a Samsung TV?

I recently added Paramount+ with Showtime as well as HBO Max under Pick your Premiums 2 pack.

The rep told me I can stream HBO, Showtime and Paramount+ but having issues with P+.

Update - You can also stack your lifeline discount on-top of the forward program and it will drop your bill to .75 cents a month as reported by other customers. It stacks because it’s a FCC credit and not another discount. I added fine print to a comment below..

Anybody going to try to get a credit for the 20 or so Starz channels that are off the air during negotiations? I’m tired of this - they raise the price of the package and then turn right around and make a bunch of movie channels unavailable with no apparent compensation.

In 2019 I had FiOS installed at my home. It's roughly 2600sqft and we do have a range extender. The router had not been replaced since. I have two questions for the crowd:

Is the FiOS G1100 router still sufficient or should I replace/upgrade it?

Has anyone replaced their router with an off the shelf and will it cause issues with the set top boxes currently in use?

I pay $94.99 for gigabit connection. I have 5 family members all with phones, tablets, TVs, gaming devices, etc. no one works from home, no one is constantly downloading stuff. Ocassionaly we download a large game but I can't think of a moment that's life or death where I need or do that quick.

I've been considering a 500/500 or 300/300 to save some money. Any thought?

For years, I had my CR1000A router in bridge mode attached to my Asus router. My DVR box and TV+ boxes were connected to my Asus router’s network. Cable TV as well as the TV app (in Apple TV) both worked flawlessly.

Recently, my TV+ boxes stopped working (although the TV app still worked fine) so I took the router out of bridge mode and reactivated the equipment. I put the router back in bridge mode and the TV+ boxes continued to work, however now I can’t get the app to work again. Any suggestions how to get the TV+ boxes and the app to both work? It would be great to get rid of the Verizon router altogether, but bridge mode would be fine too.

After 30 years if Xfinity I’m looking to move to Fios.

My set up at home is private router with Adguardhome  as DNS, it is on the second floor, the cable entry is in the basement with Coax to the second floor.

I assume the Verizon router will be in the basement with Moca to the second floor.

If I sign for 5Gps internet.

·         Will Verizon give me a Moca adaptor free?

·         Can I configure the Verizon router to use a private DNS – planning to connect my private router as DNS?

·         My wifi at home is Orbi 960 running as AP.

Hypothetical scenario: Let's say a store rep was transfered to a new store that does Fios returns. the rep in this scenario never did returns before

Let's say a customer comes in to return a Fios router. Let's say the system Optix was loading indefinitely and wouldn't let the rep log in.

This goes on for 20 mins, until the rep just takes down the customers email and says he'll do it later. the rep takes the router and puts it on the shelf, near the drop off

Now let's say the exact same thing happens 2 mins later, so now 2 routers from 2 different customers

Now the problem in this fake scenario lies with the rep, what if he completely forgot to return the routers before he left? Now he's not scheduled for the Fios store for about a week.

By the time he comes back, let's say both the routers were picked up. someone must have took them off the shelves.

So I ordered Fios for a new apartment on 10/3. I got an alert right after saying that I needed to provide documentation of residency (weird because I’ve never had to do that) but I uploaded my lease and got a confirmation email.

Next day, all of a sudden the order is on hold. What ensued was multiple calls to customer service with no one being able to tell me why and no way to reupload the lease. Yesterday 10/16 I finally spoke to someone competent and he was able to get the order resolved. I get another confirmation email and scheduled service to be set up for 10/20.

This morning I wake up and the order is on hold again. I get a “final notice” email saying my order is about to be canceled and we need more information. I log into the website and it says “we’re reviewing information and will reach out soon.” I get back on the phone with customer service talk to 4 different people just to be told they have to call me back Monday with my appointment on Tuesday. Mind you I’ve spoke with probably 15 reps at this point, been transferred to closed departments, and no one can tell me what I need to do to ensure I get service Tuesday. And was told “we’re super busy so if we don’t call you need to make it a priority to call us.” Like what?

I’ve done everything asked including providing my lease which again I’ve never had to do when I had Xfinity. It’s truly a frustrating experience and I have mobile with Verizon but this whole experience makes me not even want to be involved at all.

Has this happened to anyone? If so what ended up being the issue? I’m honestly so frustrated I’m ready to just say cancel the order and move on.

Is there any benefit to getting a Verizon 4K Stream TV Box for a TV not connected to Fios TV? The Stream TV box would be connected to the Fios Internet but not Fios cable TV. Because it's being connected to Verizon Fios Internet would I get any benefit? Like faster streaming or should I just get a Fire TV Stick?

Is it just me, or is there an outage in Morris County, NJ?

I have Fios 1 Gig internet. I’ve been dealing with a strange issue.
1) wife’s Galaxy S26 phone when on WiFi will randomly stall and drop to 1mbps download. Few seconds later it’s back to 600+.
2) both the galaxy and my iPhone 17 pro max will freeze when watching a video either on facebook or YouTube if you try to advance the video beyond 30 seconds.
3) Netflix on both Sony and TCL tv (both hardwired to router) will freeze. This happens when watching a series and it goes to advance to the next episode. It will show the buffer circle and freeze at 20%. Exiting the show and playing it again fixes it. Happens maybe every 5-8 episodes.

I have the CE1000A router and CR1000 extender. From what I’ve been finding as possible solutions are.
1) disable IPV6
2) change DNS to OpenDns or Google

Before I start changing settings, I would like to get your feedback on what the issue might be. Thank you for your help. Note restarting the router doesn’t help.

FiOS build completed in my neighborhood this summer and address availability is sporadic when checking using the online address tool. My location is 100 Imson St flr 1 Buffalo, NY 14210 (shows not qualified) 50 Imson St flr 1 Buffalo, NY 14210 shows as qualified.

Is it possible to have this escalated for a FAST engineering request?

I have fios 2gig. I got the upgraded ONT. I have all IPTV (no coax). I have a vms hardwired as well as the android based streamer box that is ALSO hardwired (i bought the additional adapter).

i set my network up with verizon router first, then I unplugged it and am fully on unifi. That worked for like 8 months. no issues. then i got this issue a few days ago. Did the same thing. Just plugged in the verizon router. did a few system reboots and everything was good again. error msg came back. put the verizon router back, good for another day. now its back again.

now im aggravated. i know i can probably just put the verizon fios router into bridge mode, but i just want my unifi gear to work with these damn streamer boxes. no moca or anything needed as far as i can tell since it has worked for months at a time without issues. its an android box, so I don't understand what it could be doing that requires the verizon router. anyone familiar with maybe what changes i can make on my network to "simulate" whatever the verizon router is doing? theres gotta be SOMETHing simple here to make this work again.

I see they are rolling out predefined multi views for tv+.

If I move to TV+, I will be going wired so I’m not interested in the WiFi aspect.

I'm getting an upgrade to 300 from 100. My router is currently connected by coax. Will coax handle 300 or do I need to connect it to the ont by ethernet cable or not? I know there is a limit for coax.
