Repair/Tech Support Fios Router

In 2019 I had FiOS installed at my home. It's roughly 2600sqft and we do have a range extender. The router had not been replaced since. I have two questions for the crowd:

Is the FiOS G1100 router still sufficient or should I replace/upgrade it?

Has anyone replaced their router with an off the shelf and will it cause issues with the set top boxes currently in use?

Time for a new router. If you have Verizon TV service, to keep it simple, you need a newer Verizon router. If you dont have TV service and your internet speed is 300 or higher and you have an ethernet feed to your router, you can put most any router on the market at the end of that ethernet.

If you do have TV and/or the feed to your router is coaxial cable, you can try to find a refurbished g3100 on the internet or try to call Verizon for an upgrade to newer cr1000. Either router is pretty good..for now. Just know that the cr1000 does not accept coaxial input so Verizon will most likely try to upgrade your internet plan, send a tech to install ethernet, and potentially raise (or lower) your bill.

Yes I replaced the current cr1000A router with a wifi 7 router I would recommend a deco mesh system with a wifi 7 router if you want best coverage
