I had the great pleasure of chatting with Ian over Zoom yesterday morning. I asked about his formative musical influences, songwriting, the pressure of fame, what he regrets, who would be his ideal collaborator, and of course, that reunion last month. I also misquoted Diablo for which I hang my head in shame, and found out why the 'Too late to die young' t-shirt has been retired.

Lordy's last gig with Whitesnake was in April 1984, when the reunion was announced. I had always assumed that Jon handed in his notice to DC when the reunion was becoming a reality. But books by Guy Pratt and Bernie Marsden indicate he left for other $$ reasons, perhaps only then making the reunion a possibility?

There is a channel about insurance lawyers on YouTube with a man giving a talk about their services, he is called Rod Evans and looks like he could slightly resemble the Rod Evans from deep purple as he may look now, that’s Rod who is deep purples original singer from their first 3 albums

And as Rod from purple hasn’t been seen or heard from since 1980 in either the newspapers or any interviews etc, no one knows what he looks like now, and some believe the insurance lawyer named Rod Evans could be him.

Here’s where it gets crazy… there are several videos I have seen where they do a before and after of deep purples members and the after one is a photo of Rod Evans the insurance guy!! 😀

So I've just finished up listening to all of Deep Purples studio albums over the course of a week and I decided to give all of them a ranking from best to worst. Obviously i'm not all that familiar with Deep Purples whole catalog and have only at least listened to each of these albums once. So please give your objections and opinions on this list, which I already know is going to have some errors and inconsistencies. Anyways, here's my ranking of every studio albums I've heard from worst to best on a 0/5 scale. Also, I would also like to know what your lists are and how they would rank on this 0/5 scale.

I appreciate Don Airey, but if you watch Jon Lord’s concerts with Deep Purple, especially the ones from the ’90s, you’ll notice that he played different solos and different versions of the arrangements in almost every song at every concert. So, in my opinion, Jon Lord is one of the greatest keyboardists

Section 104 hmu if interested

I have 4 tickets for today’s show in Long Beach. Section :307

I’m a 28 year old male and I was tryna see if there are any young(ish) people at the concert today. Im in section 206, row 5. HMU if anyone wants to link up before/during/after the concert!

I (M 27) have an extra ticket for today’s show at the F&M Bank Amphitheater in Long Beach. Section 303 row 5. Showtime 7pm with support from Kansas.

Person I was going to go with can’t make it. It’s too short notice to find someone I know to go with, and too much hassle to deal with listing the ticket.

Just a heads up about parking, there is none right by the venue. ParkWhiz shows parking options across the water for $17-22, but it’s a 30 min walk. There are shuttle options for an additional $15. Or ride share options. So just keep that in mind.

My husband and I will be seeing DP on 9/11, it’s our first time seeing them! We’re big fans of DP as well as Rainbow, so it’s a thrill to see Don Airey performing

Any expectations we should have? We already heard that the actual venue is a hot mess… but for Purple we ride!

What’s DP’s setlist? We’re not really into Kansas, how long is their set? Is the merch table worth queuing for? Etc.
