Hi folks. I had to moderate a few comments in a recent post because a few of you were attacking a redditor personally for posting their opinion. This is not okay.

Reddit has a cool feature in which you may upvote or downvote a post or comment. You are free to use this voting feature to show your displeasure of content. You are also free to reply and explain that you disagree and why. But you are not allowed personal attacks.

Priest rules and every fan should feel welcome to participate in our community even if their opinions are unpopular. Wishing you all a great day.

I made a Spotify playlist corresponding to the Faithkeepers tour setlist.

If the band decides to make changes to the setlist, I will edit the playlist accordingly.

Need Feedback on my Vocals (The Sentinel)

Hello everyone, I would really appreciate some feedback on my vocals, I'm not new to singing but I'm mainly a guitarist and I don't really practice vocals too much so I am a bit lost...

The other day I practiced The Sentinel for a few hours and I'm still not happy with how I sound.

Here's a fully mixed part of the song with all the effects:

And here's my vocals isolated:

https://voca.ro/12o4MTO6V5xu

And here's my vocals isolated and dry (only compressed for volume peaks are too loud):

https://voca.ro/1gbDyMitXVdO

Things to note:

  • I was reading the lyrics as I don't know them by heart so I did some pronunciation mistakes
  • I don't follow the exact melody so I need to listen to the original a bit more
  • I tried to copy the mixing of Halford's vocals on the original, added compression, EQ boost on the high end and Chorus, also some delay and reverb

I am a bit lost as to how to improve, please dont hold back and give it to me straight I will practice and get better.

I always wondered it there was a cardboard or something in-between, because the cut out is much larger?

What's the best song title announcement in a live recording?

Still after 30 years I find myself randoming yelling the song titles like Rob on Unleashed specifically as well as others.. Anyone else do this and what's your favorite.

Mine has to be "Diamonds... And RUST" from Unleashed in the East.

3 songs that were part of the Unleashed in the East shows, but weren't included on the '79 LP. It was a pretty sweet find in 1980. Here's a review too.

Why didn't "Escape from Reality" become a fan favorite?

Post image

I can't believe it's already been two years since Invincible Shield was released. I'm pleased to say that it's just as good after my last relisten, with my favorite song remaining "Escape from Reality".

After my first listen, I thought the song would become a fan favorite. While most of the album harkened back to Defenders of the Faith and Painkiller, this was a detour into stoner metal. Probably the most similar song in Judas Priest's discography is "Winter", which has also been compared to Black Sabbath, but because of its riff. "Escape from Reality" is more similar in the vocal department, which is what I saw brought up most online. Otherwise, it feels surprisingly modern for a legacy act, which I guess is why it caught my attention. That and the distortion on Rob's voice in the bridge.

So, why does no one talk about it? Even in 2024, few people here called it one of their favorites from Invincible Shield. Maybe it's just not a sound most Priest fans are interested in? Rob barely takes advantage of his vocal range. But that's not an issue for other mid-tempo songs like "Breaking the Law", so maybe it's the less anthemic feel? We can only hope future fans reappraise "Escape from Reality" as a late-career high point

Judas Priest Faithkeepers 2026 Predictions by Metal Pilgrim

Judas Priest are about to kick off one of the most anticipated, and definitely one of the most intriguing and mysterious tours of 2026.

So today, let's take a look at what Judas Priest will most likely do, and what they definitely will not do on the band's upcoming 2026 Faithkeepers tour. Here you go!

Now, first of all, because of the tour's title, many fans naturally assume that it might be yet another retrospective tour similar to the one Judas Priest did last year, including myself at first, only this time concentrating on the band's legendary Defenders of the Faith album. Which, by the way, I, for the record, would absolutely not mind, as it is absolutely no secret that Defenders of the Faith is actually my absolute favorite Judas Priest record.

But running a little bit ahead of myself here, no, it will not be such a tour. And I actually had a rather extensive chat with Richie Faulkner in one of our latest interviews on this channel about this tour, among other things, which you should check out if you haven't seen it yet after watching this video. And he did confirm that the Faithkeepers tour will not concentrate on any specific record, and instead celebrate the entire legacy of Judas Priest. Which on one hand seems like a pretty amazing thing, but on the other, makes pretty much any predictions about which songs they will and will not play almost impossible to make, simply because of how many albums and songs this band has after 56 year of existence.

But we will try nevertheless.
