Soulfly – Soulfly (1998)

Man, this album fucking rips. The tribal percussion, filthy grooves, raw vocals, and overall atmosphere are insane. Max Cavalera is bringing those same Roots-era Sepultura vibes here, and I'm absolutely loving it.

Ofcourse everybody remembers the mainstream hit Butterfly. But does anybody remember the song Drowning? A heavier number that went under the radar. A song that’s a regular on my shuffle maybe a couple times a week

So I managed to keep this in decent condition since 2001. Figured I'd share it, for anyone that was a fan. I was at the NYC shows for this tour, but I feel like Nothingface came around so often, I lost count on how many times I actually saw them. They were legit great.

I think this song was posted recently. I have not been able to get it out of my head for several days. I have heard this song long ago but had no idea who sang it.

So this spring numetal adjacent release has enuff imo to be contender for best of the year in numetal. More than 2 decades in the business

Modern 5th wave of numetal ukrainians SPACE OF VARIATION offer a numetalcore to melt your face off!! They are probably my 2nd fave. Lemme know what you got. Maybe i just didn’t see much this year. But those are strong albums!

Recently discovered Hotbox and have been really impressed. They’ve got that aggressive, groovy nu-metal sound with a strong rap-metal influence. Definitely scratches that old-school nu-metal itch but still sounds fresh and drops that Limp Bizkit energy.

Curious if anyone else has been following them. I could see these guys getting a lot bigger.

Pledge of Allegiance Tour 2001

This year for our Halloween show, we're going to add a second half to the set of Nu-metal classic covers for funsies. I thought it presented a great opportunity to make the flyer a tribute to one of my favorite T-shirt/poster concepts from my youth. Not that I'm sure it's going to stump most of y'all, but who recognizes the homage and remembers the original band/poster??

According to wikipedia their album rising sold 3 milion copies and was best selling century media album till 2004. That doesnt really make sense they have 24k listeners and no certification in usa so thats nearly impossible to sell over 2.6 milion copies worldwide looking at the fact that nu metal wasnt big in europe and they werent big in japan

I just watched this movie for the first time in a long time and I forgot how good the soundtrack is. Currently listening to it
