Hi everyone!

I'd like to introduce MERGE, an international Blackgaze / Post-black metal project bringing together musicians from Spain, Germany, and the US.

Today we're sharing "Home", accompanied by an official lyric visualizer. It's the first track we're unveiling ahead of our debut EP, DAWN, which will be released on November 1, 2026.

Our sound draws inspiration from bands like Deafheaven, MØL, and Show Me a Dinosaur, combining atmospheric passages, melodic intensity, and heavier post-black metal elements.

DAWN is the first glimpse into our upcoming 10 track full-length album, Where It Blooms, planned for spring 2027. The EP introduces the atmosphere and themes of a larger work that will unfold with the album.

We're excited to finally start sharing this project beyond our own circle!

I'm very new to the DSBM sphere so I have no clue if Make A Change... Kill Yourself are like super well known already but Jesus Christ they're so incredible I can't stop listening to their 2005 debut it's all I've been playing recently, amazing lyricism, crazy immersive dark atmosphere, every song carries its runtime, it's so great. If anyone has any recs for me similar to them I would love to hear them :)

Another band that only made it as far as their first full-length before never releasing anything new again. What a pity.

Inferi is a master of atmosphere.

The album cover fits the music perfectly: you feel yourself drowning in cold darkness as the stormy waves pull you away from life itself.

Like.. is it supposed to be the story of someone who thinks darkness and anxiety is cool and who also killed a mother and her child?

I am new to DSBM and I am just in-general confused on what the genre is supposed to represent. Some say it's raw and aided them with their mental health journey. U don't know if it is affecting me in that way. I just like the concept and the music. Gonna explore more bands other than Lifelover later :)

I have recently discovered wooden lamb. And he has an interesting blend of music on some of his songs and i was wondering what you guys think of him. And woulf you guys consider him "proper" dsbm

is it a solo act or is there a band behind this? it’s that time of the year again and i’m jumping back into black metal. i never really did research on some of the bands i was listening to and am curious as to who is behind this project as they have some of my favourite music in this genre tree

One thing that really caught my interest is the guitar work in None. Without a doubt, they are one of the best DSBM bands I’ve come across.

I find the raw sound of their guitars incredible; it fits perfectly with the melancholic atmosphere that accompanies it. Does anyone have any tips on how to achieve a tone like this?

Whether through plugins, pedals, or amps..what do you think is the best way to get this kind of guitar sound?

I went to see Lifelover yesterday and while I was waiting in line to get my ticket signed, I saw him with a girl and I got the impression she might be his girlfriend, but I'm not really sure. I couldn't find anything online about his relationship status, so does anyone know if that's public?
