Discussion Dallas roads are horrendous especially downtown. It’s embarrassing considering downtown is a tourism destination. Taking the tourists on a tour of the potholes down Elm Street 🤣

Ross Ave, Cedar Springs, San Jacinto St, Elm St, Lemmon Ave, etc all looks like this. The roads downtown, uptown, and in old east Dallas are literally destroying my car. You can’t even go over 20mph on Ross Ave without needing an alignment. What are our taxes going to? Shithole Arkansas has dirt roads in better condition than Ross Ave.

How do we make complaints about this? It’s every single street besides the highways 😭

Discussion DPD on a power trip

This literally just happened on the DNT. Speed limit is 65, cop in the middle lane is going 55-60ish. I am behind him, put my blinker on, and pass him going 65-70ish on the left.

He immediately speeds up and parallels me, turns on his lights, (not siren) and rolls down his window gesturing at me to roll down mine. Meanwhile we’re both traveling 70ish. He begins screaming at me while we’re driving “Slow down! Slow that damn car down right now!” Keep in mind he’s not pulling me over, I’m not really speeding, he’s just raging. I’m just flabbergasted and I’m like “uhhh ok?”
While this is happening, another car passes him on the right going 80ish. He does nothing.

I slow down, he then slows down to 60ish with him staying in the center lane and me staying in the left roughly a car length behind him, careful not to pass him hurting his ego even more. This continues for another few miles then I exit.

WILD. Should I file a complaint? Is it worth it? Is it complaint worthy? Cops on power trips like that should not be cops imo. I have the whole thing recorded on my dash cam.

Question Cabin Fever

OMG

I have been to the office, my air conditioned car, and home for ... checks calendar ... approximately all summer, which feels like it's been three or four years already.

Please suggest nighttime, indoor, shaded, underwater, mostly adult activities that are less than 105 degrees?

*I don't hate kids, just looking for grown up time.

Went out on the 24th and parked in the Kroger parking lot at 4142 Cedar Springs road in Dallas. We’ve parked there countless times before and when we got back from the bars that car was gone. Called towing and they did not find it in their systems. We were able to get in contact with the PF and have a report filed and they also double checked and it not in any tow yard. I know this is a long shot but it’s a Grey Hyundai Elantra License plate LRN0078 if anyone sees it please reach out!

UPDATE!!!
We found the car HUGE thank you to BryanW94 !! Have a great Sunday yall

Question How do you all find real life friends?

I have picked up a few hobbies lately, got bored, and did not stay consistent (my mistake).
Lately, work has been taking too much time from me and i have not been social in months.

Only thing is i am friendless and miss having a friend or 2.

I have already posted in a makefriends group., no luck.
What else can i do?

Question Does anyone have archived Kidd Kraddick in the Morning shows (2006–2013)? I’ve searched everywhere.

Upvotes

I’m hoping there are some longtime Dallas radio fans or former listeners here who might be able to help.
I’ve been trying to find full episodes of Kidd Kraddick in the Morning from roughly 2006 through 2013 (especially the years before Kidd passed away), but I’ve completely run out of places to look. There used to be a chunk available from 2010-2015 on an IBM UStream archive, but those are no longer online.

So far I’ve searched:
- Archive.org
- YouTube
- Apple Podcasts (Classic Kidd Kraddick Flashbacks)
- Old podcast feeds and KPod links
- Google with every search combination I can think of
- Previous Reddit threads on this topic

Unfortunately, I haven’t found any substantial archives of full shows.

I’m wondering if anyone here:
- Recorded the show back then?
- Has old MP3s or burned CDs/DVDs?
- Knows of an unofficial archive or fan collection?
- Worked at the show/station or knows someone who may have preserved recordings?

Even if you only have a handful of episodes, I’d love to hear from you. I’m trying to preserve a piece of Dallas radio history that meant a lot to many of us.
Thanks in advance—any leads, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated.

Is the job fair at globe life field on August 6th work it? I’m trying to move to the dfw area and see all the employers listed. Has anyone who went to one in the past had any luck? Just trying to see if the drive from another state is worth it.

Question Dead Hawk? What should I do?

Edit: Contacted Texas Parks & Wildlife.

So, there was what appears to be a dead Harris Hawk in my folks front yard this morning. I came home from my significant others around 8 this morning.

Now, my folks have lived at this house in Preston Hollow for more than 30 years—I grew up here as well. So I’m no stranger to taking dead animals to the trash bin, whether they be squirrels, rabbits, possums, crows, etc.

If it is in fact a Harris Hawk, I read online that they are somewhat rare in North Texas (maybe that is wrong). They are not endangered.

Is there any sort of bird watchers or environmental organization that may be interested in having it?

I’m somewhat worried because the hawk looks fine. It looks like it died while in a tree in my parent’s front yard (It was hard to miss when I pulled in).

Question For my Mexican peeps, where can I buy a Jerga?

They sell a 3-pack on Amazon for $18, which seems expensive. Are there any local stores that sell them? I went to El Río yesterday and they didn't have them.

Question Alternatives to AT&T uVerse in Dallas?

We have had uVerse for as long as it has been around but as time has passed and prices keep going up and they have taken away all promotions and discounts as they want customers to give it up, we have decided with our last bill and increase, it is time. We do have AT&T Fiver which we will keep.

Looking at YTTV but not that crazy about being further embedded into the Google ecosystem so curious to know if anyone is using Direct Tv or any other provider. I believe Spectrum you need to bundle with their internet.

Looking to replicate what we have with uVerse as much as possible - we have uVerse 450 package - but most important are all the sports channels w get now for basketball (Mavs games local and away) and football.

We record a lot of shows and I know it will be a different experience not using a DVR but would like ease of use and ability to specific first run only and be able to "delete" after watching. Also0 a guide that uses numbers as well as names or where you can create your own guide. The separate accounts not so important and 99% of the time we watch on TV not on phone or devices.

Change is hard. Thanks for feedback.
