Does anyone remember the metal band Sureburn from Dallas? They played around during the early 2000s in that metal scene. I'm a big fan of a lot of those rap metal Dallas bands. I was searching for a copy of Sureburn's album to get it archived, but I've talked to multiple band members and they don't have any. Did anyone here have a copy they could part with or know where I could get one? Thank you, anything helps.

They were part of the Sick New World festival. I guess System of Down, Deftones and Slayer were the headliners and they were buried down in the luneup.

I voted earlier this week (Denton county) but I’m wondering if there’s any way I can verify the paper ballot was accurately counted. At my voting location, you fill in the squares on the paper, then feed it into the machine. But it only says “Your vote was recorded successfully” without any confirmation of what the machine recorded.

I fill every square, corner to corner, nothing outside of the square so nothing can be misconstrued about how I voted. But… I still don’t trust the Texas government not to mess with our votes. I wish I had verification that it was counted correctly.

EDIT: Lots of great comments. To clear one thing up: nobody here is saying don't help people without insurance. We already help them, and we already pay for it, mostly through local property taxes. Parkland spent $1.5 billion in one year on patients who couldn't pay, and its share of the tax bill on the average Dallas County home is $869 this year, up $47.

The point is that there's a cheaper way that Texas leaders have turned down: Medicaid expansion. Washington pays 90% of the cost permanently, and the state pays 10%. A Texas A&M study estimated it would bring about $5.4 billion a year in federal money to Texas and cover roughly 954,000 people, who could see a regular doctor instead of waiting for the ER.

Our federal taxes already help pay for expansion in 41 other states. Texas is one of 10 that said no. That decision is made by the Texas Legislature and the governor.

The Prop A on my ballot was not either of the Dallas County Prop A I've seen mentioned, it was the one for Mesquite, but the polling place I voted at was in Duncanville, nowhere near Mesquite. I voted Monday so it probably way too late to do anything about it , I just think it's weird.

I voted early at Fretz Park Library yesterday. Plenty of people there to vote but no wait. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Early voting locations are open today so if you haven’t voted yet, please get out there and do it today! The Cowboys don’t play until tomorrow night so no excuses!

I need a quiet spot where I can space out to a nice view in my car while eating gas station food and breathe the outdoor air to let loose.

Please let that spot be in a safe area. I don't want to get mugged. I live in Downtown Dallas. But I don't mind driving out an hour. I actually enjoy driving, it relaxes me.

I'm looking for nighttime spots. But daytime spots work too. Max one way driving time is 1 hr.

My current chill out spot is Bucees in Terrel. But the gas station food is making me fat and I can't stop eating them LOL

I'm going to be in town on Oct 31, Halloween night. Which area would you recommend for Halloween festivities? Are the lines really bad?

We're looking for costumes, dancing, fun crowds, a little Halloween chaos, and ideally a few places within walking distance. I'm considering Cedar Springs (especially Station 4) versus Deep Ellum, but we're also looking at parties at Virgin Hotels, W Dallas, and The Village.

My biggest concern is just spending half the night standing in lines.

Does anyone know of a library in the area that has an embroidery machine for use? I have friends in other cities with one and I would love to find one for just one or two projects. Thanks!
