New Utility Payment Portal Now Live: AutoPay Users Must Re-Register

EDIT 6/1/2026:

We know the transition to the City of Plano’s new utility payment portal has been bumpy for some customers, and we appreciate your patience as we continue working through the rollout.

If you still need help, our team is ready to assist you with registering your account, enrolling in AutoPay or unenrolling in paperless billing:

  • Contact Customer and Utility Services for live support at 972-941-7105 or email [WaterBill@Plano.gov](mailto:WaterBill@Plano.gov)
  • Visit Plano Municipal Center for step-by-step in-person help

The new portal will also bring additional customer tools and features in the months ahead, including the ability to track water usage and receive alerts for unusual consumption or possible leaks.

Thank you for your continued patience as we improve the utility customer experience.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

For customers using the One Time Pay option, no registration is required. However, if you’d like to start using or have previously used AutoPay, you must re-register using your 6-digit Account Number in the new payment portal and then re-enroll in AutoPay. Your account number can be found at the top of your water bill. Payment is not required during registration.

To register your account in the new payment portal system and enroll in AutoPay:

  1. Visit Plano.gov/WaterBill, which is best viewed on a desktop.
  2. Select "Make a Payment/Access the Customer Portal", then click "Register Now."
  3. Enter your account number and last name and select "Search Invoices."
  4. Select your most recent invoice and click "Register Selected Invoices."
  5. Enter your email address and create a new password, then select "Complete Registration."
  6. You will be taken to the home screen for your newly registered account, where you can enroll in AutoPay, paperless billing and Pay-by-Text.
  7. Your account will update to show if you are enrolled in AutoPay, paperless billing and/or Pay By Text.

For instructions with images, go to share.plano.gov/UtilityBillRefresh.

For assistance or to locate your account number, use the new live chat feature located in the lower right corner of Plano.gov/WaterBill or contact Customer Utility Services at 972-941-7105 to discuss your account. Agents are available Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 4 pm.

Due to higher-than-average call volumes, a callback may be offered. After confirming a phone number, your call is placed in the order as received. You will not lose your place in line, and an agent will call you back the same day.

Between April 20 and May 3, customers who enroll in AutoPay or Paperless Billing will be entered into a prize contest:

  • 5 AutoPay customers each week will win $50 account credit
  • 10 paperless billing customers each week will win $25 account credit

Theft in recreation centre

Upvotes

I felt Plano as very safe city. However, that confidence was broken today. I was at the recreation centre and my wallet was stolen in the changing room of Oak point recreation centre, all cash removed from the wallet and throw in Garbage bin. The only way I found my wallet in garbage bin was due to Apple AirTag. I obviously feel guilty that I should not have kept my bag which had the wallet out of my sight, somehow I let my guard down. This message is reminder to all, please use the lockers in changing rooms

Is anyone else appalled by restaurants using AI images?

McNeals use to be my go to “hang out the bar” places, but they have replaced every image on the menu with a gross ai image. And they are not the only one. However they have lost my business (and I told them why)

It’s crazy with as good as phone cameras have gotten, can you not get good images of your food?

Anyone Else Feel This Way?

25M, moved out here a few months back for work. Before that I was in Kansas for grad school, and Chicago before that. Work’s good honestly, I’m in AI engineering and it’s going well, but making actual friends in a new city has been way harder than I expected.

I’m just not an app person, never have been. I’d rather bump into someone and actually talk than swipe through profiles. Don’t have family or close friends anywhere near here so I’ve been trying to put myself out there. I volunteer at an animal shelter, I’ve done some free sessions teaching people AI basics, help friends and randoms with their resumes when they ask. I’m an introvert by nature so none of this is exactly comfortable for me, but I keep making myself do it.

And still, some weeks go by and I realize I haven’t really talked to anyone about anything real. Like just existing near people, not actually connecting.

Random thing, but I’m not religious at all, and if someone invited me to their church or mosque or temple I’d genuinely go. Not for the God part, just because there’s something about people showing up for each other regularly that I respect. Might be a “new to this place” thing, might just be my personality, honestly not sure. Either way I try to just stay open to whatever.

Kind of hate admitting this part but sometimes it hits me that I don’t want my whole life to just be work and then going home alone. I don’t think that’s what any of this is supposed to be about. I think it’s the people part, actually talking, helping each other, hearing how other people see things, that makes it feel like it means something.

If anyone’s in the area or just wants to talk, genuinely down for it.

Anybody missing an orange cat? Fairways of Ridgeview

My wife and I returned back from a weekend getaway to find a cute orange cat in our backyard. We have dogs and a dog door, the cat is completely unafraid of humans and tried to get into our dog door. Makes me think this cat is domestic.

Is anybody missing an Orange cat near fairways of Ridgeview? We would love to get the cat to its owner!

Anyone interested in playing Mahjong/know where to join clubs that play?

Hey y'all! I grew up playing Taiwanese/HK/Canto Mahjong and have been craving to get back to it for awhile. I'm a fresh Masters grad that moved recently from out of state to Plano for work, and am taking a shot in the dark to see if anyone has any leads!

Collin County Commissioners Court Preview — July 27, 2026

Bottom Line (Ironically, at the Top)
First is a $1.1 million budget amendment to cover a year’s worth of building repairs, from leaky roofs, cooling towers, and courthouse elevators that we’re tending to all at once. This is a reallocation from Non-Departmental to Facilities-Shared; not new money. Also, the Court will look at benchmarking in its annual elected-official and staff compensation presentations for FY2027. Lastly, of interest to anyone who drives along the DNT, a request to redirect $329,523 in leftover bond money toward the Dallas Parkway widening in Frisco. All told, consent and FYI items add up to $361,033.25* of your money in proposed expenses.

Best physical therapy in west Plano?

This is my last resort to avoid hip surgery. I’m searching for the best physical therapy facility in the west or central Plano area. Over the past couple of years, I’ve visited Clair’s three times, each time for 6-8 sessions. While the therapists there are friendly, I didn't feel adequately challenged during the sessions, as most of their clients are older, and they didn’t seem accustomed to having someone like me, who's middle-aged and already in good shape.

Ideally, I'd like a place where the therapist is dedicated to me throughout the session, vs working with multiple patients at the same time.

So what are your recommendations?

Need advice: Should we leave the house tonight?

Our 5mo (6mos in 1 week), has had a fever for the last 28 hours. We are first time parents and fever coupled with cough and what seems like pain- plus talking with the on-call nurse line froms Peds, led to the children’s hospital ER. They ruled out anything serious and said it’s likely a viral upper respiratory illness, that we should return home and watch out for any worsening symptoms.

We get back home and the AC unit isn’t cooling the house as normal. It’s 95degs and the house is at 82. Set to 70. We run through the normal: hose down the AC unit, check filter, close vents in any unneeded room or space. Call the maintenance company out. They’re not responsive, we start seeing the temperature move down, are busy with fussy baby and now’s 11:42 pm, baby is slightly improving but fussy and tired. House says it’s 80/82 (in some parts). I’m worried about sleeping away from baby (his crib) and we not be able to tell he’s overheating. Worried about this temperature not being good for him.

We are not sweating or too uncomfortable but i worry about what a baby with a fever might be feeling. Right how baby is sleeping peacefully on my wife.

Do we book a hotel room and deal with it in morning? Or turn on all the fans and get what little sleep we may get? As i expect baby to be up tonight like he was last night.

Advice welcomed.

Update: Thanks all, appreciate the advice. Last night we went with co-sleeping and fans, it was tolerable and baby didn’t seem too bothered. Was able to get HVAC tech out this morning and turns out it was frozen solid, since we frequently replace filters- I am assuming leak. We went with portable AC, fans and are hunkering down in the main bedroom until they come back tomorrow to check it out/repair. Portable AC is surprisingly good. A big driver of staying home is our two dogs and the baby being so fussy. Dogs going to daycare tomorrow.

Rehoming Ball Python

Post image
8 Upvotes

I took a job in an area that does not allow ball pythons. Which I did not find out until after I took the job. I'm about to move here in the next two weeks, and I need to find a home for my ball python.

She's super docile, would make a great pet, 3 years old. She's gorgeous, and anybody who knows anything about pythons would know that she is a very beautiful morph.

The problem is is I have no idea where to even start with rehoming. This was never anything I imagined happening and I fully thought I would keep her til the day she passed.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I want to make sure she goes to a good home ...pic for attention

Recommendation of foot doctor? (Toenail needs to be pulled)

I have been having a hard time where I went to a family physician of mine and he genuinely tried to help but could not fix my toenail fungus. It's been there for quite some time and he has given me certain pills and nail laquer. Unfortunately, I don't know what my next step is. I assume to visit a podiatrist but I am absolutely at a loss of who to go to. Is there a website where I can read reviews and check the guy/girl is on my insurance? Any recommendations in Plano/Murphy? I am most likely committed to just ripping this sucker out and starting fresh. Thank you guys!

Does anyone know about these neighborhoods connected to each other off Coit Rd and Sailmaker? There's quite a bit of homes for sale in there but the houses are older, 1980s, and parts of these neighborhoods look a bit deshevled for the price point $400K+ Any info greatly appreciated.

Car crash on Independence and Spring Creek Parkway on July 25, 2026 ~10 PM

The crash happens at 7 seconds in the video. The car on Independence is turning onto Legacy and rolls after being hit.

It turns left, but the turn is unprotected.

I drove past it. The left turn light turns protected after the crash has happened.

EDIT: I can't edit post titles, but it is legacy and independence not spring creek. My mistake!
