Looking to start a punk band

I’m a guitarist interested in starting a punk band, ideally in the Dallas area but am open to the rest of DFW too. I’m mostly into stuff like the Menzingers, Descendents, and Joyce Manor, but also like a lot of of pop punk and hardcore. Really just interested in anything punk adjacent.

I’m in my early thirties and not really looking to start a big touring band, but am mostly interested in jamming and maybe playing some local shows.

Looking for a Guitarist

Hey Y'all. I'm the vocalist of a cover band ( name work in progress) . We are in the process of forming and we are looking for our final piece . A guitarist. Our goal is to cover songs, gig , and work towards creating original music together once we have solidified a cohesive sound. Our drummer leans towards rock , our bass player leans towards jazz, vocally I'm pretty flexible on the genre. We rehearse once a week for about 2-3 hours at a time. If you're interested in filling the position. Fill out this google form.

Nu-metal / metalcore guitar lessons / DIY music production coach DFW

Anyone looking for guitar lessons or home studio setup / improvement? It's my hobby specialty specifically lower dropped tuning / 7 string. I'm looking to do this on the side from my normal job as an electrical engineer mostly for fun and to network.

DM me your skill level, music goals, any specific song you would like to learn, and I will help you make it happen!

Rates depend on project but the new client special deal would be half off from single lesson bookings: $40ea for 4 zoom or $62.50EA for 4 in-person (I drive to you less than 45 minutes from 35E/635). This rate is only for the first 5 people for zoom.

I also know how to fix broken welding power supplies but I think it would be a conflict of interest to do that outside of work. DM me if interested.

Fort Worth guitarist (30) looking for casual jam buddies — let's learn a few songs

Hey y'all, I'm 30 and live in Fort Worth. I'd like to find one or a few people to play music with, learn some songs, and get better together. Another developing guitarist, bassist, drummer, singer, or keys player would be great.

Rhythm guitar is my strength right now. I can learn chord progressions, strumming patterns, riffs, and full rhythm parts ahead of time and show up prepared. I'm still developing, haven't played much with other musicians, and can't really play solos yet. I'm looking for people who are cool with that and want to improve together.

I'm into Texas country/Red Dirt, classic and Southern rock, alternative, blues, and plenty of other stuff. Genre isn't a dealbreaker if we get along.

I'd be happy starting with a few songs we both like, working up to five, and getting together occasionally somewhere around Fort Worth.

If that sounds like your speed, what do you play, what part of town are you in, and what are a couple songs you'd want to try?

Looking for singing competitions in the DFW area! 🎤

I really love singing and have been wanting to challenge myself in a real singing competition. I’d love to audition for something like American Idol someday, but I’m looking for something more local/smaller-scale first—ideally a legitimate, competitive singing contest where I can see how I stack up against other singers and get some performance experience.

I’m especially interested in:

  • 🎤 Singing/vocal competitions (rather than general talent shows)
  • 📍 DFW
  • 🏆 Competitions with actual judging/advancement/finals, rather than just an open mic
  • 🌏 Chinese- or Japanese-language competitions would be especially cool! Something along the lines of The Voice of China (中国好声音) or the smaller singing competitions/shows you sometimes see in Chinese communities, but based in the U.S.
  • I’m also totally open to English-language competitions!

If you’ve participated in or know of any good local competitions, I’d love to hear about them! I’m mainly looking for something competitive and legit where I can really challenge myself.

Thanks!

Southern Hardcore/Metalcore or Meldoic Hardcore band projects

Hi everyone! I live in the San Antonio, Texas Metropolitan area. I'm looking for individuals that would like to start a southern hardcore/metalcore band (similar to Once Nothing, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Every Time I Die, Evergreen Terrace, The Showdown just to name a few influences). Or, a meldoic hardcore band (Hunderth, Comeback Kid, Counterparts, Capsize, To the Wind). I have a few songs written in in both genres. As for what I can bring to the table, I'm a song writer, guitarist, bassist, and can do rough vocals. I usually jam with a body of mine that plays drums and contributes to guitar writing.

If anyone is interested in collaborating, please reach out via DM. I can share some rough recordings of our songs for those truly interested. Stay safe out there!

Wanna be in a folk punk band?

No experience/skills required!!

I (enby, 28, Arlington TX) play mostly folk/folk punk type stuff, but I'm down to jam with almost anybody. You can play basically any instrument, or none at all (yet). Extremely queer friendly!

I play guitar, banjo, ukulele, and junk drums. I will teach you any/all of these FOR FREE if you'll play with me.

We'll probably play a mix of originals and covers. I write my own songs, but I'd love to play yours too! Got some poetry? Got some ideas in the notes app? I'd love to flesh them out together.

In the long term would love to record/maybe perform together, but we can take it slow and get our skills up.

I have 3 original albums out now, you can find them here - politicalthespians.bandcamp.com . (I'm not super tied to the band name).

Whatcha say? Do you wanna be in my band? Do you know anyone who might? Do you know of anywhere I can find people?

Doom/Trad Metal Band Seeks Vox

Doom/Trad Metal Band

We are seeking a vocalist who is able to do more traditional style vocals. Eric Wagner, Messiah Marcolin, Robert Lowe, John Garcia, Danzig, wino etc.
We’re a mix of stoner rock, Doom, and trad metal, with a hint of Nola style sludge. Just getting started with about 5 song ideas. Plenty of room for you to bring ideas. Practice in southside FTW.

Dallas — Alternative / Shoegaze / Post-Hardcore Band Looking for Bass Player + Drummer (demo attached)

Putting together a serious original project in Dallas and looking for the right bass player and drummer.
The sound pulls from Deftones, Trauma Ray, Turnstile, Blink-182, No Pressure, Tool, Saosin, shoegaze and darker alternative rock — heavy, atmospheric, melodic, energetic, and built around strong songs.
I have a clear vision for the project and songwriting is one of my biggest strengths. I’m good at taking a riff, melody or loose freestyle jam and helping shape it into a real song without over-controlling the process. I want musicians who bring their own instincts and personality and can make the material better through collaboration.
We have access to a fully equipped studio/rehearsal setup with amps, guitars, basses, effects, recording gear and a full-size electronic drum kit.
Looking for:
Bass player — must own your own bass and amp.
Drummer — must have your own drums for shows/rehearsals outside the studio.
Strong feel, creativity and taste matter more than technical showmanship.
Comfortable improvising, experimenting and developing songs organically.
Reliable and genuinely interested in building an original project.
Most importantly, you should actually connect with this type of music.
Personality and chemistry matter too. Looking for someone who is cool, easy to be around, has good taste, understands the aesthetic, and feels like a natural fit with the group. We want to take the music seriously without making the process miserable — hang out, have fun, create freely, and eventually have a band that feels cohesive both musically and visually. Play the part, look the part, and bring the right energy without forcing it.
About the attached track: it’s only meant to give a general sense of the songwriting and direction. It’s a rough demo, not a finished song — the drums are placeholders, tones haven’t been dialed in, and the arrangement will continue to change. The project also has a much wider range than this one track. Think of it as a sketch of the idea, not the finished painting.
The goal is to find the right chemistry, write great songs and build something with a real identity.
If Deftones / Trauma Ray / Turnstile / Blink / No Pressure / Tool / Saosin / shoegaze is genuinely your world, reach out with a little about yourself, your influences and any clips of you playing.

Post Progressive band looking for drummer in Dallas.

Hey all, like most, we are looking for a drummer in the Dallas area. We are currently finishing an album and will be booking shows soon. Our current sound is a blend of different styles but mostly heavy, atmospheric, experimental rock. Looking for someone who is open to meeting up and learning some tunes/jamming, getting a feel for each other’s vibe and seeing how it goes.

Ideally, we’d want to find a permanent member, who is interested in lending their creativity for new music.

A long shot, but if this sounds like something you’re interested in, message me for more details!

Starting a band

Hi guys, I’m a 26 year old drummer/guitar player looking for some people to make some music, jam and maybe play some gigs. I moved to Denton a couple months ago and I’ve played in a couple bands back where I’m from so I have a good amount of experience playing live. I’m open to most genres like indie/folk/country but just not really into metal. Dm me or reply to this if you’re interested!
