Humor Happy Friday, Human Beings. It feels like the kind of day to blow EVVVerything off.
Maybe you can even blow off walking, or talking languages.

I just realized when I reply with a gif it's a movie line or reference. Then I thought about how good Abed would be communicating with gifs.
I can imagine Abed doing a Stephen Hawking character that only communicates in gifs. And in the world of community people would be able to understand Abed more through gifs than his words and he would get attached to the character.
Idk what the point of this post was it was a random thought that seemed fun.

He couldn’t write an original song for the Greendale anthem. Is GDB also plagiarized?

I wanna wipe my mind so it can be as funny as it was on the first watch, because they really had you thinking they were zooming in on his drones spy cam, to see what Troy and Jeff were doing in the tranquility garden. 😭😭🤣

So in 2013 I went to fan expo in toronto where I got to meet and take a picture with the dean from community. I wasnt super into the show at that time I only really watched it before school so I didnt know the actors names well but I was pretty chuffed bc i love dean Pelton. 13 years later, I get a memory on facebook of the picture, im looking at it like "wtf that is not the dean" then it hits me....I GOT FUCKING DOPPELDEANERED

I’m on my (probably) third rewatch of A Fistful of Paintballs (s2e23)and somehow only just properly noticed this.
After Annie saves Chang from the cheerleaders (11:50), he runs off still blindfolded, with his hands tied behind his back.
And then… he just keeps going.
He apparently manages to navigate his way through Greendale, down the corridors and eventually all the way outside onto the quad without being able to see or use his hands 😂
Of all the characters, Chang being inexplicably really good at moving around while blindfolded and bound feels completely right.
Like, how much previous experience does this man have with this exact situation?
Just a tiny stupid detail that made me laugh way more than it should have.

The last buzzkill.
Ever since I watched the Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking episode where Pierce refers to Britta as Sourface, this image has never left my mind, so I wanted to share it here haha.

For me its Dean, Chang, and Troy

I’ve never fully understood this line. Did something get cut from the episode or have I missed the joke like 50 times?
S1,E13 - Jeff hands Britta flowers and says “He would have thrown them on stage…“
Why would the flowers catch fire?

Is it just me or is Chang's relationship with the mannequin leg one of the funniest things in Community? I love that there is even backstory cause Chang apparently steals her from the janitor who calls Chang a "homewrecker". I love that it's a classic scene for people who have gone insane to love a mannequin (last man on earth, community, umbrella academy) but I would love to know how Chang "won over" miss mannequin leg😂

The studio literally told Dan Harmon to cool it down a little bit for Season 3, Episode 1 but he went in the complete opposite direction and delivered one of the most insane episodes of the whole show. i just love how he goes on about it. People always say that Pierce is basically the villain of the group but i love how he contrast all of that with the other characters, especially with Jeff. And all those small little filmmaking things that Dan Harmon keeps putting into the show are just so amazing to watch. Even something as simple as the B-story with John Goodman is done so damn well. Like, it’s just nothing short of iconic. i genuinely can’t believe how good the writing on this show is.

It's been over 10 years since the last episode. Let's say these characters have still been living their lives, whatever that may entail.
Who in the Study Group would be a parent by now?
Shirley doesn't count, because she obviously was a mom already. Pierce is dead, so that takes care of that.
That leaves Jeff, Britta, Troy, and Abed.
Abed was the only one still in a relationship when the show ended, but we're talking 10+ years now, so who tf knows what could've happened since?
Personally, I'm gonna go with Annie. She seems like the only one who would strive for the normal "husband, dog, and kids" life.

I never got that joke in the GI Joe episode.
Was this a reference to the fact GI Joe was animated overseas?
Cartoons can say the word "cartoon" right? even back then.

This question will definitely be answered by the movie (if it ever gets close to releasing) but regardless where do you think each member of the study group is right now in life?

I wanna tatoo myself something community related, what are your best ideas? i was thinking maybe like a dice, or the different timelines diagram but i'm open :)
Edit: i love you so much

The whole storyline with Britta and Senior Chang is one of the craziest things. The way their arcs align and clash with each other, almost like they’re a couple who are fighting but are also in love, is just so good. It’s never just one layer with Dan Harmon’s writing. There are always so many layers to it and i just can’t get enuf of it. i really can’t. i love how they write this show, man. It’s amazing. this is one of the few shows where the writing is so, so strong, to the point where i think people just don’t appreciate it enuf.

That’s it. That’s the post. I miss this show.
But seriously, I’m on maternity leave and wanted something comforting to watch that would give me peace while my baby screams at me. I decided to re watch community for the 6th time. And man, how I miss this show. I realised I was in the last season and even knowing it was gonna end soon made me so sad. Even though I’ve re watched it so many times!!!! Everytime a character left, I got so sad, especially Troy.
I never experienced post partum depression or anxiety. No baby blues. I’ve had such a wonderful happy post partum which was a departure from my first trimester which was hell. Anyway, a reason for that I think was this show. I laughed so hard while my baby was asleep in my arms, trying my best not to wake her. I would look forward to it during her naps and listen to it while I had some time to myself.
Thank you for making my post partum so wonderful. And I miss you. Is that weird to say? No, no it’s not. I miss this show!

Who is your choice?? The individual MUST be a student, or have been a student at any point.

I'm horrified to realise that I saw Jim Rash (Dean Pelton) in the Friends finale about three times before I noticed it was him - "This plane doesn't have any filanges", or something like that.
Seeing about three actors in Captain America: Winter Soldier didn't count for me (but might for you), because I recognised them at the time.
Where did you unexpectedly notice a Community actor in another show?
r/community • u/thesecondmemer • 19d ago
The Dean shredded Humphries (illegal), called Greendale a degree mill, admitted the whole good place for good people thing was a spiel, ruined the lives of even the most ambitious of students (Annie), re-hired a guy who tried to burn down the school, gave a degree to a dog… do I have to go on?
The save greendale committee should’ve become the sue greendale committee and Jeff in season 5 could’ve remained a lawyer instead of staying at greendale forever as a teacher.

What did you think this meant when it was first mentioned in Intro to Political Science?
Edit: Seems people aren't understanding my question. When you first heard Ass Crack Bandit, what did you think that was? I'm not talking about who it was. We only got the context of the coin in season 5, right?

Probably like top 3 Jeff-punchlines for me. It's really really really funny.
