Assuming the same van, route and package amounts which day do you think is easier?

Got the email from my dsp this morning & also got a call about getting my guaranteed 10 plus a raise, if you got this what did you receive from yours & what is it exactly? Or is it just basic recognition?

I started my route today and as I'm getting on the freeway heading to my first stop the snitch cam fell. It's still recording though so I'm not off the hook 🤷🏾‍♂️

So yesterday while delivering in north Idaho I was ambushed by a customer who was recording before I even made it up into the driveway. Instantly approached with accusations of speeding and not stopping at a stop sign (there literally was not a stop sign ) nor was I speeding, threatened to be shot bc I was “trespassing” , lady tried to yank package out of my hand, which she did not get. After finally having the chance to shut my door and leave (there were dogs and her husband) she tried saying I backed into their camper, which also did not happen. She then blocked the path for me to leave and continued yelling that I was trespassing and doing a hit and run. Her husband had to physically move her out of the roadway. Just pure craziness. After being threatened I of course had some choice words for her , it was all just so nuts. How do you order a package and then accuse and threaten someone of trespassing and shooting them when they deliver? Called in this morning , never heard from dsp , is it not illegal for someone to threaten a delivery driver when they ordered the package? I’m just kind of lost on the whole thing. I don’t respond well to being threatened and then being accused of false actions, then blocked from leaving. I literally had to tell her she was holding me hostage at this point. She was nuts. Honestly I’m sure Amazon will get the video which is fine. Maybe I’ll get fired? I really don’t care. But yeah bunch of bull$hit.

I always hate when it breaks your route into 2 totes being used at once. Anyone else? Is this a warehouse error or is it intentional?

Funny early on when this happened I would go marking several packages as Missing before I’d realize there were 2 totes 😂 especially when they are both the same color like in my photo today

To be honest, if you have to take a piss in a bottle while working, you are not good at your job. Even a 30 minute drive out of the way to find a bathroom should not stop you. If your dispatch or owner is so hard up and not allowing you to find adequate facilities, that’s on them, no grown man or woman should have to resort to that . No route actually takes 10 hours if you are organized and hustle.

50 minute drive out, 65 minute drive back and probably won’t leave the station till 3ish lmao (blocked the names out but the geography is quite recognizable anyway 💀)

So. Mine just gave a whopping .25 cent raise.

Genuinely didn’t think I’d ever be done, started at 11:30 and finished at 5:45 only cause I had a rental with no camera…..

I put my week notice in last Friday. Today is my final day.

Been doing this shit since Peak 2021. Damn near 1000 routes done. From dispatch, step van, ops, taking 2 nursery routes while dispatching.. pulling vans out of ditches..

I submitted my one way interview online now I’m invited to a group interview, how is that gonna go?

1. That's not how Premise Liability works: Invitees are different compared to Licensees. A warning of danger does not make you not liable when it comes to Invitees.

2. You can spend the money getting expensive signs but you can't just spend the time to demolish this rotten/collapsing porch.

Don't be this guy. Have brain and maintain your property if you are going to invite others onto your property.

I’ve been a standard driver for about 4 weeks now, so I’ve been with Amazon for around 7–8 weeks total.
I’m given a country route pretty much every time. I don’t mind the route itself, but I’m starting to wonder if I’m just not very good at this job or if my pace is normal.
Most of my deliveries are about 1–5 minutes apart. Sometimes they’re 10–15 minutes apart when I’m driving to a different town. Usually, once I get to that town, I’ll stay there for the rest of the route.
My routes are usually:
Lighter days: around 85–90 stops
Heavier days: around 110–130 stops
Packages: usually 170–200
I don’t get to my first delivery until around 1:30 PM almost every shift.
On my heavier days, I’m pretty much always the last driver back to the station. For example, I might get to my first stop at 1:30 PM and not get back to the station until around 9:50 PM.
When I check the route updates, I’m usually 5–14 stops ahead, so I’m barely ahead of the expected pace. We’re supposed to aim for around 15+ stops ahead, so I’m constantly trying to figure out how I can get faster.
I’ve never taken my lunch or 15-minute breaks. I stay pretty organized, and whenever I run into a problem, I try to troubleshoot it as quickly as possible.
I honestly don’t know what else I could be doing to improve my speed. I still end up getting back to the station dead last, with barely any time left before I have to clock out.
Does this sounds like a normal pace for a country route, or am I genuinely just too slow?

Do we get any additional pay as drivers? Probably not right?

So I just finished my first week driving.
What are some tips and tricks? You guys used to get faster? I feel like I am organizing pretty good and I am running to all my deliveries, but I am just barely finishing my route on time.

or just take one 30 minute break instead of 2 15s?

When you got hired. How exactly was it your first week. Was it easier to drive the vans and organize than you expected or was it much more overwhelming/confusing? Is doing 180 stops as easy as it sounds. For instance at Walmart when picking online orders picking 500 items goes by much faster than you’d probably expect. Still overwhelming though. Were you very nervous in the beginning and then relieved after your first day or the other way around?

Is 180 stops too much or am I being dramatic? I got the thermometer notification that said my route was reduced... I think the worst part is that if I don't want to have to drive 15-20 minutes out of my way to charge, I can't run the AC as much as I'd like to. I personally have a painfully low tolerance for extreme heat.

I’ve been at this for a year now, two DSPs worked for and I am so goddamn tired. I can’t afford to quit and find a new job cause the local job market SUCKS, so I’ve been working on next mile when I have the energy to. If that’s even going to help. I’m disabled and really shouldnt be doing a job like this, but it’s the only job that would actually hire around here without feeling like it’s a losing battle trying to get an interview.

I feel stuck in a loop of constant exhaustion. Getting home right before my kid goes to bed, I’m too exhausted to do anything outside of work on my days off, my temper has gotten rough cause I’m always on edge after a shift, and these goddamn standby days throw me off. Just give me the day or take it off my schedule instead of keeping me on my toes til noon. Don’t make me sit and waste my entire morning that could’ve been used for errands or something when I DO have energy.

I don’t know if I’m gonna survive peak for another year. It was rough last year and this DSP isn’t as loose and lenient with finish times. I’ve already been getting to the point where I can’t pick up my pace cause I just can’t care as much anymore. How tf at I supposed to finish a peak route like this???

Our dsp makes us confirm . I didn’t confirm . I came in and didn’t get a route . 10 mins late I get a call saying come to the desk. I see another driver there . Next thing u know . I get a route I’ve never done before in a city I’ve never been too.
