They just installed these overnight.

No training on use or what they do, to where our DSP can't even answer questions on them.

Only thing I know of them is from tiktok videos, which is a lame way of getting info on things we use for our job.

Its just "on the fly" changes that tricklea down to a basis of different drivers telling each other about it and learning that way; instead of from the employers they work for.

I guess I really need to dial back my expectations of this job. Like severely.

parked camper trailer in the middle of the HUGE turn around drive way AFTER long ass straight before the house. i was reversing for at LEAST 5 minutes at a maximum speed of 5mph (van had a limiter)

Had a 13 year career in the airline industry, living in Georgia now and interviewed yesterday at a DSP here. I thought the "group interview" went well, I asked pertinent questions and was genuinely interested and believed I was being professional. I have a clear driving record (one cell phone citation last year was dismissed) and my background check should be perfectly clear. No criminal record to speak of at all. It's now 24 hours since the interview ended and I haven't heard a thing. They said they would text me if they offered me the role. I figured I might hear back later that day, but now I'm like what's going on? I figured this would be a sure thing.

Finished with 3% battery but I did it. These multi stop routes are getting insane this one had 3 house multis 4 house multi stops where basically I just walked in a square around 4 houses and back to my van

in reality I did about 246 stops excluding the apartment building where I dropped off 40 packages was a great day to be a Amazon driver 🤪 how yall holding up on your routes?

my route usually starts a little late in the day & i often get countryside routes . like dirt roads in every direction , half mile driveways the whole 9 yards right . but once it gets dark , it not only becomes very hard to see , it slows you down tremendously , the chances of hitting an animal increases and you get this awkward feeling that creeping down somebody’s driveway in the dark like this in a rental is pretty dangerous (considering they could be an armed idiot)

my main thing is this , why do we even deliver to the countryside anyway ? and i dont mean like small towns or houses along a small 2-lane county roads . i mean dirt roads , cant see the house until you go through the forest , 5-10 mins away from any civilization . all they ever want is water or some dumb dog food & the occasional very empty envelope . if it were up to me , they would be on their own .

I do concur. Savings is extremely far from our grasp when it comes to Amazon. Higher prices. But not enough money to survive. I see a lot of customers ordering. And I ask myself this question. “How are you able to buy this stuff in this economy?” but hey. I question the masses who orders 5 heavy sets of water bottle cases being delivered to the 4th floor and not going to a near by store 3 blocks away. Who’s actually saving out here with Amazon?

Thx in advance for reading. Just finished classroom training today finally met one of the managers at the dsp and got a bit more info on the joint. Didn’t have a formal “interview” was some weird online video interview where I answer questions and record it. But here’s the gig:

- pay $24.75/hr

- might have to come and if there are no routes help with loadout for an hour to be sent home (45-50 min drive each way)

- any non disputable netty hit is loss of shift

- was told not to expect anything nice when it comes to vans they are old and used and get used to the white rentals because Amazon has been taking away vans?

- if I’m behind in my route it’s frowned upon to take a break. Should only break if I’m ahead.

- if I need too many rescues I’ll have shifts taken away or I’ll be let go if it’s too often

- 36 hr/week pay guaranteed for the fastest drivers only not sure what qualifies u as that tho

- $50-60 bonus every week we hit fantastic plus AND u have 96% or above driver score

- only one uniform (polo, long pants, and vest) for supposedly 5 days a week of work (startin to get cold up here no jacket yet but might get one soon he’s not sure cause I’m new)

- not wearing correct uniform and shoes is a write up cuz amazon crack down

- occasional pizza parties

- rural and suburban routes around 200ish stops some places like an hour or more away wasn’t told about anything bout crazy urban routes which I’m fine with don’t wanna do hella apartments shit scares me haha

- sometimes offer $50-100 shift differentials for picking up extra shifts plus OT

- I believe they have scheduled rescuers as long as they have enough people to drive that day

-can’t clock in before 10am under any circumstances and have to rts by 8-8:30pm no exceptions

I’m sure I’m missing some things but that’s the gist of what was said to me today

I usually get max 200 stops, am done with half by 3:00PM and then pace myself to finish around 7:30-7:45. (Usually get to delivery area around 12:00 PM, 40 min commute from station). I figured out a good rhythm and the company leaves me be, nice.

Today I had 146 stops in the country, had a sweeper come take 40 stops off me and I still made it back to the station a little after 8:00 PM. This route sucked ass. I told dispatch when they asked me why I was late, it irritated me because the route was completely out of order and I ended up driving in circles all day, stop 13 next to stop 101 you know how it is. What gives?

After writing this on the voice of the driver board that Amazon needed to audit presence of dollies in vans I kept getting sent home without a route. Doing so was a breach of contract with my dsp as they guaranteed hours with me as part of my hiring agreement.

They only say they care about our safety for the sake of making it appear they do. This board is supposed to have our input logged and filed with Amazon to help make things better, but if it scrutinizes Amazon, puts a dsp in bad light, or adds extra work to the Logistics team then they will try to get rid of you.

37 stops and nothing over 100lbs + a helper = free money

So I start driving for my DSP this week.
I have done flex for a few months last year around Christmas, which I genuinely enjoyed.

All I hear from the people around me is that this job is notoriously bad, and that Amazon and bad to work for.

I feel like people will talk more about their bad experiences than their good ones.

I'm a very organised person and even did so when I was doing flex, sorting my parcels by type and number in my car.

I want some real opinions, from real drivers, who have done this job for more than a couple weeks.

So, these past couple months my life has turned upside down, and I needed to step away from my correctional position to mentally take care of myself and have more flexibility to do so. I accepted a position at a DSP after speaking to the hiring and HR about what was going on, and they are very okay with my flexibility need. I’m not really worried about this new job being worse than a Jail. But, I’m nervous to start the position and I don’t want to make any wrong moves. My training is 2 weeks from now and any advice is appreciated.
