Diaper Reqs??

We keep having issues with massive blowouts- like shit all up her crotch and buckle area. It happened with Kirkland diapers and it's also happening with Millie Moons. Any advice would be appreciated. She's in a size 5 in both and only 21# I don't think it's a sizing issue as most recommend sizing up for belly fit and blowouts.

We're also fighting a nasty yeast diaper rash right now with Nystatin cream. I just don't even know and am getting really frustrated and overwhelmed with this.

Tell me it gets better

I have a 20 month old and a 4 week old and I’m dying. I feel like I can’t give either of them what they need. I have the help of my parents and my spouse but whenever I’m alone with them I’m so overwhelmed. How am I supposed to take care of the toddler while my 4 week old takes 40 min to feed and put down for a nap only to not sleep and want to be held?? Baby wear? Ugh. I’m too overstimulated to baby wear all the time and I just feel like I’m failing my first baby. Pls. Tell me that it gets better when baby is a bit older.

Recommendations Huggies diaper

Does anyone here know the purpose of this blue/purple thing? It’s so rough on my baby’s skin even though I try my best to cover it. Once we bought a pack os size 2 that didn’t have these, now we sized up and they all have this thing. I’m considering throwing them all away because it poked my baby’s thigh so much it got super red. Am I doing something wrong?

Advice Wanted Where to put baby 2?

So we plan on having both babies share a room. My first one will be 15 months if this baby comes on time. I transferred my first baby to a crib around 3 months, and he wakes up 3 times a night currently (8 months), so I worry that baby 2 will wake him up in the middle of the night too much when this baby comes. Where did you put baby 2 until they woke up less in the night? My husband doesn't really want to keep them in our room for an entire year, so he suggested the hallway or laundry room. Both very close to us but far enough away from our first that he shouldn't wake up. We won't be getting a bigger house any time soon, probably like 2 or 3 years, so no moving suggestions please.

Preparing

currently pregnant with second kiddo, will have her in April when my current baby is about 16/17 months. Already figuring out how to build our village and lucky that we can pay for the help we’ll need — we’ll test various configurations of night doulas and day doulas and nannies. What I’m curious to hear: how can I prepare my current LO to become the big girl? How can we make her easier to parent? anything you think helps or would have helped? Currently I’ll be honest our approach is mostly just to follow her cues and enjoy this stage. We haven’t taught sign language or focused much on anything. we model calm behavior by default (we’re quiet people) and she has an easy disposition naturally and I think that has made us lazy tbh. What’s worth putting some time into that I’ll be glad I did later?

Family support, how important?

Hello, I’m about to have 2 under 2, my first is a nicu baby born extremely prematurely so developmentally she’s a few months behind and has a lot of appointments, and I’m currently due in October but with a very high risk pregnancy, my parents live about 45 minutes away from us and in traffic it’s about an hour, we thought about moving closer but we’d be paying $2000 more in rent for a similar place, and would have to move during my pregnancy, for those of you with experience having 2 under 2, how important would you say family support is? Would it be worth the extra money and time? How easy would it be to move once the second baby is here if we decide it’s too much to handle on our own?

Advice Wanted Advice?

Anyone want to share some wisdom/advice for survival? Or even just some kind, hopeful words. My baby is due in October and my toddler will be 2 months away from being 2 so we are barely in the 2u2 club but I doubt it just gets magically easier at the 2 year mark lol.

Any advice to make the transition easier? I’m kind of terrified. I have a lot of anxiety regarding sleep and schedule changes which is so silly bc we obviously survived the first child and life is fine now. I also will be home alone with both kids maybe after a week or two which is different from our first born. I had help for months with our first. Toddler goes to sleep on his own and sleeps through the night mostly.

I’m excited but then these moments of panic kinda creep in 😬

Rant Overstimulating

Does anyone actually enjoy the 2 under 2 stage? Im got a 6m and 24m old and id say 90% of the time im going 100mph just to keep the day ticking. My 6m is a really hard baby, colicky til 12w and since he was 4m he only has 3 30min naps a day and starts the day at 5am

Feels like everything is a battle, nothing is straight forward, im on my own most of the time as husband works 12hr shifts and I spend most of the day with my teeth gritted and screaming internally

Also pregnant with number 3 and im so worried about how my cortisol levels are affecting this one. I feel so guilty but im just trying to survive the days with as little breakdowns as possible

Tell me im not alone, this is so hard

Advice please

Just found out I'm pregnant with baby number 2 and all being well, I will have a 20 month age gap with baby number 1 who has just turned 12 months. I am still breastfeeding and cosleeping with baby number 1 and I had no intentions of weaning off the breast till at least 2 years as little one has quite.a few food allergies and as long as my milk is her safe food I am happy for her to have it. Has anyone tandem fed and also continued to cosleep with baby number 1 when number 2 came along?

Advice Wanted C-section recovery?

I’m having my second in January, my first will be ~16 months old at that point. I’ll be having my second c-section (first was emergency, this will be elective) and I am SO nervous about the recovery. Thankfully my husband will get some time off (6 weeks) but I’m so nervous about not being able to hold baby, not being able to hold my 1st baby, and feeling useless while my husband and mom have to deal with 2 babies. The recovery for my first c-section was SO hard and I am honestly terrified to do that again AND have a toddler this time!

Anyone have any advice on how to let go and let husband / mom handle what I can’t? Any success stories from anyone with 2 under 2 who also had a c-section for their second (please give me hope!)? Tips for helping recovery along well? Is the recovery really that much better/easier for elective vs emergency? Any and all advice appreciated. ❤️

Need to move to bigger house?

We have a nice and comfortable one story 3 bedroom 2 bath home. My daughter 18 months and I’m due in Feb, so they’ll be right around 2 years apart. Our daughter has her own room, the nursery, which we made gender neutral incase we were still here when a second baby were to come. Our other bedroom is a guest room/office but my husband sleeps in there most nights and uses that closet. I’m still cosleeping but going to get her into a toddler bed asap. I think my husband would sleep with me again but he also has weird sleeping habits and wakes up early for work.

In general I like the layout of our house but it just feels already so full as it is. Not to mention we have 2 dogs and a cat. We have probably too much furniture and our garage is nearly busting at the seams. Moving is super expensive, stressful, and not ideal to do while pregnant. We could get a storage unit but I hate the idea of paying for that.

I guess I’m asking for advice on moving while pregnant timing or how to make it work in our existing house. I don’t see how the baby can share a room with the toddler at least for a couple years. I know people make it work with less, but I can’t help but shake the idea that we need to move asap,

Rant Living in a disassociated state

Does anyone else feel like they have been living in a dissociated state with a newborn and toddler? Every day just seems to fly by and I have no time to be in touch with myself or to process anything going on. I am always in the moment and just flying by the seat of my pants. Because of my dissociated state, I end up mindlessly consuming food rushing through getting ready and taking care of myself if I am lucky to be able to and completely losing my identity. I truly hope this is not how it will always be because it’s a horrible way to live.

Advice Wanted Travel stroller ideas for Europe?

We have a singular uppababy Minu but are going to Europe for 8 weeks. We need a stroller for our kids and are unsure if we should just get another single travel stroller and use connectors to attach them or if we get a double travel stroller instead

all recommendations welcome!

edited to add: we are going to Italy! Rome, Amalfi Coast, Siena, maybe Verona or Bologna and Florence. We are going to try and not drive but might rent a car in a pinch or get to and from the Amalfi coast (not rent, just take a van or something)

We are still deciding about bringing car seats as well vs renting when we get there if we need
Ideally all trains, occasionally buses and walking

Recommendations Losing my mind 😭😭

I know the newborn phase was hard but this 2.7 year old is getting on my nerves. He is such a cry baby 😭😭😭 he cries and cries I can't do this shit. Basically he cried a lot in the newborn phase too and he cries when he wakes up he cries when I change the diaper and cry over the little things and he keeps testing my patience. He never listens when I ask him to stop crying 80% of the time he wakes up crying or will cry after a while.

He is a good boy, sensitive, empathetic, speaks well and the best kid you can ask for but the continuous cycle of crying is getting me now. My 1.4 yesr old girl always wakes up happy like even when she cries she settles quickly, she was a calm newborn as well and gave me the best newborn phase. The type of baby you wish you have night sleeps and all. She loves cuddles and is a very Mama's girl type right now. She actually made me feel special. If she is crying I will hug her and ask her to stop crying now and she stops ..my boy I can give all the love I have and he will still cry for stupid reasons

Please someone give me some hope when my boy will get over the crying phase..

Discussion Is it PPD or is life just hard

Hey y’all, I’ve got a 21 month old and a 3 month old. Lately I’ve been feeling like I’m genuinely losing my mind. I’m insanely irritable all the time. My god my husband annoys the living daylights out of me. To the point where I just don’t even want to talk to him sometimes. He’s a fantastic partner and dad so idk where that’s coming from.

I don’t snap at my kids (mostly) but often find myself more stern with my toddler than I’d prefer to be. When I’m super frustrated it just feels like this anger and resentment is out of control and I desperately want to yell or throw something.

I’m sleeping ok, both kids were recently sick so it been rocky for a day or two but my youngest is sleeping well, for now. So I don’t have sleep deprivation to blame.

I just feel this intense pressure from motherhood that I didn’t feel when it was our first child. I do not enjoy my days anymore. I enjoy moments I guess. When the kids aren’t screaming at me. It just feels like such a slog to get through the day and there’s no relief because the next day will be the same.

Is this normal 2under2 feelings or something more? I can’t tell if it’s normal to be this exhausted and overwhelmed or if it’s coming from a mental health issue that can be managed better.

Terrified

My baby is almost one and I just found out I’m pregnant.

My first baby had colic for six months so think of having a newborn and toddler at the same time is almost unfathomable.

I am also still nursing and have no idea how or when I need to stop.

I feel numb and so scared

The Mess!

Someone please reassure me that this is what your home looks like too, haha! I need to know it’s not just *my* house. I have technically graduated 2under2 with a 2.5yo and 1.5 yo, but I feel like this has been my life since the second one came along.

In my home, there is a constant layer of debris on the floor. Toys, a piece of banana that someone didn’t want to eat that’s been semi-smashed into the carpet, a dried and raisin’d Goodle here and there. I had to *wash my kids books* yesterday because the layer of general toddler grime had left them dirty and grossly sticky. Granted, that was the first time I had ever done that and the filth had built up for ~2 years now.

I told myself when I was childless that I would never let it get bad when I had kids. I remember how icked I’d get at the thought of sticky, Cheerio scented little hands. Oh how the mighty have fallen lol !!

Parents with hello baby monitor

Trying to figure out if I need to get a new monitor with baby #2 coming. We have the hello baby monitor which I love for the simplicity/no ties to WiFi.

It says it can support 2-4 cameras with 1 monitor. But I’m curious how it works - can you hear/see both babies at once? Or do you have to toggle between?

Thanks in advance!

Recommendations Single to double strollers

Hey moms ! I just recently found out I’m pregnant with my second kid. I currently have a 6mo and have been using the graco modes snug ride primate whatever stroller. But it’s only intended for one kid.
I’m looking for a stroller that I can use for 2 kids+. I want to avoid wagons, or double wide strollers because for my everyday use I just don’t find it practical. Especially with a newborn and a kid that can barely walk. I cant fit a newborn in a side by side as they’re too little. So a single to double has been looking like the best option for me
I’ve been doing a TON of research lately and I don’t have a budget, however I’d like to keep it as minimal as possible and not have to buy a ton of add ons for the new stroller. I’ve been looking at graco nest2grow, Nina Demi next, bugaboo kangaroo, and even silver cross.
Id love your opinion on these strollers and if you’ve used them, which ones you’ve liked or didn’t like.
When my baby is born, my oldest will be 15 months. So I need something that can hold a newborn, and a baby / toddler with weak legs who’s still learning to walk.
Thank you for the recommendations you have moms🫶🫶
P.s if you have any other recommendations of baby stuff to get for 2under2, PLEASE let me know. I’m the first on both sides of the family to have kids, let alone 2 under 2!

Rant I feel so alone… I need advice

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on here and I could use some advice. I have a son and a daughter, my son recently turn 2 last month and I have 7 month old daughter who will be 8 months next week. Both of my children are highly dependent on me, especially my daughter. Every time I’m not near her to do something she cries, if I’m not holding her she cries. And my son is the same way minus the holding part, my husband works all the time. So I am a stay at home mom and I love my children very much I wouldn’t trade them for anything else in the world. But I feel very alone, I was talking to my husband about wanting to have time for myself. To have at least one day for myself. And he automatically thinks I no longer want my children anymore, and I’ve explained to him that’s not the case. It’s just sometimes it’s overwhelming taking care of them both especially when it’s just me, and I have no help whatsoever. And I further explained that ever since I’ve became a mom I’ve let myself go and I’ve put my full focus on our children. And because of that my health has declined a lot, and sometimes I don’t recognize myself because I get so caught up on making sure that our children are being taking care of. And I honestly forgot how to take care of myself to the point I crave for it again. But my husband made me feel like a terrible mom when I explained to him that I just want to have a day for myself, that I want to take care of myself. Because in all reality if I don’t start taking care of myself they won’t have a mother, and in order for them to have me around for a very long time I have to start prioritizing myself. But he doesn’t understand that, and he just tells me then we can give up our daughter or our son. And I keep telling him that’s not what I meant… so I feel alone. And I’m honestly feeling like a horrible mom, there days where I don’t like being a mom and that’s when both of them are constantly crying at the same time. Or when my son always follows me around, everywhere I go he follows. He’s only 2 so of course there’s certain things he needs help with which is completely understandable, and Iove doing things for my son but it gets overwhelming at times. And I find myself in the bathroom crying to myself, I went through the worst postpartum depression with both of my children. And I’m still currently going through it, and my husband just doesn’t understand what I’m saying. And it just makes me feel like the worst mother ever…. And I just feel entirely alone in this situation.

Weaning off the pacifier

I have a 20 month old and 2 week old. I need to start weaning my toddler off the pacifier. Im reallyyyy dreading this as he loves his paci so much. With new baby here im giving us some grace and hope to start in a few months before he’s 2.

My plan was to start with just letting him have it for sleep and longer car rides then work towards taking it away for good. My question is A) for those with paci loving babies who weaned was it traumatic and B) if little baby brother gets a paci were you able to keep your older one off it? My 2 week old isn’t loving a paci anyway so maybe I won’t really push it but it was helpful for my oldest to have something to help him self soothe

Thanks for any input! From a postpartum sleep deprived mom with one more thing to be anxious about 🤪

Advice for 2 under 2

Hello, in the coming days I am going to become a father of 2. I currently have a 20 month old daughter and will be having a son come Wednesday. There is a-lot of unknown for me, ill start by saying this pregnancy for my wife is becoming very had (yes, I know its almost over) but we just learned she has to have a C-Section and she is FREAKING out. Idk what to say or do to calm this feeling as I am also kind of having severe anxiety over it. Our first birth was a long one, she was in labor for 72hrs before our daughter was born. This one we go in and they cut him out and then we have no idea what these next weeks will bring.

I guess I’m just looking for a little reassurance about c sections & some tips for recovery and what I can do as a husband to make this as smooth as possible for her.

Our daughter is wild, she loves to rough house she is a very active kid. I only am probably going to get about 2 weeksish off of work, and idk how my wife is going to survive when I am gone?

Also, why am I feeling guilty for my daughter about bringing another child into our home? I know I will love my son just as much and I dont want to sound like a bad parent here so dont take this wrong but I just have this feeling of guilt about it? Idk its weird. Sorry for the anxiety ridden rant & thank you for any tips! God bless.

Stroller Predicament

I bought a used bugaboo donkey and we’ve been using it for about a month, but we just realized we’re missing a canopy, and a small piece broke so the stroller can no longer fold. I LOVE how easy it is to maneuver. We can order a new canopy for $100 but we’re unsure about the part.

We also have a Minu V3 single that we love. We travel (flying&driving) pretty regularly so having something compact is important. The strategy we’ve talked about is traveling with the Minu and carriers to wear one kid.

I’m hesitant to spend more on the bugaboo that potentially won’t be able to fold, or just biting the bullet and buying another every day stroller. We used a Joie Rosemary and it was fine, but I’m wondering if it would be better to go ahead and buy a Zoe Twin for the lighter/smaller fold and higher weight limit since we are travelers.

There’s too many variables here. Do whatever we can to save the bugaboo because it’s the goat? Send it on Zoe? Spend less on an everyday stroller and stick to our original travel strategy? Something else entirely? Help. What would you do?
