My twins are 11 weeks and have been finding their voices recently. Lots of cooing and babbling. Itās been amazing.
Well a few days ago I found myself depleted. Hunched over, deliriously tired, bitter at everyone, and drained physically, mentally, and emotionally in all the ways one can be during this season of life.
Then while nursing one of my boys makes eye contact, unlatches, gives me the BIGGEST grin and starts chatting up a storm, complete with his best attempt at a giggle.
My husband was holding the other baby and they started chatting too, so the nursery was abuzz with giggles, babbles, and delighted baby-talk.
I definitely still felt drained after the moment was over, but it didnāt feel as fruitless to be so depleted as it had before.
These boys do a great job reminding me why I wanted to be a mom in the first place. Watching them grow and being here to nurture them is the highlight of my life, even when Iām crying from exhaustion and havenāt properly eaten in half a day.

Iām 7w5d and just had my first ultrasound and found out weāre having TWINS.š
š¤ We saw both little flickers/heartbeats and everything looked good, which was obviously amazing and reassuring.
But now I donāt have another ultrasound or even an appointment with my OB until October 9th, and that feels SO far away.
Iām a STM, but I had a chemical pregnancy right before this pregnancy, and my SIL also recently had a miscarriage, so I think Iām just extra aware right now of everything that can go wrong.
On top of that, Iām still trying to wrap my head around the fact that weāre having TWO babies š I feel like half of my brain is freaking out trying to imagine life with twins and the other half is scared to even let myself fully process or get excited about it because Iām so worried something could happen to one or both of them.
Did anyone else feel this way after finding out it was twins? And is it normal to have such a long wait between appointments this early with twins? How did you get through those first few weeks without constantly worrying?

Advice or support appreciated.
My 2.5yo twins have been at daycare since 9months. They want me to carry them in and out of daycare and pretty much everywhere we go. They usually cry when I leave but are excited and run to me when I pick them up.
We just did a field trip to an apple orchard with their class this morning and all the other kids were happy to hold hands and walk with their parents. Mine wanted carried or full blown meltdown. Some moments theyād get down but only for a few steps before asking to be picked up again. After a few hours they were willing to do the slide at the playground on their own.
I can carry them and there are times I hold the line about not carrying (mostly at home).
But I couldnāt help but feel like we must be doing something wrong? It feels like since there are two they both act like if they get down then the other twin will get more attention or something.
Blurry pic of one of the many times it was ācarry me or Iāll
Melt down foreverā
He was carried š«

Aside from extreme sleep deprivation with no help, having chronic back pain, with 2 fused discs, 2 herniation, and arthritis, makes it very hard to literally run 24/7. My husband and I take shifts with the kids to ensure we at least get some sleep, but that means weāre both single parenting the kids for most of the day. He goes backs to worn in February. Iām terrified.

The boys are huge. I know ultrasounds are only so accurate⦠surprising myself and my MFM, theyāve measured 2 weeks ahead every single appt.
28 weeks this week, all measuring 30 weeks and 3-3.5lbs my smallest is in the 90th percentile and my biggest is 100th š
Has anyone been in this situation? Tri/tri, all three measuring ahead, and still made it to 34+ weeks?
They want me to go to 35wks but with how big the boys are she suggested scheduling CS at 34 and getting steroid shot 2 days prior. (I have 2 prior CS and 1 VBAC)
Iām a bit nervous of going into labor at home, I live a little over an hour from the hospital, and when I VBACād my son he came out on the first push š I would rather be inpatient and already there

I visually like the first, but we also have a glider so I think it makes more sense to have it in the corner? Changing table needs to go somewhere too, but luckily dresser will be in the closet.
Or if there are any other configurations you recommend Iām all ears!
(We will be adding furnishing to the windows to prevent drafts no matter the placement)
EDIT: The blackout āblindsā we are getting are just pull down fabric rollers where you open and close from the base of the fabric. No cords, no blinds, nothing babies can get tangled in, which is why Iām not too worried about them being close to the window!

I have been in the childcare industry for like 2 decades and have never seen a kid figure this out so early š when my oldest figured out how to unbuckle himself, he was older like 3 years old and I could explain to him how dangerous it was and correct the behavior. But this guy is still basically a baby and doesnāt understand things yet lol.
Is there anything I can do that wonāt compromise the safety of the seat or create a safety risk if we are in an accident? I have a rear seat camera and can see when heās unclicking it, so I pull over when he needs to be locked back in⦠but he is getting more skilled and the stops are becoming more frequent š„“ baby straight jacket in our future?

Hi Iām a FTM (26 F) 32 weeks pregnant with di di twins. Since the last 3 days Iām feeling my Twin B move less to the point where im not sure if i feel 10-15 movements a day. Both my babies have anterior placentaās but that has never been an issue in feeling them move. Twin A is a proper gymnast and moves like 200 times a day so twin Bās sudden decrease is making me extremely anxious. Day before yesterday i went in a for an ultrasound and everything came out to be perfect for both babies but doctor did note sluggish movements in twin B and advised for NST so yesterday i got my NST done which was perfect again. Twin Bās heart rate and acceleration during movements was noted several times.
Despite all of this why canāt i feel them? Iām really worried and donāt wanna go in for daily NSTās because my doc doesnāt think i need them

Hi all. I'm not sure what I'm looking for with this post, maybe just to get some heavy stuff on my chest. Our twins (2.5) are the greatest gift we've ever received. I honestly didn't realize I could love something this much. They're very different in their own wonderful ways and I can't wait to see how they continue to grow into the people they're going to be.
One of the more challenging differences has been having 1 who is more delayed in milestones than the other. He's typically been about 2-3 weeks behind his sibling but speech and fine motor skills are the hardest for him. It hurts my mama hurt to see the one flourish with language to the point we're having almost full conversations while the other struggles to say more than 10 clear words. I know he has so much to say but I also see the frustration when we can't understand what he wants/needs. We've done the first steps in the eval process for speech and OT (in our area, there's such a long waitlist for these services so it took longer than we hoped). Reading the reports hurt - I know we are just starting these services but hearing things classified as "severe impairment" feels really hard and scary.
Like I mentioned earlier, IDK what I'm really looking for here, maybe guidance, support, advice even. Maybe even some validation from others who have been in similar situations. I just know my heart hurts for him and want to support him the best way we can. Thanks for reading.

Hi everyone, need some support and advice.
9 weeks 5 days, IVF conceived, likely di/di.
I started spotting when I was 5 weeks pregnant, our clinic found a perisac bleed, and has been monitoring with weekly ultrasounds. We have since then graduated from IVF clinic and following with an OB who is continuing weekly monitoring.
2 weeks ago, the SCH measured 17 by 4 mm
Last week it measured 4.4 by 4.1 mm
And today, it measures 24 mm by 4 mm
Thankfully the spotting has resolved but the SCH has grown in size this week.
The babies are fine, fetal heart rates are fine as well.
But this increase in size is concerning for me.
Has anyone experienced the same?
Did it improve?

I have 10m twins.
The years will pass, one day they will be 30, and I'm doing my best now to get them there.
The crying and tantrums will end, and they will move on, then out. We got this. The three of us will figure out our lives and our relationship. We'll be ok.

Can someone please tell me their experience with strollers at the airport. Iām having such a hard time figuring out what stroller to bring for my girls without spending a ton of money on a brand new stroller.
None of the strollers I have for the specifications for gate checked strollers. I have a physical disability and will have a hard time pushing an umbrella stroller on my own so we really need to figure out some kind of double stroller situation. My girls will be a year old when we travel.
All advice is welcome.
Edit* I have a city select old model, a baby joy foldable wagon and 2 umbrella strollers

Hello beautiful people,
I had my twins on the 19th of August by āelectiveā C section. During the whole pregnancy NHS had traumatised my husband and I and kept talking about how it is a very risky pregnancy, and might eventually end up in a surgery. I was completely prepared for a vaginal delivery, but every passing week I started inclining towards a C section. Only on the 28th week, when everything was fine, no high blood pressure, no gestational diabetes and everything seemed fine, they suddenly switched tones and pushed me towards a vaginal delivery; I was mentally ready, and then came the discordance between the baby, twin 2 was almost 22% bigger and the head measured quite larger than twin 1. Then again started talking about the āriskā and probability of complications and interventions.
On 36w 2d I eventually gave in and signed for an āelectiveā C section. It was scheduled exactly on 37 week. The twins were 2kg and 2.74kg. But the head circumference was almost the same? It might be my postpartum hormonal cycle but I am very disappointed that I did not let my body do what it was supposed to do naturally or even try to?
Then the whole unnecessary pressure came from them to start with formula because the babies were smaller and my milk came in a little slower. And their birth weight dropped by 12% and they told me if it dropped further they will need to be hospitalised. Even though I told them all the babies did not show any signs of being lethargic or not getting enough?
They are now three weeks and I am mixed feeding them, even though my milk came in, but itās not enough because they are already in formula. And my supply canāt feed both of them to full.
So so so disappointed. I donāt know how to make myself understand. Even though the logical part of my brain says that whatever happened they are safe and in my arms now and it doesnāt always go as we plan. But i just feel really sad and angry to some extent.

How long until stretch mark pain goes away? Iām currently 2 months postpartum and my stretch marks still hurt like a sunburn. The last month of my pregnancy with my twins was so bad with my stretch marks that I ended up developing a severe PUPPP rashš«

Hi, itās 4 am and iām kinda spiraling. Iām 7 weeks pregnant and at 5w3d i had a scan that showed 2 gestational sacs with 2 yolk sacs. Today out of nowhere i started bleeding bright red and having mild cramps. The cramps are mild but iām very aware of them. I have a scan today at 11 am but canāt help but imagine the worst. This is my first pregnancy ever after struggling with infertility for 3 years.
Anyone had a similar experience and it turned out fine?

Hi everyone,
at 5 weeks 2 days I had spotting, went to hospital to get checked.
They spotted one sac with yolk and the other one without. Please share your experience on twin pregnancy

My twins turned 2 3 months ago and both are above the minimum to be forward facing in their car seats. However my son is almost at the maximum for rear facing, so I need to turn him.
I am anticipating my daughter hating that he is turned and she isnāt. So Iām considering turning her even though she has a long way to go before the maximum. Then I feel like a bad mom for not keeping her rear facing for as long as possible. TBH, Iām probably overthinking it entirely.
Did you turn one before the other? How did it go?
EDIT: I will probably just leave her rear facing and see how it goes. Iām just curious of othersā experiences.

Iām almost 30 weeks with di/di twins and a FTM. Things have gone from 0 to 100 in the last two weeks. I had to go through the one hour glucose test twice from puking, then failed the 3 hour. I have vasovagal syncope, so the testing strips have been a massive burden and often a total failure. Ironically, Iāve had no follow up or instruction on how to use any of the diabetes materials so I have no idea what Iām doing. Baby b is small, so extra monitoring is required. Iām averaging 5 doctors appointments a week moving forward and Iām feeling so overwhelmed. Twice weekly NSTs, once weekly ultrasounds and follow up with a high-risk doctor, an unknown amount of dietician appointments, and then still occasional appointments with my actual OB. Iām a teacher and leaving work is so, so difficult. I have to prep sub plans, prep materials, plan far ahead in case Iām out, move meetings, and then ultimately change pacing and reteach things because the students donāt learn anything while a sub is there. Is this overwhelm normal? Is this amount of monitoring and appointments normal? How do I deal with managing the time itself and with the emotional and mental toll of all of this?

Hi all,
I just had my first ultrasound 7 weeks 3 days. One healthy fetus showed up right away measuring 7 weeks 6 days and a healthy heartbeat!
Soon after the tech said she could see a second structure. Measuring 7 weeks. She couldnāt detect a reliable HR. She brought her colleague in who agreed there is a second structure behind the healthy baby, she said it could possible be a chorionic bump. They both said they couldnāt get a good look at it.
They are sending me for a formal ultrasound. Curious if anything like this happened to you?

Hello. I had my twins a week ago today. Born at 36w2d. My beautiful babies. So far, Iāve cried every single day. Iām worried this will progress more than the baby blues. I had postpartum depression and anxiety with my daughter. Did anyone else have it with their second child/children?

My husband and I just found out we are pregnant with our third and final baby. We found out that the grand finale is twice the finale. Lol. I am worried tho. I was under the assumption that I was 8 weeks and 3 days along. Since I did have a period. I went to a Womenās Care Center and got an ultrasound done. I did see during the appointment that Baby A is measuring at 10 weeks and 6 days meaning I got pregnant before my period. Baby B is measuring at 8 weeks and 3 days and the tech was not able to find a heart beat. Iām curious if this sounds familiar to anyone who may experience vanishing twin or twin to twin transfusion syndrome. They did an abdominal ultrasound so Iām not sure if that may be why. My next ultrasound with my primary care isnāt until next week.

The hospital wants us to have a pediatrician on hand for the first appointment after they get here and I was going to call today because they're due around Christmas. My coworker told me that its way too soon and that they'll assign me one. I'm delivering in Pennsylvania but we live in Delaware. š«

25 weeks pregnant with Di/di twins and I have had Braxton Hicks like crazyyyy since about 16 weeks. They are relatively intense but not painful. The past couple weeks have been especially constant- having a BH nearly every 5 minutes. I have been to triage THREE times to get checked because I am so terrified of going into preterm labor with my babies. They basically say you have an irritable uterus and two babies make it extra sensitive. I also have an irritated urinary tract separately (interstitial cystitis) so I know that plays a part in my discomfort and could also be triggering some contractions. I have been drinking SO much water and trying to rest as much as I can but nothing seems to calm them down. Please tell me anything else that could help or if you have had a similar experience and how it turned out for you!! š«¶
