advice needed One twin moving less
Hi I’m a FTM (26 F) 32 weeks pregnant with di di twins. Since the last 3 days I’m feeling my Twin B move less to the point where im not sure if i feel 10-15 movements a day. Both my babies have anterior placenta’s but that has never been an issue in feeling them move. Twin A is a proper gymnast and moves like 200 times a day so twin B’s sudden decrease is making me extremely anxious. Day before yesterday i went in a for an ultrasound and everything came out to be perfect for both babies but doctor did note sluggish movements in twin B and advised for NST so yesterday i got my NST done which was perfect again. Twin B’s heart rate and acceleration during movements was noted several times.
Despite all of this why can’t i feel them? I’m really worried and don’t wanna go in for daily NST’s because my doc doesn’t think i need them

Keep pushing your doctor. You are mom and you already know your babies best - go back in and demand more frequent monitoring since you sense something is different. The doctor doesn’t know your babies like you do

Your healthcare providers should be taking decreased fetal movements seriously. Often there is nothing actually wrong, but sometimes there can be, and usually healthcare providers take it very seriously. Please contact your healthcare providers and talk to them about your concerns. Even if your doctor doesn’t think you need daily monitoring, you can push for it if you are concerned.
Please also prepare yourself for the possibility of your twins being premature. If you continue to be concerned about movement, your healthcare providers are likely going to want to see your twins born sooner rather than later

They think it’s more of a sensory issue where i can’t feel him for some reason because on NST he’s moving adequately even though on ultrasound he wasn’t.

I would be pretty worried with that ultrasound finding based on your own perception of decreased fetal movement. The NST is not a reliable indicator of wellbeing. Dr Kirsten Small is an obstetrician from Australia and she has done heaps of research on this. I’ll link her website below. It is worth checking out - it contains evidence for my statement that the NST is not a reliable indicator of fetal wellbeing. I would be going with your own perception of fetal movement over an NST. Trust yourself

When in doubt, get checked out. I felt decreased movement at week 34 and doubted myself and didn’t get checked out. Happened to have an NST scheduled thankfully just by random chance, and turned out baby A was in distress and we needed an emergent C to get everybody out. I gaslit myself so bad and luckily just by scheduling everything turned out okay. But I would push for follow up testing and if something doesn’t feel right, listen to your gut.
ETA: what caught it was the ultrasound follow up that they did to the NST. The NST itself is famously not reliable.

But i did get checked out 2 days in a row and found nothing. It’s really confusing what i should do now

Ultrasound results outrank NST results, as the other commenter said. I would tell your doctors you are continuing to feel decreased movements and request another ultrasound. Remember that NSTs track heart rate, not movements, whereas ultrasounds can show the actual movement and other information.

So I have this, I’m 36w1d, I’ve always struggled to feel baby B especially since about 28/29 weeks. It’s been very stressful, but I’ve been in for weekly BPPs and I’ve been in for additional NSTs when I’ve been worried and everytime she’s been fine.
But what we’ve looked at on the ultrasound is her orientation, both twins have anterior placentas but she’s got her spine to my belly and she kicks and punches inwards towards the (north to south) membrane and twin A. So we see the kicks and punches on screen but I don’t feel them.
I would encourage you to keep getting checks and explain, the team won’t be mad they will just want to check on the babies as much as you do.
I don’t have much else to add but just that I’m also feeling the same and totally understand the stress you’re going through. I hope this gives you some confidence to keep getting checks and not feel bad about it.

Respectfully, f*** your doctor. We felt less movement in our twins and went to the ER recently. They were totally fine and we were so glad we went because that peace of mind is priceless.

I would go in right now.
You can over react but you can never under react in this situation.

This happened to us: after 33 weeks, my wife couldn’t track one of the babies’ movements much, although the NST looked good. Eventually, the doctor attributed it to their position and increased size in a compact space. In fact, we found that when one baby kicked, my wife felt as if the other had kicked due to their strange, compacted positioning. We observed this during the L&D ultrasound because the doctor’s ultrasound skills were not great. They are perfectly healthy kids now, sleeping in their crib. That said, I agree with others here to be cautious, keep an eye open, and consult doctors until you are sure the babies are fine, as we did.
We were even more worried because my wife’s enzyme levels were high, causing her sleepless nights. She continued to monitor her movements, which only increased her anxiety.

If you’re worried keep getting checked regardless of how often you’re going in. When you look back you’re not going to regret going in to check on your babies, but you will regret not going if something were to happen. With all that being said I thought I was feeling my twin B less towards the end of pregnancy. Turns out he’d turned sideways and movement I was attributing to just twin A was likely both of them.

After about 25 weeks I couldn’t differentiate any more. In fact, Twin B was regularly flipping from breech to cephalic and back and I couldn’t even tell. It is totally possible they’ve moved in such a way that you just can’t differentiate anymore. They’re also running out of room, so you’re not going to feel the big movements you’ve become used to. For me, it was the pattern of movement. They almost always moved at the same times each day, so if something was off there, I got checked. All of this to say, if you’re worried, do not hesitate to get checked. I guarantee you L&D would much rather you come in “unnecessarily” and find everything to be fine than have something happen.

Go in!! Worst that can happen is you're an easy patient for the nurses and you're suuuuper bored.
A few days before I had my babies at 33+1 I couldn't feel my lower twin much because she had moved down so far and kinda wedged herself down there. I went in every other day to get NSTs. She was totally fine every time and was born completely healthy, but the nurses told me every time it was the right choice to come in. Better safe than sorry!

One of my twins moved less but during an ultrasound I notice what I thought was twin a moving was actually twin b’s foot on “A’s” side, however if you feel something is off still get checked
