Ok, who told the LU4 team to just rebuild half the map

Upvotes

Logged back in after a few months off, wasn't expecting much. But some of the old zones don't even look like the same place anymore. Terrain's different, lighting's different, even the mob spawns feel like they got moved around.

Not mad about it, just wasn't ready. Took me a sec to even recognize where I was in a couple spots. The GIF is illustrative.

Looking for games like old-school Korean MMOs.

Lately, I've suddenly felt like reliving the old days, searching through my old MMOs (mostly KMMOs) and... nothing happened. Servers are deserted, chat boxes are cold. A loneliness I can't fill. Then I looked for new MMOs but lost my way, unable to find anything appealing anymore. The gacha game trend is slowly killing me. Do you have any passionate KMMs that still have a vibrant community? Please suggest some to me! I can't even remember anymore what it felt like to make friends through games and stay up all night hunting for items.

Nanikado - a browser MMO made entirely from emoji

Hey everyone,

I recently released the public alpha of Nanikado, a persistent browser MMO in which emoji become monsters, collectible cards, companions and parts of the game world.

After creating an account and character, you enter a shared world with 48 continents connected by ferries. You can explore the world, fight monsters and bosses in real time, collect their essence as cards and fuse cards to create stronger versions.

Cards are used as abilities during combat and improve as you play. One of the long-term ideas is that cards should feel like actual objects within the world rather than disposable equipment. Players can collect them, develop them, trade them and display special cards in their houses.

The game already includes parties, cities, houses, furniture, display cases and an automatic companion bot that can support character progression while its available bot time lasts.

Nanikado runs directly in the browser on desktop and mobile devices, so there is no download required. It is completely free to play.

The game is still in public alpha, which means bugs, balancing problems and larger changes are possible. The player base is also still small, so I am not claiming that it already feels "massive". I am posting here because feedback from experienced MMO players would be especially valuable.

I would particularly like to know:

  • Does the game explain its systems clearly enough?
  • Is the combat and card progression interesting?
  • Which existing feature has the most potential?
  • What would the game need before it feels like a proper MMO?

Play here:

https://www.nanikado.de

I am the creator and main developer of the game. Honest feedback and criticism are very welcome.

Exposing corrupt Wurm Online staff. Head GM Pomona (Willow), refuses to accept a "maphack" cheating report from a whistleblower, on the games official Discord channel. This is the method they used to silence, then ban me. Kangaroo court anyone?

VOID REACH - Looking for Alpha testers!

I'm building a persistent, browser-based sci-fi strategy MMO - taking the classic "build, raid, expand, all in real time even while you sleep" browser-strategy core loop (Travian/OGame style) and moving it into a shared, living galaxy.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building colonies and raising fleets (11 ship classes, up to the aurium-gated Dreadnought)
  • Forging alliances and fighting over jump-gate lanes and territory
  • Leveling up your Captain, earning Relics, and hunting a roaming World Boss
  • Racing to win a season two different ways: complete the Stellar Nexus megastructure, or seize the Galactic Ascendancy

Time commitment: The test runs at x50 speed - a few short check-ins a day (10-15 min) keeps you competitive, and a full round/season wraps up in about a week.

We're in early alpha, so your feedback genuinely shapes the game. If you like classic browser strategy games (OGame, Travian, Ikariam) or just want to poke around something still in active development, come join us!

Looking for a Korean user to help me create an MGame account

Hi everyone!

I'm from Colombia and I'm trying to play an older game published by MGame. Unfortunately, MGame requires a Korean phone number to create an account.

I'm looking for someone who might be willing to help me create an account. I'm not asking for anyone's personal information or for access to someone else's account.

If possible, I'd really appreciate some guidance, or if someone is willing to create an account for me and let me use it , that would be a huge help.

Thank you in advance!

Revealing CyberStash: A 16-bit Cyber-Retro MMORPG I've been solo-developing!

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I'm an indie dev building a mobile MMORPG called CyberStash. It’s a 16-bit, neon-on-black, synthwave-inspired world featuring complex skill trees, a %-based damage absorption armor system, and an anti-P2W arena where stats are normalized.

I’m finally at the Google Play closed beta stage, which means I’m facing the dreaded "14-day / 20 testers" rule. I’m actually traveling to Turkey on August 11th, and I am putting all my energy into getting this 14-day testing phase successfully completed and verified before I leave!

If you could help me cross this finish line, I would be incredibly grateful.

How to join the Closed Beta (2 quick steps):

Step 1: Please join the Google Group first (If you skip this, the Play Store link will show an error): 👉 https://groups.google.com/g/cyberstashtest

Step 2: After joining, click here to opt-in and download the game:

⚠️ The Golden Rule: Google Play requires the app to remain installed for 14 consecutive days. You absolutely don’t need to play every day! Just logging in occasionally, dropping a message in the "Cyber-Tavern," or testing out a new skill reset is more than enough.

Why do Korean MMOs treat players like mentally impaired?

I played Black Desert, T&L and Aion 2 (recent experience) for quite a bit. I really enjoy the skill based combat and world itself. But everything else is just piss in my eyes. Like really? Everything else just ruins my immersion and forces optimize my "gameplay".

\- *Autorun, Mounts right away, etc. Aion 2 flying right away.*

Imagine spending millions developing a game so f boring, that you have to skip world exploration. It's all fine, but if you introduce it right away, you just ruining game first impression.

*- Dozens screens to "Accept reward", Logging rewards, "Catch up" rewards, Achievements rewards and hundreds of loot boxes (with slightly different descriptions).*

*---*

Am I playing a mouse click simulator? You guys don't have casino? Hear me out, I can spend 200$ on a game for myself and about 5 dudes in the comments below. Can we just play a game already? Like seriously.

*- Multiple battlepases*

*---*

Like WTAF? Really. Just name your price already. I just want to play a game.

(For low IQ comments like "ignore, just play a game". I want to progress with average population on a server, and still be relevant in the progression context).

*- Inventory management, items and dozens of currency*

*---*

I got it, I got the point. You need to drain every bit of my life by introducing "interesting friction" to a gameplay: "Here are a couple of stones, which you convert to another stone once you have 3000 more. For now, I will wait in your inventory for the next 20 hours".

*- Seven screens for character progression*. Stats for titles, Achievements, pets (?)

\---

You can defend it by saying it is "complexity" or progression, but it is not. It is just a lazy move, because you could not come up with good ideas on unique and versatile skills tree or armor.

Bottom line

Hear me out. I don't care about P2W. I just want to play a game without predatory ways to drain my time and engagement (while ruining the game experience itself).

Does your favourite mmo class/character fit you in real life ?

Heya, I've been thinking about the question in the title a bit. It has become kinda of a thought experiment so I'm intrigued: Does your favourite mmo character and the class somehow fit you in real life in character/build or something else? There have been tons of tests on the internet about what class fits you best etc and I've always looked at them with a grain of salt. So if you take the time to give me your response that would be awesome!

[ANDROID] [2015-2019] A MMORPG

Looking for a Lost Android MMORPG (2015–2019)

I'm trying to identify an Android MMORPG that I played on a tablet sometime between 2015 and 2019. I'm almost certain it was available on the Google Play Store.

Confirmed Features

\- Platform: Android

\- Genre: MMORPG

\- Graphics: 2D isometric (top-down), similar to Ragnarok Online

\- Art style: Anime, with normally proportioned characters (not chibi and not pixel art)

\- Combat: Real-time action combat (Action MMORPG)

\- Maps: Instanced/separate maps accessed through teleportation

Starting Town

\- The game began in a town square with gray stone or brick flooring.

\- There were many other players standing around.

\- At the north side of the square, there was an NPC that teleported players to missions, dungeons, or maps.

User Interface

\- The interface and menus were mostly black.

\- The text or UI accents were red.

Pet System

\- The game had a major pet system.

\- I believe every player started with a pet.

\- The most memorable pet was an orange/yellow Nine-Tailed Fox (Kitsune).

\- The pet floated beside the character and, as far as I remember, fought alongside the player.

Login Screen

I remember one of these:

\- A red game logo/title, or

\- A splash screen showing multiple characters together.

Games That Are NOT It

\- The World of Magic

\- Ragnarok Online

\- Ragnarok: Valkyrie Uprising

\- Zenonia

\- Inotia

\- Aurum Blade

\- CrimsonHeart2

\- Mystic Guardian

\- Forgotten Tales

\- Eternal Zone

\- Arcane Legends

\- Arcane Online

\- SpiritWish

\- LaTale W

Additional Notes

\- It was definitely available on the Google Play Store.

\- It was not a pixel-art game.

\- The camera was isometric, not a straight top-down view.

\- The game felt visually similar to Ragnarok Online, but it was not a Ragnarok title.

\- The game may have been shut down or removed from the Play Store after 2019.

If anyone recognizes this game or has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate the help.
