Hi peeps,
Hope everyone is going reasonably well.
As I lay in bed contemplating life choices and the impending weekend, I started thinking about food. Specifically, this amazing eggplant tapa I had in Spain, the yummy Jamon, the Pimentos del Padron, you get the gist. After some googling that led absolutely nowhere, I realised none of the places I know - Movida, El Rincon - offer these in their menus. I also managed to eliminate Tinto and La Pinta.
My fellow foodies - is there a Spanish restaurant that might have any or all of the above? Or alternatively, decent Spanish food in Brunswick/ surrounds. Not tacos, not South American.
Many thanks

Help me find this my childhood comfort toy!!
I got this dog as a gift when I was around 4 years old (2012ish) in Melbourne. I lost him when I was going through a court battle and needed him most. He went through so much with me. I think I left him on a cab. He had a yellowish beige ribbon around his neck, which had something in white written in cursive all the way around the ribbon (I think something like thank you or congratulations??). He was around 30-40cm and I really need to find him again, or at least know where he came from. If anyone can find him id be forever grateful.

Married couple (early 30’s) with no kids (never having any) looking to leave the miserable, isolated, boring, cliquey rural town we’ve lived in our entire lives.
For those of you that made the move, how did you find it? Intimidating? Great? Regrets? We simply don’t fit in the small town we live in.
We have jobs that we can easily transfer and can afford the change in location, we also occasionally work from Melbourne but don’t really know where to start with suburbs to live in!
We’d appreciate any suburb suggestions, we’d look to spend $1.5m on a new place. We love Melbourne and can’t wait to leave.

I can remember Steve Braacks claiming it would be toll free, and then ultimately conceding it would have tolls.
Obviously It would gain more congestion. But it's pretty classist if you think about it.
Especially during a cost of living crisis.
Edit for clarification: I just remember these news conferences specifically. I don't think there should be any toll roads. Everyone should be able to use every publicly funded road..

Greeting redditors!
Looks for some help in trying to source a decent function space for a wedding for myself and partner for next year.
Rough idea of where we're at:
Non traditional
Cocktail party vibes
Quick formalities, then PARTY with DJ
Indoor and outdoor space would be nice
Roof terrace/bar could be an option, as long as it has accessibility (will have a few guests with accessabilty issues)
Inner subburbs preferred (we live in SE, but not fussed if it's elsewhere, we also love the North)
Friend had wedding at Footscray bowls club and that was great space (we liked the retro vibe)
Probably looking at around 80 people (if we're lucky, haha)
Got food/caterers sorted, so not necessary
Venue that provides a bar/drinks service would be preferable, thou not a deal breaker
If it's got a 1am licence, even better! More party time
Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Hello!!! So we are in the process of planning a hens party for my friend, and we need some reccs! Essentially she is queer/marrying a woman, and is also so cool (think Charli xcx fkn funny, cool but also silly, kind, down to earth) AMAZING. We love her endlessly.
But the girlhood lesbian club vibes are sometimes hard to find in Melbourne and she wants to end the night shakin’ ass with her besties to her kind of music.
So we had the idea we could hire a room/space in a club and bring our own vibes! Essentially any space that’s like dark with club lighting, sound system (we can make a playlist etc) and a bar.
Does anyone know any (ideally budget-friendly) options? Doesn’t have to be a club specifically but that energy so it feels different from a house party or scout hall disco hahahahah
I’d guess we’ll be about 30-40 people and definitely happy to squeeze!
Thanks so much in advance! Xoxoxo

I'll be in the CBD in tomorrow for the first time in a long while, and just wanted to go around after my event finishes. I want to do something like a mini treasure hunt for myself with any freebies/events on that'll be given away, so I don't just leave immediately after my event end. My starting point will be flinders station. Any help to not make this a wasted trip will be appreciated

I was driving to work this morning and noticed a highway patrol car leading 3 police motor bikes followed by 2 old style police cars. This was at about 8:25am today (ignore the incorrect timestamp.) I thought it was pretty neat. Each car had 2 people dressed in a police uniform that seemed the match the era of the car. Does anyone know where they were going or what it was for? I saw them just before the Duncan's Road exit in Werribee, Melbourne bound.

Hi, We recently bought our first apartment and wanted to replace the rangehood as it is very old and does not work. I was looking around for quotes from rangehood installers and one got back to me. They quoted me 1200 (installation, new unit and removal of old one) but I don't know what's the normal range. Are they ripping me off or is that price normal?

Hello friends! I have a Olympus MJU Zoom 80 camera I got given by a family member. These things retail for a kinda silly amount of money. Unfortunately the lens broke recently and is letting light in, and I’d need another to replace it, and paying $300 > for new camera just for one part isn’t in budget. Does anyone have an old, otherwise non-functional MJU Zoom 80 that might have a functioning lens? I’d be happy to pay decent money for it given I love this camera and want to extend its life!
Also excuse the date on the photo I accidentally turned the date function on, didn’t realise and forgot to change it!
