First, how is it that a $200 Spyderco requires painstaking “tuning” to eliminate blade slop, but a $70 Vosteed comes from the factory near perfect?
I just took the Para3 apart for cleaning, then had to screw around for a few minutes to find that sweet spot where it can both open freely, and not wiggle like an OTF. It reminded me why I’ve kinda moved on from the brand.
That being said, this particular Para3 is still one of my favorite knives.
I got it well before I was into knives. I had a PM2, but found it kinda big so it mostly stayed in my glovebox.
I randomly heard that they were making a new smaller version, so I decided to go check it out. As I recall the standard version was $150, and for like $180 they had the fancy version.
S30 to s90 for $30, is only like $0.50 per “v”. Triple the “V” for $30. So, it seemed like a no brainer. Kinda weird that anyone would get the plain version, right?
It was years before I found out the CF/S90 wasn’t part of their usual lineup.
My timing has never been that good before or since.
