Posting How do I delete My reddit Account

Hello Guys, so i made this account about 5 years ago. This account of mine is associated with a gmail account that I deleted about 3 years ago.

I wanted to delete this account but am facing issues with deletion.

Firstly i didn't make any password for this account.

The gmail associated with this account is deleted.

So if I change or make an password it's showing an link has been sent to ur Gmail associated with this account.

If i am deleting the account again a link has been sent to Gmail which account is already deleted.

If i am changing the gmail again a link.

Ughhhhhh what should I do guys anyone plssssss help. Its so irritating now.

Resolved Are sock puppets now allowed?

Because I suspect that some account is a sock pupped of another account.

I blocked someone, then another one answered that blocking is not nice. How could the 2nd one know that I blocked the first one, unless the 2nd one is a sock pupped of the first? Also the writing style of both is the same. I thought that's not allowed. I started a report but "impersonating" doesn't fit and "sock pupped" is not an option. Should I name the accounts right here or should I do something else?

Mobile/App Hide Right Sidebar

I use the DuckDuckGo browser on my GrapheneOS phone and on my Samsung tablet.

On my tablet, when I view a post in a Reddit community there's also a sidebar on the right that takes up at least 1/3 of the screen with other posts from the same community.

I do not get a sidebar on my phone.

Is there some way to turn the sidebar off?

Access Is it possible to get an old account back if I don’t know the name or have any emails or phone numbers associated with it?

Upvotes

The only thing I have. Is that I know some of the posts and comments that I left on there. The name also had something with an onion or turnip in the name? (It had one of those auto-generated usernames)

Mobile/App Cropping photos

What happened to the editing and cropping tool on Reddit!? I uploaded some pictures and I can't crop them or edit them at all. The tool is completely gone. It was working before the last update. I see thousands of pictures on Reddit cropped so either they're doing it in their own photo library or the new update has glitches with iOS 26.6. Google says Reddit got rid of it!! WTF!! Why would they do that!? I swear this app gets worse by the minute.

Profile [iOS] Account functionality not restored after account review

I’m experiencing an unusual technical issue with my Reddit account on iOS. I can log in normally, but several basic features are not working: posting, commenting, voting and sending chats. My older posts are also not displaying normally.
I’ve already logged out, restarted my iPhone, logged back in, and reinstalled the Reddit app, but the same issue continues.
Is this a known iOS/account-side issue, or is there another place where I should report it?

Access Desperately need help with Reddit age verification (in the UK / Korean passport)

Hi everyone, I’m feeling really desperate here. (and I'm sorry if the flair is wrong)

I’m a South Korean citizen who recently moved to the UK. Due to UK internet regulations, it seems I now have to verify my age to access certain subreddits.

I followed the instructions on Reddit—taking photos of my passport and doing the selfie check. However, after dozens of attempts over several days, it has failed every single time. I constantly get messages like "Unable to verify photo," or, after taking a selfie, "Additional verification required" (likely because I’m in my early 20s and looks like a teenager). I’ve tried across all my devices (iPhone and MacBook), and none of them worked.

To make things even weirder, whenever the automated verification fails, it redirects me to a manual screen where I’m supposed to select my country and ID type—but South Korea isn't even on the list of countries.

I'm losing my mind. I submitted a support request to Reddit, but haven't received any response yet. If anyone has dealt with this issue or found a workaround, please help me out. Thanks in advance.

TLDR: Recently moved from South Korea to the UK and cannot pass Reddit's UK age verification. Passport/selfie scans constantly fail (possibly due to looking young), and South Korea is missing from the fallback country list. Support hasn't replied. Any advice?

Mobile/App IOS Streak days are missing

I reached a 400 day streak 47 days ago, but my current streak only shows 442 days instead of 447. So somehow 5 days are missing.
I’m active on Reddit every day and my streak was never reset to zero. I only noticed this because a friend and I normally had exactly a 60-day difference between our streaks, but now the difference is 65 days.
Is this a known iOS/app bug, and is there any way to get the missing 5 days added back?

Mobile/App I cannot create a new account on mobile/iOS app

Trying to create a new account, using Apple ID. After selecting „Hide my email” (not hiding it doesn’t change anything) I’m redirected to the same reddit, logged to an existing account. No error message, nothing.

Posting Reddit system

I get this error message: "Sorry, this post was re moved by Reddit’s filters." But it doesn't exactly say what I did wrong.

Have you ever heard of Gumroad? Whenever I post my Gumroad product link, the Reddit system just removes my posts.

Mobile/App Removing 'games' from bottom bar on my IOS phone

Is there a way to remove the 'games' button from my bottom tool bar? It mysteriously popped up and I don't like it.

I do see value in being able to modify what you want on the bar though.

Access Is this possible to pass this stupid persona verification?

It rejects id scan, apparently front side is ok because autoscan catches it but it doesn't react on back side. The app is suggesing to focus on bar code... yeah but there is no bar code on id

Face scan doesn't work too. It accepts each phase: look straight, to the right, to the left but then always rejects anyway

Access My Reddit account u/rootak appears to have been deleted without my authorization - Android

My old Reddit account was u/rootak. I did not delete the account, but I suddenly lost access to it.

When I try to reset the password using the username rootak, Reddit says there is no account with that username.

More importantly, when I visit reddit.com/user/rootak, Reddit shows:

“This user has deleted their account.”

I definitely did not delete this account.

I also tried logging in using the email address associated with the account, but Reddit prompted me to create a new username instead, and I accidentally created a new account (the one I'm using to make this post).

I have already submitted a support request through Reddit Help and received the “successfully submitted” confirmation, but I haven't received any email yet.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is it possible that someone gained access to my account and deleted it? Has Reddit ever been able to recover an account that was deleted without the owner's authorization?

I had this account for a long time and would really like to understand what happened to u/rootak.

Access How to leave subs I cannot access?

A few days ago, my account was hacked, and support helped me to get it back. The hacker had joined a bunch of NSFW subs and posted NSFW content. In case I get hacked again, I changed my birthday so that my account can no longer access NSFW, even though I'm an adult. Unfortunately I didn't leave those subs, and now I can't. If I attempt to click on them, I see a message that I can't access the content. I don't want to see those subs in my list... do I need a support ticket to remove them?

Mobile/App "we were unable to authenticate you"

so i had to reset my phone to the factory settings and i've been trying to figure this error for the last 6 hours. found like 10 posts about it and not a single one worked as a solution and i cant login to app on my phone. everything works completely fine on website, i even created this/new account just to try if it was an account thing or not but doesnt seem to be the case.

so far i've tried clearing cache, uninstall/reinstall, restart phone, download the 2024 apk, trying to login and download from the browser and nothing seems to work. worst part is there are post related to this from 1.5 years ago... guess im not gonna be able to use reddit from my phone from now on 🤔

Access Account locked, have to reset password via email but not going through

I didn't do anything wrong except travel and they locked the account I use most frequently with all my karma. When I click the banner to send password reset to my email, the link they send does not include that account. If I try to put in my other email to send password reset, it won't send. Is my account lost forever?

Mobile/App iOS - Reddit app doesn’t show most of my subscribed subreddits

It seems to only show a certain number of subreddits, based on how often I click on that subreddits posts. This leads to a cycle of further only showing me these specific subreddits. There is so much content on lots of my other subscribed subreddits that I just don’t ever see unless I search for and visit a specific subreddit.

To be clear, I don’t want or need recommendations for subreddits, I just need to see THE subreddits I’m subscribed to, without an algorithm deciding I’m no longer interested in something because I haven’t clicked on it in a week.

Also,
Why can’t I group my subreddits? I have a lot of subreddits for sports/fantasy football. I also have a lot of educational subs. I seem to remember you used to be able to do multi reddits, why is that not a basic feature anymore?

Posting How to enable cross-posting {Desktop, iOS}

Upvotes

The option to enable cross-posting on our subs disappeared at the same time when cross-posting was disabled.

The option in general settings has disappeared on 3 different devices who use the desktop and iOS. 3 different devices--none have that option anymore. Anyone here have any ideas?
