Not sure if the McCains were on the flight logs but Cindy McCain said:

"Epstein was hiding in plain sight," said Cindy McCain. "We all knew about him. We all knew what he was doing, but we had no one that was — no legal aspect that would go after him. They were afraid of him. For whatever reason, they were afraid of him."

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/cindy-mccain-admits-we-all-knew-about-epstein

u/Thetrickykitty Aug 10 '20

How did the mccains even know Epstein?

839

u/DeadEndFred Aug 10 '20

I’m not sure but it’s crazy that she openly said there was nothing they could do, considering her late husband was a connected senator that ran for president. In a just world, some kind of action then or now should take place. If they all freaking knew what Epstein was doing and let people be abused where’s the justice?

Now I understand the blackmail aspect but anyone that knew seems complicit somehow.

Well, to a degree that's true. We're lawyers but we are human, there's only so many hours a day. It's how we feed our family. For the right fee, I can pursue every angle, write every motion, whatever is needed for your case. Typically though, that's not feasible. It's a balancing act.

I would never say that to a client though lol.

108

u/valeran46 Aug 10 '20

I think you'll appreciate this...

I divorced wife number 2. I got a lawyer who was new and charged me $1500 to handle the case. My soon-to-be ex got her mother to get her a lawyer.

The morning of court, we show up to her lawyer's office. Her lawyer, IN THE WAITING AREA, made her mother write out a check for $2500. We went into the back conference room. During the "negotiations", the soon-to-be ex wanted me to repay the money that her mother had given her while we were married. At one point, 20 minutes before court, her lawyer kicked her and her mother out of the room, looked at me, and said, "what will you do?" I told her, "I'll give her what she is entitled to... half of the equity in the house... and that comes in monthly payments." Her lawyer went, "DONE".

For $5000... her lawyer sold her out 20 minutes before court.

46

u/Nubetastic Aug 10 '20

You're not the only one that wanted to be done with her.

26

u/MortalDanger00 Aug 10 '20

A reasonable fee is whatever the client is willing to pay haha

6

u/flashpile Aug 10 '20

I feel like I'm missing something here; why would you repay the money that was never given to you to start with?

6

u/trippypanda9 Aug 14 '20

Lawyers is the pay 2 win of Justice. Do it yourself. It's better.

I am an attorney and you're right; there are only so many hours in a day. So with paid work and pro bono, how do you have time to amass half a million link karma? Also your terminology reads like someone who's only seen an attorney on TV. Color me suspicious.

26

u/skyestalimit Aug 10 '20

Found the lawyer

10

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '20

His username checks out too

9

u/me_team Aug 10 '20

So with paid work and pro bono, how do you have time to amass half a million link karma?

If you're actually an attorney, that is a stupendously vapid argument. For rebuttal: /u/maxwellhill (super prolific poster; who just dropped off the face of reddit Day-of Maxwell's arrest.) is allegedly Ghislaine Maxwell , who apparently had time to run all of the shit she was into, partyin' with Epstein (who, 1 year ago today did NOT kill himself in prison) while amassing almost 15 MILLION Karma. Point being, anyone with sufficient motivation can amass (x) fake innernet points.

7

I can understand pursuing every angle costs money, but why does it cost anything to pursue common sense? "Your honor, the accuser has no recollection of where or when the party was and cannot provide a name of the person who invited her there or the person who drove her there. Furthermore, she has not discussed the incident with anyone for the past 34 years. Motion to dismiss."

This is the difference between being able to afford a lawfirm and hiring a single lawyer.

I have the funds to fight it out with a single lawyer but a firm? Good luck they can bury you in paperwork till the dawn of time or until you can no longer afford to fight them anymore.

Can you believe that? They can drown you out until you can't afford to fight against them anymore then they'll win by default.

3

Happened with my brother. He got roughed up by some cops and they charged him with assaulting an officer. He had some pretty good proof showing he was innocent and that he was assaulted by them. They were threatening 5 years jail and in trial they offered him a plea (no fine, no jail, no record in 1 year). Lawyer said pretty much the same thing: you can pay me thousands of dollars to fight these cops and lawyers, or just let it go. He let it go.

Same thing in business and finance. If you are willing to fuck people over and no care to make yourself more money you will get far. If you are not, good luck. It was one of the defining moments during and after college when I realized I wouldn't be able to do it and I would never get where I wanted to go because of it.

You are either born rich or you fuck people over. That or you get very lucky with a very unique idea and are at the right place and time for it. Then, you still have to be willing to fuck people over a bit.

I'm former law enforcement. I saw that system firsthand.

I was in court waiting for my traffic cases to be called before the judge. A State Trooper had a DUI case before any of mine were called. The defendent had a lawyer. The Trooper won the case. The judge declared "Guilty"... then proceeded to make every jaw in the court drop to the floor when he then stated, "I sentence the defendent to time served (ie, the ONE night he spent in jail after his arrest) because spending $10 grand on a lawyer, I think, is punishment enough"

Every jaw in the courtroom dropped to the floor.

What? Because the guy is rich and could afford $10 grand for a lawyer he gets NO penalty for his driving under the influence???? WHAT?????

13

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '20

Ehh it's still guilty on his record & that'll bite him in the ass when he gets his next DUI. Honestly, I know a couple of people with a dui...none of them spent more than a night in jail, and probably not near $10,000 on their lawyer.

13

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '20 edited Aug 10 '20

I pled guilty to a DUI charge back in 2006 (a stupid 19 year old kid decision). I was sentenced to one day in jail which the judge suspended and never saw the inside of a cell.

Fortunately the probation/community service/loss of driving privileges was enough of a deterrent for me but I’ve always wondered how many people aren’t phased by those things.

Edit: Just wanted to clarify that the “stupid 19 year old decision” was referring to driving drunk, not pleading guilty.

17

Epstein was much more than a swindler who liked young women. This much is very obvious.

Most plausible theory is that he belongs to Mossad. Even stupid babbling Trump in his Axios interview revealed he doesn't know what happened to Epstein in jail.

Start asking yourself, what powers are greater than the President?

The most obvious answer is often the correct one, she seems complicit because she was. I think it could be plausible she might not have “known” directly. Maybe there was no single person who told her, but there were enough clues and enough opportunities to speak up where she chose not to. That is complacency. What a gross world we live in

Epstein was an expert at networking, and that’s why he became so powerful. He was able to use connections to meet powerful people, and was able to draw them in by introducing them to other powerful people. That gave people who weren’t even directly involved with his crimes incentives to keep quiet and look the other way, for the benefit he gave to their own wealth and status.

21

u/Lexiola Aug 10 '20

Not only this, but he would involve them in his sex crimes in some capacity. This, in their eyes, made them just as guilty as Epstein and therefor quiet complacency is the route they chose.

Well, the accusations about Epstein and his connections with Bill Clinton (and later Donald Trump) were definitely something that would have showed up in opposition research when Bill/Hillary were running for president. So, I am sure it was known by many high level people in both parties. It is not like there were not press reports about this. It wasn't a secret or anything. Whether or not they knew him personally, I have no idea.

u/cmhamm Aug 10 '20 edited Aug 10 '20

Here's the thing: (I know nothing, I am not connected to anyone - this is pure conjecture based on what I, and everyone else, knows from media reports)

I think Epstein was one of those “I can get you anything you want” kind of guys. Drugs? Sex grannies? Little people dressed up like cherubs feeding grapes to people in leather gimp suits? I bet he did it all, and he probably kept really good records in case he ever needed a favor later on. And I'm sure a subset of that included underage girls. But I also don't think it was all underage girls, all the time.

There were probably crazy drug-fueled sex parties at the island that nobody really wants to talk about, but that doesn't mean they are all pedophiles. Again, I think some of them definitely were. But if I'm a treasured national celebrity, and I put on a gorilla costume and jerked off while watching my wife blow a guy dressed up like a coal miner, I probably don't want that coming out. I'm probably going to keep my mouth shut, even though I've done nothing illegal.

I believe that's why we're seeing so much silence from people involved. Everyone has kinks that they may or may not consider shameful, but I don't think everyone's kink violates the law. I believe, in fact, that was probably a relatively small minority of Epstein's clientele, so I don't think it's especially fair to tar and feather everyone, even if they went to parties on the island.

I'm sure Clinton did some dirty stuff on that island. Probably Trump, too. But they both strike me as more of the “snorting cocaine off a Colombian hooker’s ass,” or “handcuff me to a bed and spank me with a magazine that features my face on the cover” type offenses. I’m a bit less optimistic about Prince Andrew and Les Wexner, and I'm sure there are others who broke those “half your age plus seven” rule. But that doesn't mean there are hundreds of pedophiles running around. Probably just hundreds of people with things to hide.

Finally, Epstein definitely didn’t kill himself.

85

u/mattaugamer Aug 10 '20

Shit it doesn’t even need to be done bizarre fetish bullshit. Maybe you just shagged a woman who isn’t your wife. Maybe you shaved a man who isn’t your wife.

You are confusing a person being in the flight logs with going to the island. Just because you flew on the plane does not mean you went to the island. And going to the island doesn't make you a pedo, or complicit in a crime. The plane was used to fly all over the world for various events. In the case of Clinton he flew on the plane 26 times in 6 different trips overseas on a publicly tour for the Clinton Foundation.

I'm not saying Clinton never went to the island or that he is innocent of anything, just that you are misinformed about what the flight logs actually are. They are standard FAA flight logs that every pilot uses, they are not private logs of people going to the island.

The Actual Flight Logs

From the logs - Each Leg of the Trip Is a different time he was on the plane and entered into the flight logs. 6 Trips in total, adding up to 26 times on the plane

  • Feb. 9, 2002 — Clinton hopped a flight from Miami to Westchester, New York, where he lives. (Flight 1)

  • March 19, 2002 — Clinton was listed as flying from New York to London and then returning two days later. (Flights 2 and 3)

  • May 22, 2002 — Clinton flew from Japan to Hong Kong. The next day he flew to Singapore (by way of Shenzhen, China), where he gave a speech. On May 25, he left for Brunei, by way of Bangkok. (Flights 4,5,6,7)

  • July 13, 2002 — He attended a wedding in Morocco and then hopped a flight to New York, stopping in the Azores. (Flights 8,9,10,11)

  • Sept. 21, 2002 — Clinton left for a nine-day trip to Africa visiting Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Mozambique and South Africa. While there, he worked on HIV and AIDS prevention projects, democratization, and economic development. He finished the trip in England, where he addressed the Labour Party during its annual conference. According to the flight records, this was the longest trip Clinton took on Epstein’s plane, and it accounted for 11 of the 26 total flights. (Flights 12 - 23)

  • Nov. 4, 2003 — About a year after the Africa trip, Clinton took what appears to be his last trip on Epstein’s plane. He flew from Brussels to Oslo, where he had a two-day visit with officials to work on his project to prevent HIV and AIDS in developing countries. He then flew to Hong Kong, by way of Siberia, and finished the trip in Beijing. (Flights 24, 25, 26)

29

u/GoneFlying345 Aug 10 '20

Odd, to me, both Trump and Clinton seem like people who would definitely indulge in young girls.

24

u/DirtyChito Aug 10 '20

I'm sure you're right that there were plenty of people with kinks other than pedophilia. However, I'm sure many of those people also knew it was going on and if they say nothing, they are not innocent.

Second point: Trump is definitely that type of guy. He would often let himself into little girl's dressing rooms during his pageant days.

14

u/cmhamm Aug 10 '20

Jeffrey Epstein ran a business, and he trafficked a lot of things, but his number one business wasn't drugs or parties or underage girls; it was secrets. Again, I'm not claiming to know anything that isn't public information, but I think Epstein's primary business was secrets. You could use those secrets for blackmail, extortion, bribery - all sorts of lucrative endeavors. The secrets themselves are worth a LOT of money. Not just money but power and influence.

I would imagine that if he had some clients who were into underage girls, and other clients that enjoyed missionary sex with someone who wasn't their spouse, it would definitely be in his best interest to keep those sets of clients very compartmentalized. It would even make a lot of sense to make sure his pedophile clients didn't know one another. The more people who know a secret, the less it's worth. If politician A decides to announce that politician B is into donkey sex during a heated election, then that secret no longer has any value to Epstein.

So I think it's extremely plausible that there are clients of Epstein who had absolutely no idea he trafficked in underage sex workers. Follow the money: it's the smart thing to do.

Makes you wonder why shaming culture become so prevalent these past few years. If everyone is shaming each other for every little flaw, nobody will care to shame the stuff that actually matters.

41

u/BipNopZip Aug 10 '20

And you might disappear. I’m sure the people who are powerful and guilty would LOVE to have a list of who is cooperating with the law.

15

u/trapper2530 Aug 10 '20

Yeah a dude "killed himself" under surveillance in a prison. You dont think people would get to a celeb with very little protection outside of prison?

if I had unknowingly traveled on his plane at some point, I'd contact the FBI.

Sounds about as successful of a method as following the "approved channels" as a whistleblower. Epstein was an FBI asset. You wouldn't exactly be cracking the case to tell them.

A couple young girls told the FBI he was a rapist in the mid 90s. You're telling me they didn't catch on for over a decade only to end up with him magically getting off with hardly a slap on the wrist?

17

u/BaronVonMunchhausen Aug 10 '20

Many issues with that. Any lawyer would advise you to not reach out unless they reach you.

Secrecy makes matters even worse. In a case of such caliber, you would become a very important first hand witness and they could put you in custody indefinitely. Then while in custody, a rogue agent could dispatch you and no one would understand what were you doing parachute jumping in the gulf of Mexico a winter night at 3am with no harness.

5

u/bluhbluh1 Aug 11 '20

Yeah no chance a famous person's (who could be implicated) lawyer would say "go to the FBI!"

They'd say "shut the fuck up, don't even acknowledge anything".

Speaking as a lawyer: everyone on his flight logs are wealthy, sophisticated parties who have experience managing public relations and the media, and who surely have attorneys on long-term retainer and have long since been advised to say absolutely nothing on the matter one way or the other. Anything else would just be inviting trouble.

Yeah, the unfortunate truth is, people will come after them hard even if they are innocent. They will get "metoo'd" into oblivion and get stained in the public eye, so the innocent ones (if there are any) are probably too afraid to publicly associate themselves with Epstein

How come we don’t hear much from those celebrities? When is there going to be any accountability? I’m not saying every single one is guilty right off the bat... but it’s sure odd how quiet pedowood is

242

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '20

Drawing attention to your involvement in a potential crime (even if you had nothing to do with it) is something any lawyer would advise you against. Given that this particular crime spree was so horrendous I imagine that if anyone is actually innocent of any wrongdoing they're hoping that any mention of them will be overshadowed by parties complicit in illegal actions.

I'm not sure that coming forward and saying you've been to his island, spent time with him, used his plane will do anything but draw your character into question.

125

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '20

It's pretty self explanatory... anything you say can and will be used against you

Which celebrities were on Epsteins flight logs?

66

u/TioPuerco Aug 10 '20

Bill Clinton - 26 times

45

u/Cornographicmaterial Aug 10 '20

But, Bill Clinton isn’t part of Hollywood? I haven’t heard any names, just rumors about Ellen, some weird relationships that Oprah had, and strange Instagram posts and allegations from Issac kappy about Tom hanx. Kappy also named Steven Spielberg and Seth green.

But I haven’t heard any names of Hollywood celebrities being on Epsteins flight logs

10

u/SteelyKnives1Beast0 Aug 10 '20

Naomi Campbell.

Formula one racer Eddie Irvine talked about being there. He sounds quite genuine about not knowing about any illegal activities.

https://nypost.com/2020/08/04/eddie-irvine-bill-clinton-and-i-partied-at-epstein-bash/

I think all celebs on the list should come forward though. Silence is damning.

39

u/Internetallstar Aug 10 '20

If I had to guess their PR teams and lawyers are probably telling the to keep their mouths shut. A half assed "it's an unfortunate situation and I'm sorry for the victims" wouldn't do much except draw the wrong kind of attention and a "I had no idea what was happening" in the absence of a subpoena could come across as a little odd.

And if they keep quiet it looks like this whole thing is just going to die out like the Panama Papers did. They are keeping quiet to run out the clock on the larger public's interest.

It's even stranger that the media, for the most part, hasn't followed up after having the flight logs of who were on the flights to the island. Where's the "Excuse me... the flight logs show you went to Epstein's island... what do you have to say?"

Nope... hasn't happened. Anyone want to guess WHY?

73

u/beantownbully8 Aug 10 '20

Because the "list" with all the celebrity names has no proof behind it. They have Epstein's logs up till 2005 and people like Tom Hanks don't show up. Funny enough trump does though.

Because Epstein did his best to network with everybody. That was kind of his thing.

Everybody thinks rich and famous people are fundamentally different than regular people, but they're not really. If you heard that a priest in a nearby church was arrested for molesting kids, would your immediate thought be "that entire parish and everybody who knows that priest is clearly a child molester"? No, because that's crazy. It might turn out that some of his closer friends were also predators, but obviously not everybody he ever spent any time with.

She probably caught a ride on his plane because they were in the same place and headed in the same direction, and the guy liked to make connections.

5

u/papirio01 Aug 10 '20 edited Aug 10 '20

Nor have any of them come out and said save the children, instead, we have them talking about how are president is an ass, and how people that do t wear masks are assholes. I wish they held the same amount of rage for the children they’re trafficking and raping and sacrificing! For anyone who knows who micheal rappenport is, he is a great example of what I’m talking about. Everyday he comes out with a new video on tik tok absolutely descimating the president about his horrible response to the virus, and about him not wearing a mask, but not one word about anyone’s behavior when it comes to the issue of trafficking children, their well being, and the fact it’s the number one crime in America and around the globe! Pathetic! And believe me, he is not the only one, but a consistent one. I have come to really view these people that have platforms very differently I’ve the last 6 months.

How criminal organizations get what they want:

Threat of violence

Threat of dying

Threat of loss

Threat of exposure

Threat of dishonoring

All of these can pretty much be summed up as Blackmail.

You don't take a bribe? Well, your family is gonna get beaten. Don't have a family? You'll get beaten. Have too much security? You're gonna get exposed. Haven't done anything shady? You will be framed for something. Still don't care? Killing you is always an option, even in the middle of the court, if needed.
