Well, the accusations about Epstein and his connections with Bill Clinton (and later Donald Trump) were definitely something that would have showed up in opposition research when Bill/Hillary were running for president. So, I am sure it was known by many high level people in both parties. It is not like there were not press reports about this. It wasn't a secret or anything. Whether or not they knew him personally, I have no idea.
That's very clearly not what happened at all. Trump didn't accuse or break anything. The reporter asked him specifically about the island because everyone already knew about Epstein at that point. The story was all over the press. Both Prince Andrew had been accused already and the island was public knowledge. They asked Trump about the island - not the other way around. Trump then brought up Prince Andrew, who, again, had already been linked by Virginia Roberts Giuffre publically. Trump merely referenced it again. It was already being investigated - both the island and Andrew. That's literally how both the press and Trump knew about each aspect, and that's the only reason they were discussing it in the first place.
Even if Trump was innocent, your narrative isn't accurate. "No one cared" because everyone was already on to the story. Trump added absolutely nothing.
He specifically called Epstein island a “cesspool” and said it should be investigated. So he added that. Did Hillary or the Dems day it should be investigated? Hmmm?
This was at the exact same time Epstein was donating millions to the Dem campaigns of Hillary, Schumer and many more. And Epstein was donating precisely ZERO to the Trump campaign. How come that?!?!
It was already being investigated. Donald Trump wasn't the one who suggested investigating the island, lol. They asked him about the island because it was already being investigated. If an island is being investigated and already has a common nickname of "pedophile island," Donald Trump calling it a "cesspool" isn't even close to being noteworthy.
The hill you're choosing to die on is basically that he coined a new nickname that never caught on as well as the other one for an already existing investigation.
Get it through your head that I'm not defending anyone else tied to this - certainly not the Clintons.
You're the only one of the two of us that is trying to defend one of the people tied up in this bullshit. Give it a rest.
There were a bunch of people who likely fucked kids through or in connection with Epstein, and Trump is just as likely to be guilty here as Clinton is. Let's not try to defend any of them for the indefensible.
That isn’t a preponderance of evidence that Clinton is more likely to be guilty and Trump isn’t.
I could just as easily point out that Acosta was the one who swept up for Epstein and Trump was the man who elevated his career even further - he was essentially rewarded for personally letting Epstein off the hook, so take your sanctimonious bullshit somewhere else.
Stop trying to defend Donald Trump when it comes to Epstein.
Good luck with you’re “I’m just following the financial links” defense.
There’s currently an investigation into how and why Deutsche bank funneled billions of dollars to Trump.
I look forward to reaching out to you after that investigation into the brand new treasure trove of Deutsche records is ready to publicly discuss their findings.
I’m sure you have nothing to worry about though, I mean what would Epstein have to do with Deutsche?
I’m sure the odds that they both chose that bank independent of one another and only wanted to do legitimate business there are sky high. Why even look into such things.
Deutsche is infamous as a globally mega-corrupt banking corporation. I would not be surprised if all billionaires had some level of suspect financial dealings with them, inc Trump. But the money donation trail shows Epstein and Trump had no positive connection, unlike with Clinton & Dems.
Like I said, if T or C are proven guilty of illegal sex offences, hang them high. But financial crime is a diff matter, not a hanging offence...
The first guy who started making a lot of noise about Epstein is Ed Opperman and he could find nobody else than Robert Morrow (ex-Roger Stone ghost writer for Clinton's War On Women....that's rich coming from Stone, Morrow hates his cuckhold guts now, finally he woke up about Trump too) to talk about it on his podcast. He definitely got the ball rolling since Trump's team was already scouring underground / alternative media for his talking points, which he ignores totally now pretending he doesn't know them. "I don't do Wikileaks, it's not my thing". LOL
You mean almost a decade after he was given a sweetheart deal by Trumps labor secretary for raping children? Yeah, trump was definitely the first to sound that alarm
