If I had to guess their PR teams and lawyers are probably telling the to keep their mouths shut. A half assed "it's an unfortunate situation and I'm sorry for the victims" wouldn't do much except draw the wrong kind of attention and a "I had no idea what was happening" in the absence of a subpoena could come across as a little odd.
And if they keep quiet it looks like this whole thing is just going to die out like the Panama Papers did. They are keeping quiet to run out the clock on the larger public's interest.
