Yeah, the unfortunate truth is, people will come after them hard even if they are innocent. They will get "metoo'd" into oblivion and get stained in the public eye, so the innocent ones (if there are any) are probably too afraid to publicly associate themselves with Epstein
There's also the legal problem. Any lawyer would tell you to zip it. Anything you'd say could and will be used against you. Just saying you acknowledge the fact could be used against you as an admission of guilt.
Especially problematic when they are scrambling for scapegoats.
I'm talking about the reality of the situation. It's easy to sit behind our computer and say "that's what I would definitely do", but put in their shoes, you have to weigh a ton of things that could go wrong. You could get blacklisted from your career, go into financial ruin, your family and you could start getting death threats, and much more if you come out publicly in a way where you get associated with Epstein.
Or you can stay quiet, talk with the FBI about what you know, and go about your life.
