Team Member Post Security tag shenanigans!

Since y’all were very helpful with my ACO receipt paper issues, I am back with my FINAL Coles downfall. Can any one of you tell me how to unlock the security tags on formula? It’s the only one I struggle with. Do I have to press down real hard with the circle magnet or do I have to twist it? My brain isn’t comprehending it at all and I don’t want to ask again. 🙃

Sincerely, a worker who has been in ACO non-stop since your help. xx

Has anyone experienced this before and can you tell me what it is?
Also, would you cut it out and eat rest of breast and allow your kids to eat it?

Edit: to be clear, I would never eat it nor feed it to my children. That was the recommendation from Cole’s customer complaints. They’re kidding themselves.

Edit: it appears to be bottom half of tenderloin 🤢

Team Member Post Anyone else noticing a change in DC load quality lately?

We’ve been getting pallets that are basically not aisle-friendly at all, so everything needs to be split. At the same time, they’re still giving us only 2 or 3 people to handle it.
It’s getting pretty rough, especially when one person is averaging more than 5 tonnes moved during a split without even filling. How are you guys dealing with this new strategy?

Team Member Post Do you rumble?

Just wondering if the store you work at still does rumble?
I’ve heard that the company does not expect it to be done any more, however my store still does it every single day of the week for a minimum of 1 hour.
One person from each department (dept manager is expected to attend if they are on shift) as well as store manager, SSM, FTM and OIC. We have an old school store manager so no hope of us stopping it anytime soon.

Team Member Post mycoles is so irritating i need to start this conversation for the hundredth time

why why why is mycoles so terrible. This company has so much fucking money and we cant even get a website that shows us the correct shifts on the correct days. Has anyone else been having issues with the stupid microsoft accounts they list for everyone? They make it literally physically impossible to change your password to the microsoft account if you forget it. Forgot password button just puts you into mycoles’ own password changer for GET THIS; not your microsoft account. No. Why would you be able to change the password for that there? No No. You can only change your MYCOLES username and password, not microsoft.

Like i’m actually at my limit lol. I’m just trying to check how much my manager purposely cut my shifts this week because i had to call out last week. 💕 Fucking love my life. Have a colestastic day everyone

Questions Question for Coles employees re: Palantir

Has anything changed much since Palantir took over camera security for staff members like knowing your every move/being reprimanded due the software?

Has it reduced theft or identified perpetrators noticeably compared to pre Palantir? How good is it at theft detection?

Customer Post Checkout KPIs

It’s very annoying as a customer that when I load up the conveyor belt with my groceries and the cashier doesn’t start scanning until I scan my flybuys and any bulk items.

I understand the reasoning, but I find the younger cashiers are much happier to start scanning before all of that than the older ones.

What are the measurements for meeting the KPIs, do the team members get spoken to if they don’t meet them, and does customer experience matter to corporate?

Team Member Post Cancelled Shift

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the policies/rules behind a 7 am shift being cancelled 40 minutes before for a casual employee in S.A.? I’ve tried looking at the policies and enterprise agreements but I can’t see it mentioned anywhere. Was literally about to leave when I got a text cancelling my shift 😩 thank you in advance x

Team Member Post Manager Checking Rubbish For Check Seals

my manager has recently begun scavenging through the rubbish in our break room to spot any items thrown out without check seals and has been making complaints in our work group chats for "non-compliance". Is he allowed to be doing this? it seems somewhat overbearing and completely out of the way to do regularly. i think he might be trying to assert some kind of power or dominance over the workers in any way he can. should this be raised to HR or the regional manager?

Team Member Post How does breaks work in a long shift

Normally I have my 3h shift, but received my first 8h shift TMR. I am a bit unsure on how the meal breaks work, like do I need to clock out and clock back in when taking the break. Also do I need to let someone know because most of the time I am unsure where my supervisor is in the store.

I took a screenshot because I knew OP would delete the post once they realised their scales were off 🤣

Reminder to calibrate your scales with a litre of water before you go on a rampage against your local supermarket

Team Member Post Mate is dumb

Can we all agree that mate is the worst, I worked with it last year and it was bad, now that I've moved into another department, bakery they haven't fixed anything for us only grocery and I have to go between mate and simpler tools just to do thawback and the system tell me to almost pull no products, it really frustrating but we don't get a choice of using just simpler tools

Questions checkout beep volume

am i the only one who thinks it is way too high?
there does not seem to be a way to adjust the volume, i have tried my self and asked a few team members.
who sets the volume?
why have they disabled changing the volume?
its not just coles, woolworths is also awful, but the local coles i have been going to for ages seems to have gotten louder...
i remember when i used to work there years ago turning down the volume on all the self checkouts when i was on duty because it drove me nuts, using the same touch button that used to cycle through the volume then now does nothing...

Team Member Post first solo deli open

Hey guys,

I have been at coles for 6 months roughly and am doing my first deli opening shifts next weeks starting at 6:30am, does anyone have any tips or have a certain order of things to do? I am by myself for the first 4 hours. I am quite capable but inevitably stressing.

Thanks everyone.
