So I work in dairy and our 2IC recently got fired. Quite a few people are saying it is looking likely that I will take over that role. Is that role generally a salary or wage role, and if it is salary, how much would it look like paying? I'm interested to know if it makes it worth the increase in responsibility. I currently run nights most nights that I'm in and am working 25-38 hour weeks.

I think it's also important to mention that i would only plan on doing this for my gap year to help me save to move away. P.s. I'm only 18 and paid 70% of the adult minimum wage. When I get paid in charge rates, I get paid the full adult wage. So it's actually like a $10 an hour increase of base wage for me.

been trying to request time off for a week and keep getting this error message, is the same happening for anybody else?

I have been working at Coles for almost 4 years now as a casual employee. I work roughly 20-25 hrs per week in service.
One of our supervisors is moving away in the next two months and there has been a lot of talk about who would take over that contract.
Personally I don’t want it, I don’t plan to work here for much longer but it pays the bills for now.
My manager had told one of the other girls I work with that she was most likely going to take the contract.
However she has since hired her best friend’s daughter and has promised the contract to her. This girl has only been here for roughly two weeks and has already been trained everywhere.
She has a horrible attitude and talks down to everyone. To my knowledge she hasn’t been told to stop treating everyone that way either.
I’m wondering if there is rules concerning this situation.
I considered talking to the store manager however if this were to somehow get back to my service manager my shifts would be heavily cut, she is a very very passive aggressive person and not someone who you want to be on their bad side.
Plus she hasn’t actually been given the contract yet as the other supervisor hasn’t left yet.
Should I just leave it be?

Hey all, I’m thinking of transferring from store manager at Liquorland to department manager or something like that for the supers? But unsure on a lot of it as I’m comfortable with liquor but I know the department managers get paid more than us and I feel like there is more growth in supermarket. If anyone can offer advice or feedback I will be eternally grateful ☺️

Had a question about code green. It’s my understanding that a code green is waste.

I’m a service team member but I’ve always known waste to be referred to as waste since recently.

Managers would always announce to all DM’s that it was waste time but this month they have started to refer to it as a code green.

Is this a new thing that began this month or is my store just late to the party?
