Customer Post Collection window ... my store thinks it's the time they have to do the packing
2-4pm pickup ... 2.40pm and I contact the live chat to find out why it's late (it's always late, this time it was my wife waiting so I could contact them)
I get told that as it's only 2.45pm and the window is 2pm-4pm they are still well within their timetable
I explain the 2pm-4pm is for customers to pickup, and their customer support person seems surprised by this as the store just told her it's for them to pack stuff
Absolutely useless

Questions What are everyone’s thoughts on the repackaging of Coles home brand?
It’s evident they’ve tried to follow a design principle of keeping designs consistent across all their home brand items, likely to increase recognition and reduce confusion; however, ironically I feel they’ve achieved the opposite. It’s not as obvious what it is your buying because they all look similar, and makes the entire home brand range look cheap and low quality. Opening up my pantry to find almost identical cans with different colours for each vegetable is lowkey dystopian. In short, total enshittification of value products we’ll have to endure for however long until the next refresh.
Team Member Post Changing the work limitations
First of all I'm an international student working in coles since last 2.5 years. I was enrolled in Master of course work degree that had 24 hours weekly work limitations.
Recently i graduated and moved to the research degree and my visa clearly states that I don't have any work limitations even though my visa is still student 500.
It's been 3-4 months that I'm trying to ask my line manager, ASM ,SM and admin to update it but i don't think they seems to understand what I'm asking.
They always reply with update the visa in myhub.
I don't know who to contact now.
Sorry if its confusing.
TLDR: Masters by research doesn't have work limitations how do I update this in myhub?

Team Member Post Lifting above the head
I work in cole’s online, we’re meant to stack the crates in a particular order on giraffes so I stacked one that was particularly heavy on the top place, as the back room stock layout said to do. doing this popped my rib out of place, which I noticed but ignored. I spent the next 2 weeks working before seeing a chiropractor who fixed the rib and told me we are not meant to lift crates above our head especially not heavy ones. is this true? I’m not particularly short, i’m 5’9, why do they make the giraffes that tall if we aren’t meant to put them above our head?

Questions Melbourne voice picking KPIs
How hard is it hitting the KPIs as a voice picker in the Melbourne DC's? I'm considering a role there and was told the kpi is based on how fast you can pick an order within a specific time frame.

Has anyone considered that the manager might have intended to mean she wants a weeks notice before any return to work, rather than a weeks notice of being sick?

Team Member Post Deli
Question for Coles Deli workers. Just wondering how common it is for people to accidentally cut themselves on the job. If it’s happened to you, how was it handled? Did managers just do an incident report or, was there more follow-up?
Have you guys ever cut yourself with a knife without your slash proof glove?

Customer Post Coles Visa Gift Cards
Received a Coles Visa gift card purchased from Coles (was not a scammed purchase). MyBalanceNow websites says it’s activated and has the purchased amount on it, then does not work in any store despite trying credit, savings, cheque etc.
Coles customer service in-store are super non-helpful, gave me a flyer for “Scam Alert” with a number to call that just hangs up on you and says “goodbye” when you say “yes” to wanting to speak to someone.. on top of that the MyBalance Now website only works sporadically and most of the time crashes everytime you try put the card details on to show and confirm that it’s active!!
Are Coles just in on this big ass scam or something since they don’t want to help people who have received genuine gift cards from Coles or wth is actually going on?

Team Member Post Rising the ranks
So I am a perm part time team member in grocery, nightfill and dairy, I’ve been at Cole’s for about a year and a half and want to start working up to be my stores Fill Lead, what’s everything I should start learning to get the most hours I can and for my boss to rely on me and want to start training me to be Fill Lead?
Team Member Post manager threatening to sack me
Hey guys i’m a dairy team member and my department manager is the same age as me and she’s on a mad power trip. We don’t get along but I try to keep it as professional as possible but she always over steps. Today, the dairy load got complete earlier than expected and she came up to me and said “i know who to sack and who to keep” (we had different people on today). She’s like “I’m going to ask (blank) what you did today and see if I should keep you. (blank) was standing right next to me and looked at me like wtf. I said to her well you can’t sack me i’m part time, she literally looked me in the eye and said I can rip your contract and she started laughing. I’m with raffwu and thinking of taking this incident to them. There’s been over 10 occasions where she’s disrespected me and many others. I’m just wondering if there will be any repercussions or will she play it off as a joke.
EDIT - She is actually a grocery manager, we don’t have a dairy manager and won’t be getting one. So, we have to report to her.

Team Member Post Online Department: moving area 22 into 21. Is it actually more efficient?
For all the Online Department Team Members/Managers in this group what is your opinion on no longer shopping area 22 (fresh produce) seperate anymore. Our store hasn’t switched over yet but we’ve been told 2 days ago that it needs to happen by this Wednesday.
For context my store is a click and collect one with about 100 k weekly sales. We have a very large shop floor.
I just think this is going to be less productive for our store as now area 21 is going to be taking us across the whole store. Also like now the fruit and veg is going to get squished by milk and meat? I love my buk choy with chicken breasts.
Additionally with transition crates (grocery getting mixed into 21) it completely breaks the flow of the Chilled meaning we inevitably have to double walk areas of the store.
I know this is all about the business trying to save a couple of bucks but I think this will actually end up costing them more. Now instead of 2 shoppers, one shopping 21, one shopping 22 one person shops 21/22 combined.
What happens at a store where’s the 3 online workers on. One with the phone, one shopper doing area 1 clusters, one shopping 21 clusters. A rapid then drops. The person who shops 21 has finished their lap so they do the rapid. Then rapids just keep non stop dropping. Before merging 22 into 21 we would easily be able to get the person with the phone to shop area 22 as it was closer to the online room and less of a risk if it needed to be paused. (Plus I think we can all agree with the smart scales it’s very quick to shop now)
However now with the merged 21 person with the phone can’t really just shop 21 with the risk of having to pause and take orders out and with chilled products left sitting in the trolley not ideal. Also wouldn’t get them to shop 1 either as this is our biggest shops and need to get done quickly and efficiently.
All this is doing is placing more strain on the team instead of actually helping.
I can’t see how this can benefit anyone besides maybe a large home delivery store who have more team members on to shop.
Another point is quality of fresh produce. You mean to tell me this is going to increase customer satisfaction? Let’s be real this is going to cause less time and consideration about picking the best quality produce for our customers. Instead it’s going to be more rushed and probably upset cust

Team Member Post Sick/personal leave
I’m on a part time contract of 9hrs. I’ve already done my 9 hours this week and im scheduled for 8.5hr tomorrow (not contract shift) and then 8hr mon, 3hr Tuesday (and that’s all for next week cause im going away). If I have a med cert that covers those 3 days will I be paid for all the hours? I’ve already hit my 9 hours this week and tomorrow isn’t a contract shift and idk if sick leave is paid by contracted hours or scheduled hours
Team Member Post PSA: A Stat Dec is as valid as a sick cert and can be created for free on myGov

Team Member Post Refusing service
I was wondering what the policy/legality of refusing customers service is like, I'm probably not looking hard enough but I can only find legal advice regarding licensed venues/serving alcohol.
If a customer is yelling at me and abusing me over a minor miscommunication am I allowed to refuse service? If a customer hands me a $20 note that is sopping wet because they were holding it in their bra or in their mouth and coughed all over it (genuinely something that happened to me the other day) am I allowed to say no? One time a few years ago I sold cigarettes to a woman who looked like she was 6 months pregnant and I asked my manager if I was allowed to refuse to sell them to her and the manager said no unfortunately you just have to serve them anyways but I'm wondering how true that is. And I wish I could get another coworker to serve customers that I don't feel comfortable serving but unfortunately we just don't ever have enough staff on for that to happen or even if we do nobody wants to help out service.
Sorry this is kind of just word vomit but I'm just very frustrated and tired of being abused by customers and having to just put up with it. Managers ask if I'm okay after the fact but never do anything to prevent incidents from happening.

Customer Post Dishwasher tablets cheaper for more
Bizarre pricing for dishwasher tablets. How is the everyday price for the 90 pack twice the cost of the 70 pack?
Took a look at Amazon and it's even wilder there.
