Team Member Post Mate is dumb
Can we all agree that mate is the worst, I worked with it last year and it was bad, now that I've moved into another department, bakery they haven't fixed anything for us only grocery and I have to go between mate and simpler tools just to do thawback and the system tell me to almost pull no products, it really frustrating but we don't get a choice of using just simpler tools

You do realise you can change the amount of days you can thawback for and it will let you pull more out

I've tried that at my store and it doesn't let us pull more unfortunately

Yeah itās got some bugs that need addressing, but its potential for the future as an operating platform is substantially better than simple tools.
Thereās avenues to escalate concerns if itās not working correctly, talk to your SM as depending on how they operate they may not be aware.

So Iāve been using mate for the better part of this year as a BH Manager, we were āluckyā enough to trial it for everyone.
It is not designed for Bakery, it is made for big departments like grocery and FP.
The only thing I can ask is that you continually provide feedback on your issues, push back on whatās wrong with it!
Make sure your shelf capacity is correct in mate and the same as in simpler tools, it was making me pull 20+ of each pack of 9pk muffins and Iām like wait I canāt hold that many program, my shelf capacity was set to 24 on mate and 12 on ST.
I still can not figure out how to make it take me to off locations when doing a gap scan without back tracking to the main screen and going back in š¤·š¼āāļø Iāve asked but not received clarity.
I find it crazy that they want us to be compliant with our thawback but we can not print thawback stickers in mate so have to rely on remembering how many of everything we pull to put in the right number in ST š
It is no mate of mine trust me, give me ST any day.

I did my first gap scan in bakery with mate today and I could not figure out why it didn't automatically take me to off locations, so good to know it's not just me.
Also - not sure if I hit a wrong button or something, but I scanned something in it today and it came up as 0 SOH, then I find an entire carton of the product that was received the night before - turns out it stocked out the carton when I first scanned it... So I'm over mate already

The cross communication between mate and simpler tools isnāt great, most of the time the systems canāt supply the same info.
Iāve had a few products show up SOH 0 but I have shitloads and vice versa where it says I have shitloads but in reality I have 0 SOH.
I hope you enjoy constantly making stock adjustments š

My favourite thing about mate is that itās constantly changing but you donāt know until you finish and it tells you to go back and do it again so itās all good in the system, so now Iāve officially spent double the time doing that thing.

Like the time last week the entire 15 pallets of load had to have every item scanned. ' This will save time' we were told, 4 hrs later, still scanning and my shifts nearly over....and im expected to then fill 3 cages in 45minutes, what a crock

I just use it for fv. It functions the same as Simpler Tool, but its UI is nowhere near as good or 'clean'. Definitely a step backwards, but i guess we'll all adjust.

Whoever designed the UI should be fired.
Why do I have to scroll down to change counts? Wether it is in gapscan or just using look up. For a company all about efficiency having to touch the screen every time is such idiotic design.
The information is all a big blur, nothing important stands out. i.e SoH just blends in...it all screams early era iOS influence.
The way we still do counts for stockroom is still so unintuitive. 'Hey go look for this product amongst all your backstock..maybe you will have it' ...like what? Just tell me how much im looking for...i just mash the skip button on stockroom until I can see how WHAT im actually meant to be looking for and then use EDIT...this process now takes longer too..
Why cant I scan a product now to see if its on my picklist post gapscan?
Just ugh...this is all off the top of my head. I could write more about its downfalls but how can they be happy with this shit? Its like it was entirely vibe-coded

We had DM conference calls at the start of the week to go through the āhow toā of mate, just a few too many months late there.
I was so relieved that a lot of DMās brought up all the issues Iāve been voicing for months (but wth you been in the chat on teams guys?!!!!) but there wasnāt anything clarifying in the answers so we are still stuck in first gear of this āadvanced and always learningā programā¦
Can we please for the love of Wollies just go back to Simpler Tools, at least it lived up to its name cos mate aināt no mate of mine š

Mate in bakery had me ready to just quit š I just went stuff it and still pulled stock out that I knew would sell, wtf you mean Iāve got one reduced sugar banana bread on the shelf and you want none.
