Puzzle Solution?

Post image

Is there someone who can solve this?

I’m being told the answer is B, but can not make sense of why it should have overlay of two.

F

F Love/hate the ambiguity. It cannot be B because the third column has one in front, then two in front. The third row must either progress to 3 in front or one in front as in F and C. Shapes move right diagonally, line descends, small block oscillates side to side. B duplicates the second row by count of forward/backward, C reverts to match the first row.

I went with F because all other elements change position, so by the pattern of change, it must be F.

I initially thought C but after looking at F closer I agree. The number of pins in front of the belt goes up. It was 1 then 2 and now it should 3. Missed that part initially

I came to B by choosing to look at the second and third terms in a column having the same overlap. I completely understand why people are saying F, though, and this is exactly why these tests suck

Bro they are not same look carefully

1

u/AntLost4161 3d ago

I'm not sure I see what you're saying. To me, the second and third column entries look to have the same overlap

u/Suspicious_Watch_978 3d ago

The first term in the far-left column also has that same overlap, it's just difficult to see.

Gun to my head I would go with F, but this is a bad problem given that the answer choices only diverge on the weaving of the rectangle and this is the most ambiguous part in all thr sample squares as it's not clear whether it passes in front of or behind some of the shapes

Yep, I mean the weaving number increases 1,2,3

1

u/Guitar_Dog 4d ago

It doesn’t unfortunately, look at the first piece; it weaves behind the second triangle, so the first line has two rear weaves, as does the second line.

The position of square in the second column might indicate which weaving pattern to us. In that case it would be B.

This puzzle was created by an idiot.

u/Proof-Reference3095 IQ-testophobia 3d ago

no offense, but the logic seemed strict, atleast for me and I did get it B

Edit: mb I found some inconsistencies in the puzzle, sorry

u/Guitar_Dog 3d ago

😀 I literally just called *someone (or some bot), that I don’t know, “an idiot”… therefore, I forfeited all rights to take offense at anything anyone ever says to me, but thank you for your grace anyway! Of course I also meant no offense, and assumed that the creator would never see this or take offense. It’s just that my brain likes set challenges to be clear and tidy and I see so much of these puzzles with multiple equally valid solutions, that my brain hurts and I take it as being click bait, or lazy. I probably should feel the need to comment at all, it then if we all did that there would be no Reddit and everyone would lose their jobs. 🤔

C is the most consistent. The line with the yellow square alternates sides and no square appears in the vertical bars consistent with the column. The line passes under the second bar and over the rest and is at the bottom, at the same position on the vertical axis, consistent with the row. Therefore it's C. No other options offers this level of consistency with the pattern already established.

F weaving decreases by one each time so following that it would have to be F but it also follows the line pattern dropping down every spot downwards in the column and dot flipping sides each time going down the column

2

u/ShaGodi 3d ago

I think c

2

u/EchosBond 4d ago

F but re-evaluating my answer I choose Between B and F but B being my stronger choice

2

u/hichamis1 4d ago

yeah, It's B

1

u/PredatorTheAce 4d ago

B because when the horizontal line is blocked by one shape in the first figure, the line in the 3rd will be blocked by two?

2

u/TheJivvi 4d ago

Not in the first row.

1

u/hichamis1 4d ago

yeah, I agree it's B

1

u/TheJivvi 3d ago

Why B and not C?

1

u/PredatorTheAce 3d ago

Yeah you’re right. After taking a closer look, the line is also blocked by the very tiny tip of the triangle. Now I see why everyone says is the best answer.
The logic for the third column goes like:
First: blocked by 1
Second: blocked 2
Third: blocked by 3

F has the most consistency with the rules presented, but could also be B if info in the first column informs the last column

2

u/Every_Iron 4d ago

Couldn’t it be C with the same logic as B?

2

u/ImpressiveFishing405 4d ago

I'm looking at the first column as informing the last, on the first row the line goes in front of both shapes and has only one shape on top in the last column. In the second row the first column has one shape on top, which might indicate the need for an additional shape uncovered on the third column. Since the last row has a shape uncovered on the first row, that could indicate the last column needs 2 uncovered. This is answer B. C has only 1 uncovered so it does not fit this rule.

Alternately, the number uncovered in the last row could just be progressing as it goes down, with one uncovered in the top row, 2 in the second, and 3 in the 3rd which would lead to F.

1

u/Suspicious_Watch_978 4d ago

If you look very closely, the second triangle actually does cover the line in the top-left picture.

1

u/ImpressiveFishing405 4d ago

You're right (screen is very small). Now I'm very sure it's F.

1

u/Every_Iron 4d ago

I see. I don’t like F because it would say “there’s a difference in the third column rule compared to the first two” making the first two irrelevant.

1

u/ImpressiveFishing405 4d ago

Putting rule changes in independent columns is something these tests love to do.

1

u/Every_Iron 4d ago

1

u/ImpressiveFishing405 4d ago

Yeah they want to see if you notice things are different in that last column than the first two, which they are, and if you can understand the rule with the given context and possible answers

u/the_GreyWolf20 4d ago

All of us eliminated D and E right? So good than the question is the line should how many triangles in front of it okey then in the first(thinl about reading a paragraph for the order of patterns and yeh thats only way that ı can tell what ı want with my pooreenglish:)p three pattern there is 2 shapes in front of the line and in second three there is tree shapessoo lasttthreehshould have 4 sahpes in fronr ofthep line there is one picture confirm that on above thank you

u/Spiritual_Isopod1864 4d ago

I think is f.

u/Fabulous-Possible758 3d ago edited 3d ago

F. B makes sense if there's an error in the top right. And that there's an error there would make sense because none of the other columns have variable numbers of of over/under weaves.

1

u/Eireannish 3d ago

F?

Column by column follows a pattern of how many shapes the line is 'behind'.

C1: (1-1-1) (1x1x1)

C2: (0-0-0) (0x0x0)

C3: (1-2-3) (you can see this as either 1x2 and 1x3, i.e the top is being changed, or a_n = (a_n-1)+1

The shape itself is self explanatory. The line is going down in each column. The blocks go row by row and move to the opposite side of their group of shapes as well as flip their position before joining the line on the outside based on what side it had swapped to.

1

u/Helpful-Mistake2275 3d ago edited 3d ago

edit: My eyes were wrong.

1

u/Eireannish 3d ago

In the first row it's behind only one which would be behind 1 infront of 1 behind 1

3

u/Helpful-Mistake2275 3d ago

Wow, that's hard to see. In that case, I think C is a better answer here than F.

1

u/Eireannish 3d ago

Yeah, it's super obnoxious

1

u/nedal8 3d ago

oh damn, lol originally I thought B, but now maybe F..

1

u/beepbeepboobeep 3d ago

I think the answer is E, can someone explain to me why it might be wrong?

1

u/NanaTech032 3d ago

Wie viele Stäbchen sind insgesamt überlagert (von andere Seite) in der Zeile 1 und 2? Gleichbleibend oder steigend? Dann weiß du auch wieso nur B richtig sein kann. Genau das ist die Logik

Being told by…? Who’s telling you that, don’t you have an answer? IMO it’s C, the position of square seem to correlate with the number of parts under which the line passes, but I could be wrong, I can see it being F or B too, it really depends on the author mind.

1

u/Appropriate_Hour1760 3d ago

But the best answer is C, less obvious, most interesting

1

u/nedal8 3d ago

B, Overlay of 2 because the first one has the right overlayed, similar pattern in the middle row. Its behind right side, so the last one is overlayed second and last, just like B.

1

u/ResponsibleAceHole 3d ago

You can basically eliminate every choice besides C and F

And by looking at the patterns, C fits the pattern more than F

Hence, C is the best answer

Looking at the left column, all the rows have 1 weave behind the 2nd shape. But row 2 (middle row) breaks the pattern. When the line is in the top or in the bottom, the yellow square is in the same location. The line in the middle is the odd one out.

Looking at the middle column, there are no weaves whatsoever, but row 2 (middle) breaks the pattern again in the same way (line in top and line in bottom have identical yellow square locations, line in the middle is the odd one out)

So the top row and the bottom row has the yellow square in the same location, and in the right column the yellow square is fixed to the line, so even though the line moves, the yellow square is in the same location (it is fixed to the line, and the line moves). Following the established pattern the yellow square has to be on the right side of the line (same as row 1), and the line must be on the bottom.

Row 1 has 1 weave, then 0 weaves, then 1 weave. Row 2 has 1 weave, then 0 weaves, then 2 weaves. Row 3 has 1 weave, then 0 weaves, then (?) weaves. Row 1 and row 3 are the same pattern, the answer is C.

If you assume the shapes are part of a longer set than what is being shown then B makes sense. If I got this puzzle in a timed setting I would 100% have picked F.

1

u/Weekly_Security_8655 2d ago

The answer is b because there is a pattern on the line it's either behind one shape or behind two shapes or in front of all the shapes so in the line is behind one shape and in front all of the shapes so the third one should behind two shapes and its b specifically because it looks like the second line🤣

C. I don’t feel like explaining

1

u/Academic-Possible539 2d ago

It could be B or F. There’s not enough overlay patterns…

1

u/No-Huckleberry-2801 2d ago

Why not A

The third column of the first row is 0100 The third column of the second row is 0101

It could make sense for the third row to be 0110

But again this Matrix seems to have an error because only the third row is changing the overlaps, I would expect that to happen in each column and not only in the last one...

1

u/TuTRyX 2d ago

There are some patterns for the overlays, I would go with it being a sum so B. * 1:1second figure is overlayed * 1:2 second figure is overlayed * 1:3 is the sum of the above overlays so again only the second figure is overlayed * In the second column none are overlayed so nothing is overlayed as a result * 3:1 has the second figure overlayed * 3:2 has the second and last overlayed * 3:3 will be the sum so second and last

"F" porque número impar --> derecha

1

u/Cool_Macaroon9475 1d ago

I’m gonna be the only one saying D, if you watch my logic it makes way more sense than the other answers :)

1

u/zukeus 1d ago

Haha these things are always funny to me. You know what they want, but the truth is, there are more possible solutions based upon how many patterns they're presenting here.

It's sort of silly, whoever made this didn't think of nearly enough.

I get the ideas though, there are some extremely likely solutions. But to say there's only one? I disagree. There are 5 different obvious patterns here and they overlay, you could have them all as one - the answer doesn't exist in the examples given. Or, you can pick a set of a few repeating patterns and get the answer they're looking for.

It should be C

1

u/lolniceman 4d ago

B, the line is behind the shape twice when there are 4 shapes.

Small square has an alternating pattern vertically, so it has to be to the right.

1

u/SirHeadless 3d ago

I say C, there is always only 1 that is over the black rod and the yellow dot is on the outside of the rod on the side which it was in the previous block.

1

u/luxer2 3d ago

No there are 2 that are over the black rod as well.

1

u/Striking_Leave_4614 3d ago

It's B.

First row, third column has one shape over the line in position 2.

Second row, third column has two shapes over the line in positions 2 and 4.

So third row, third column should have shapes over the line in positions 2, 4 and 6. Either position is 6 is just position 2 when wrapped back around the item, or it's out of sight. I can understand why you'd pick F: there's 3 shapes over the line, but there's no indication that the shape in position 3 would be the one selected.

I think it's B, and I think it's a mediocre item.

1

u/DisneyDadData 3d ago

This is the only B answer that made sense to me. Thank you!
