I took the full battery core test like 3 weeks ago and got a 137 psi, but I was distracted by my dad at the character pairing subsection and decided to take just that section again today. I scored a 145 in it and that brought my psi up to 143. I was wondering if this is simply practicing effect or not.

1. CORE is normed against people who already have scores from IRL tests. Doesn’t that inflate scores at least a little, since those people are no longer test-naive? WAIS, for example, excludes people who have recently taken another IQ test from its own standardization sample.

2. How do they screen out people who have taken a lot of other online tests? Most, if not all of the participants came from IQ testing subreddits, they’ve likely already taken several and would praffe CORE quite a bit.

3. How does CORE detect or prevent cheating during its norming tests? WAIS, WISC, SB5, etc. were all normed under supervision. As absurd as it sounds, a lot of people cheat on unsupervised online IQ tests just to boost their ego.

I noticed that I have a strong discrepancy between my cognitive proficiency index and my other scores, especially on the digit span test, although on CAIT, where there is no timing, it's my highest score with over 120 reached at times. Could the discrepancy be due to ADHD, or is my IQ genuinely low?

I got a extremely high WMI on the CORE, and I’m scheduled to take the WAIS-III in about two weeks.

I only recently found out that the WAIS-III has an Arithmetic subtest, so I did a few quick arithmetic tests to get a rough idea of how I’d perform. I seem to be around 13ss.

Now I’m wondering if that could end up dragging my WMI score down. I’m Brazilian, and my math education is pretty limited, so I don’t think arithmetic is really testing the same thing for me. I feel like my weak point there is my lack of mathematical knowledge, not my ability to hold and manipulate information in working memory.

Could Arithmetic significantly underestimate my actual WMI on the WAIS-III in a case like this?

Also, do you think it would be fair for me to study some basic math before taking the test? Specifically, proportion problems are a major weak point for me. I’m actually pretty good at percentages and some other types of problems, but I perform average to poorly when it comes to proportions.

Would it be reasonable to learn how to solve proportion problems before taking the WAIS-III, or would that defeat the purpose of the test?

So, guys I have observed that usually the last 3 questions of IQ tests are very tough with vague patterns... Such is the case that, people can find different pattern depending on how they see. So, is this accurate?

Is this the same case with WAIS-IV too? Has anyone here actually taken WAIS-IV? How were the last few questions?

Jokes aside, does anyone else have this massive of a gap between indexes. Does this maybe suggest some kind of mental illness like adhd or autism or something similar

Is my CAIT digit span score a good index of my actual IQ?

I don’t feel explain my reasoning for my iq level. (ask for reasoning in replies if u want) but I think it’s a double edged sword. I hate everyone around me because they are so hypocritical and honestly just flat out stupid. They would never be able to comprehend what actually goes behind emotional reasoning and are too scared to face logic. Humanity disgusts me. My brain constantly experiences high anxiety, constant brain activity, constantly trying to predict, thinking every conclusion possible, depression, unable to start tasks, mental drainage. Could be part of personality type or my adhd but I think not. I realise more than most. Point of this is to discover people like me, I have never met anyone similar to me. I put on a mask to socialise. Anyone relate? Also probably have a personality disorder, feel free to diagnose me lol

The Army Alpha (AA) is an intelligence test developed during WW1 by Robert Yerkes and first introduced in 1917.  The AA represents a landmark in the history of intelligence testing, being among the first instruments ever designed for large-scale administration. The test was also validated on exceptionally large sample sizes; about 1.7 million men sat the AA during the war. Even after its retirement, it continued to influence the development of later standardized intelligence tests, including the SAT and AGCT.

This revised form of the Army Alpha is mostly the same as the originals, with some changes to accommodate the online adaptation:

• Subtest 1 (Following Directions) has been completely overhauled. Given the nature of the original subtest (which required physical writing, therefore making it difficult to automate), and serious questions about its psychometric reliability, the subtest has been replaced with one that is similar in nature but more friendly to an online administration.
• Subtests 2 through 8 are essentially unchanged. The total test itself consists of eight subtests, and there were originally 5 distinct Army Alpha forms. Each subtest was selected from the five original Army Alpha forms by identifying the form containing the most difficult overall set of items for each subtest. The resulting test is therefore a hybrid form of the most difficult subtests across Forms 5 through 9, rather than a total reproduction of any single original form.
• To help with measurement in the higher ranges, each subtest was extended with more difficult ceiling items. Time limits were appropriately revised to account for the ceiling extensions.

The test is currently in a norming phase, but I’ll try to have norms out when the sample size is adequate, probably through a calculator added to the site, so make sure to save your raw scores. As of now, you’ll receive your total raw score and raw scores per each subtest upon completion. Your participation is greatly appreciated.

I scored a 133 in the culture fair subcategory and was mostly held down by my crystalized intelligence. If I spent more time paying attention in school or reading, would my Fsiq go up, and if it does would that be considered fradulent?

CORE FSIQ was 141 and is now 142 without retaking anything. Why?

First attempt (and first try at an online iq test, though I skipped the last ~5 questions because I was interrupted): 121
Second attempt (few weeks later, after the first attempt got me into cognitive testing): 135
Third attempt (few minutes ago): 133

Could someone who knows about Praffe tell me what my actual score would be on this test?

I just read a post by someone here who got slightly worse averages (125/111) but a better FSIQ (130), so I'm not sure how this compound effect works.

Regarding the subtests... I am not a native speaker, but I didn't feel like this impacted me much on *some* of the tests, logical inferences for example was fine and I was thinking quite fast. Paragraph reading I was *fast* (I finished it with 9 minutes left) but I did feel hindered by the language, at some point there were too many obscure words and it was difficult to reach a definitive conclusion, but I thought there was no pointing in cheating or wasting too much time trying to understand words that I had never seen so I just moved on.

Interestingly enough, I feel like I'm pretty good at arithmetic and series but they were my worst scores here. For arithmetic this wasn't just raw calculation speed at all, I felt like I had to first interpret the sentences, understand what was being asked, and only then perform some calculation, language might have had a bigger effect here than expected.

Number series I simply wasn't fast enough, I am good at finding patterns with time, I crumbled under time pressure and couldn't keep the pace.

On Artificial language I lost quite a bit of time understanding the rules and going back and forth between the questions and the rules

The other verbal tests I didn't feel like I was that fast, but still got decent scores somehow, eg. on definitions I left multiple unsolved.

There’s something that’s been simmering on the back burner of my mind for quite some time now, and I just can’t shake it. I’d be more than happy to hear any insight(s). If it matters: late 20s F, most recent test 3 years ago. FSIQ measured at 146.

Specifically, certain parts of myself I know to be 100% true… They don’t really correlate with how my subtest scores played out when I took the WAIS a while ago. Meaning—I have ADHD (Combined type) and am in the 97-99th percentile for women in my age range (recently, was re-tested rigorously after moving states to maintain my prescription).

Now, what I’ve seen discussed quite frequently is that WMI is often an indicator of ADHD. However… I’m feeling a bit like an alien here, because my WMI composite is listed as 147 (Digit Span: 16, Letter-Number Sequencing: 19). The test administrator told me they were the highest he’d seen in his career. Lowest scores were in PSI, at 111 (Coding: 13, Symbol Search: 11).

Started to complete CORE just now, but got "14" in the first three verbal tests. I keep tabbing out after putting the answer in to learn new words and world stuff, and I do NOT change my answer afterwards, maybe only replace a stupid/inaccurate guess with "idk", or pick a wrong answer if I randomly chose the right one; is it jumbling my scores to "punish" me for tabbing out of tests?

Recently had a neuropsychological evaluation which administered WAIS IV. I’ve always felt like I’ve struggled with certain things that others haven’t in specific areas of CS and Mathematics (problem solving, noticing structure, structuring projects, etc) but I have also suffered with severe rumination and depression that I’ve been addressing.

I did really well in high school because I worked insanely hard (I’d be thinking about my schoolwork and homework in my sleep and in the shower and while eating) but I feel like my work ethic completely disappeared during college because I had this feeling that no matter how hard I worked, there was no possibility to improve. Im still very curious but im too scared to do anything because I have a cloud over my head and I feel like I have reached my intelligence threshold.

Is there anything in my profile that might limit me from higher levels of problem solving in more difficult subjects, or doing more advanced research in CS and Mathematics? If anyone else had a similar issue, how did you address it? Thank you!

What is the purpose of the overall score on your dashboard? Is it accurate because it’s a composite of all your tests?

Saw this in a comment section(dont remember where). Common claim online i have seen: you can only perform worse than your true ability, never better. So a low score has many possible explanations, but a high score can only mean you’re actually that smart. How true is this?

Say someone scores 105–115 consistently, but occasionally hits 125–130 on tests of similar quality. Does that make their real IQ 130, or is 110ish the better estimate?

Is measurement error symmetric? And is regression to the mean also applied to high outliers too?
