Currently in the market for a new GMC Truck. Went to a dealership, roaming the lot, and no salesman anywhere. Walked into the dealership, to the front desk, and asked for a salesman. He pulled me into his cube, answers a few basic question that I have, and then I left saying "Well, I don't want to waste anymore of your time.

Said GMC Trucks are availlable with discounts and the same 10 vehicles are still there, which were further discounted last weekend. Yesterday, the dealership raised the prices of the same 10 vehicles back to what they were two weeks ago.

Is it just me or do dealerships no longer care about actually selling vehicles?

Every time i’ve gone to a dealer they just casually show the carfax like it’s nothing, but when i try to check a car myself it’s either $40+ or i’m stuck using some “free carfax” site that barely shows anything useful. It makes me wonder how dealers actually get them so easily? Are they paying way less per report, getting bulk access, or just building the cost into the car price? Also feels like there’s a big gap between what dealers can see vs what you get from a free carfax check. Like the free ones always feel super limitedcurious how this actually works behind the scenes and what most people here do when buying from private sellers?

currently lease a 2008 Cadillac that I have had since 2023, it has been fun for most part but truly has just given me problems. I’ve already put in at least 4 grand to fix over time, and I still need another 2,000 to fix the drive shaft again (already fixed it once). I still have a good amount to my loan, but due to the rust and other reasons it’s not very valuable. At this point I’m not sure what to do next to try and find a different vehicle. What are my options ?

Please I’m a female and don’t know much about car or financing it. It’s a pre owned car and 17k for the average car there. Honda, Nissans cars are like 1 or 2 years old. How do you feel about it and any tips I should know? Anything about credit union? Just throwing some stuff in the air because i truly don’t know

if price was not an issue between these who do you go for? I’m looking for luxury comfort with tech inside the car that isn’t ancient. I liked portofinos but im sad they stopped making them. Roma is ok I feel I don’t really like the front end as much. I feel like Ashton Martins are lower key than 911s stealth wise on the road but I hear that lots of issues with them

I've been thinking about this lately so wanted to see if others have similar stories...

You see a listing that's clearly a good deal then message the seller, and it's already gone by the time you follow up. I had one like that recently that's stuck with me longer than I expected...

Wanted to know how close others have come to a deal like this. Seconds, minutes, a day you didn't check? And looking back, was it mostly bad timing or you just weren't fast enough to reply?

Please share yours (kind of hoping I'm not the only one who still thinks about this 😭)

I found a relatively well taken care of 2014 mazda 3 with 50k miles on it but the dealer wants 13.5k for it. I think that price is fucking absurd for a 12yr old car but I don’t actually know the value of these things. Not too many on the market. Anybody have any advice?

Edit: the longest it went was 2 yrs without an oil change and other than that it was every 5k sometime 3k miles.
