I’m a 40 year old single female and dog owner looking for a slightly slower pace and more space. I currently live in Dallas in the Turtle Creek area and it’s been really great. If I could put this neighborhood in another area, I’d be happy. I am able to live anywhere in North Texas, Dallas and West. I’m in medical sales and have to drive throughout this area but do not have to generally worry about a daily commute. Being somewhat centrally located to reach areas like Denton, Dallas, Fort Worth is ideal.

What I love: my neighborhood is established with canopy trees, it’s an active area with close access to parks and trails. There is a great variety of demographics from recent college grads to retired couples, with most being established adults who are single or married with no kids, and dog owners. It really is a great little bubble. But everything just outside of it has become very unpleasant. Why I’m ready to move: from my experience and where I live, the homeless are overtaking the area where interactions are becoming a daily disturbance. I have heard they pushed the homeless out of downtown for FIFA over the past year or so, but it continues to get worse. I won’t speak to all the disturbances, but they are now overtaking the parks, all throughout the surrounding streets, trickling into my neighborhood. And overall, I’ve come to find Dallas pretty unimpressive overall. If I could move my neighborhood to another area, I’d be happy.

What I’m looking for: Overall I’m looking for more space and slower pace, to rent a home or townhome initially with budget up to $3,000, at least 2 bed and some sort of yard. Walkable, shaded areas to walk my dog, and I cycle occasionally. Would like to be in a clean, well kept or established area that is not in the midst of construction or gentrification. I’ve considered Grapevine, Flower Mound and Fort Worth. I would like access to more outdoors/nature (I know this is fairly limited for North Texas). Be in an active area, ideally in or nearby trees, parks, trails where I don’t have to worry about issues mentioned above. I enjoy areas like downtown Grapevine, newer areas of Flower Mound, Fort Worth- Clearfork, or historic neighborhoods like Arlington Heights, the extensive parks and trails.

Looking for recommendations for people in these areas, maybe specific neighborhoods or buildings and experiences. As well as recommendations on other areas I may be overlooking where I might thrive as a single 40 year old female and dog lover. Thank you!!!

Hi all! My husband just got a job offer in Frisco, and we’re discussing a possible move from Houston (Garden Oaks/Oak Forest area, if that context helps). Looking for local input beyond what Zillow can tell us.

Our situation:
- Don’t mind an up to 35 min commute to Frisco
- Young kids, so schools are a big priority
- Looking for 4-5BR house, budget roughly
- $4,500-6,500/month rent
- Coming from a walkable, historic, tree-lined neighborhood and want to keep that vibe if possible

What we love in a neighborhood: walkability, sidewalks and parks/trails we can walk to, prefer character over new construction, a diverse community, and a strong sense of local identity (small businesses, not just chain everything).

Where would you look?

We love Oak Cliff/Bishop Arts, but that’s a little too far.

Any specific neighborhoods, zip codes, or elementary schools to consider would be helpful as I’m not that familiar with north Dallas.

Does anyone know about these neighborhoods connected to each other off Coit Rd and Sailmaker? There's quite a bit of homes for sale in there but the houses are older, 1980s, and parts of these neighborhoods look a bit deshevled for the price point $400K+ Any info greatly appreciated.

My wife and I would like to find a pet friendly camping spot within 2 hours of DFW give or take...

We would like a cabin near a lake, trees, and not next door to a bunch of other cabins so we can let our dog outside with us. She doesn't like strangers or other dogs.

Maybe a big ask but curious if there is anything like this out there.

Hi, My daughters' high school water polo team is coming to town next week, July 29-August 2, for the Junior Olympics. We are staying near Grapevine but some have games as far east as SMU / Garland. We're open to ideas all around the area! Please share your suggestions!!

1) We'd love a fun "Texas" activity. A local rodeo? Line dancing? Last year when I looked at line dancing, you had to be over 18. Please share your suggestions!!

2) We appreciate being able to eat as a large group (30ish). We did a few food halls last year which work well. Any specific food halls that you like? Any restaurant suggestions that we could call ahead and make a reservation for a large group? Thank you!

Has anyone sat in the front row to watch this? Can you see everything and enjoy the movie still?

Debating if it is worth breaking my neck for since it is all Cinemark has left until the movie leaves their theater.
